Applications v.2

THIS IS AN OLD POST. IF YOU WISH TO SEE THE CURRENT APP PAGE, PLEASE GO HERE.

Okay so application is a very strong word and not entirely accurate, but it's a term we all know so bear with me. This is the page where you officially submit your character information for the game! Apps will not really be judged on its contents but more making sure everything fits into the setting of the game. If you want more information on the setting, please check out the FAQ!

To see the previous app page, you can find it here.

How do I join the game?
This app page is currently open! Apps can be submitted by players at anytime. Apps are reviewed by the mod on the first and third weekend of the month, ending at 6pm EST on Sundays (so if you submit an app at 9pm on Sunday it won't get read until the following relevant weekend). Please check the calendar to see when apps will be processed next.

To join the game, you'll require an invite from another player. Players can invite up to 2 people per month. To invite someone, have the person apping list the name of the person inviting them, and then the inviter should comment to their app confirming the invite. Apps that do not have a invitation confirmation will not be looked at by the mods. If a confirmation does not come within two app processing weekends of the app's submission, it'll be automatically rejected.

A new player must be in the game one full month from their app acceptance date before they can invite another player (meaning if their app was approved on September 18th, they can invite people starting October 18th). This is so the new player has a chance to get acclimated to the game and community enough to assist any friends they later invite to the game.

Players who were in the game but who dropped/were swept will not need an invite to rejoin the game for up to one month after their drop date. After that month, they will require an invite to rejoin.

Once you submit your app, you'll get a welcome comment confirming that everything is a-okay. Sometimes revisions will be requested if there is a need to fix with power purchases or possessions.

Is there a player/cast cap?
There are a couple caps! The first cap ia an overall player cap. Kaisou allows a total of 75 players. Should we ever reach cap, apps will close until openings become available.

The second cap is on the number of players with an OU (original universe) character. To make sure OU characters do not dominate the game, there is a current limit of 35 OU players. At the start of each month, we will make sure there are at least 2 OU player slots open so new players get a chance to app an OU. Finally, to keep one cast from dominating the limited OU slots, there is an OU cast cap of 6 OU characters per cast. There's no cap on AUs from the canon at this time, just OUs!

PLAYER SLOTS: 33/75 filled.
OU PLAYER SLOTS: 14/35 filled.

Casts near or at Cap:
Final Fantasy XIV - 4/6, NEAR CAP

What kind of characters do you allow?
Most things! Canon characters, Original characters, CRAU, AU characters - the list goes on. Double characters are also allowed so long as the doubles are notably different from one another (examples: MCU Peter Parker and Into the Spider-verse Peter Parker would be fine as they are two clearly different interpretations of the character. Alternatively, a canon version of a character and an AU version of the same character would be fine as long as the AU causes a notable difference in the character). Customizable protagonists and characters from canons with different story routes are allowed, and any characters with differing story routes would be considered AUs from one another.

The only requirement for a character is that they do require a consistent canon history. This is because many of the plot events and mechanics deal with memories and connections to their previous life (or current life if an OU). If you wish to app a mascot character that doesn't have a specific canon background (a vocalid, clippy, the trix rabbit, etc) - you are welcome to write an OC that's inspired by the character with a clear established background to work from. Characters who have multiple canon iterations (like Link from Legend of Zelda or Sonic the Hedgehog) will need to pick a single iteration to pull their canon background from. Characters must also have been properly introduced (not just a quick cameo) in their canon for at least one month at the time of apping.

How many characters can I play at a time?
You can play up to four active characters at a time! Only two of these characters are allowed to be Original Universe and there is an overall OU player cap as mentioned above. As of September 2023, you may only play 2 characters from the same canon.

How frequently can I submit an app?
There is no time restraint on the first two characters you app. If you join the game with the intent of playing two characters, you can app them both immediately or wait it out! However after you app your second character, you will require to wait one month between each new character app (so if you app your second character on March 2nd, you will need to wait until April 2nd to app a third character). This wait time applies even if you drop a character.

What type of characters can I play in this setting?
At this time, brand new players have the option of choosing between Normal AU, Paranormal AU, and Original Universe. Players who have been in the game at least 3 months also get the option of apping characters from the Black Order or POKEGO factions. Details for each category are below:

Normal Modern AUs
Normals AU are exactly what it says on the tin: they're normal people. These characters have lived entirely normal lives on modern day Earth. Up until the day they joined the Libra app (aka when they join the game), they've been completely oblivious to anything strange about the world. Even if something paranormal-related did happen to them, their memories remember it as a more mundane event (for example if they got attacked by a monster, they'll remember it as a dog attack) - and it's only once they join the app may they remember how those events occurred. For the most part, their AU backstory should consist of things that could reasonably happen in a modern day Earth setting.

Upon acceptance, Normal AUs will be allowed to pick two free regains (canon regain or an elemental power) that can be worth up to 3 points each. These regains will ICly come into effect after they join the game.

Paranormal Modern AUs
Paranormal AU characters are characters who also grew up in modern day Earth, but have experienced supernatural occurrences throughout their lives. Their experiences with the supernatural can vary wildly as long as it fits into the setting of Kaisou. Maybe they've been raised by a family aware of the supernatural, or they started as normal people and ended up crossing paths with the paranormal at some point in their lives. They may even be involved with a player-run faction (aka any faction that's not Zodiac, Black Order or POKEGO), or a new faction that you made up yourself!

These characters will get 6 extra points to be spent on elemental powers (aka Kaisou original powers) they obtained during their AU backstory. These points cannot be used for canon regains (though you are welcomed to purchase elemental powers that are similar to their canon powers, or pick something entirely new!). These points can be used for monster traits, but you need to include some explanation for why they are a monster (were they cursed? An experiment? Are their parent a monsterfucker?) and they will need to be at least half-human.

Paranormal characters can also be possessed. You can read more information about on the possesion info page.

Original Universe
Original Universe characters hail from their original world and find themselves arriving into this world through the Spirit Realm. They will not lose any memories of their canon lives, and are allowed to have any items that they could reasonably carry on their persons upon arrival without any enchantments (in other words, no cheating with a mary poppins bag). If they were carrying a magical bag, the bag will split open in the Spirit Realm and all the contents will come spilling out on the ground, forcing your character to grab only what they can carry.

Power wise, OUs can do one of the following options for their retained options. Feel free to consult the regain page for clarity on the point values.
  • 3 abilities that have the power equivalent of a 1-point regain (very low level power)
  • 2 abilities that have the power equivalent of a 2-point regain (medium level power)
  • 1 ability that has the power equivalent of a 3-point regain (advanced level power)

Retained abilities can apply to any magical items they have with them EXCEPT for anything that'd increase their inventory or would be considered otherwise gamebreaking. Any other abilities or items that don't have their powers retained will be completely depowered and will require regain points to gain back.

Black Order/POKEGO AU
PLEASE NOTE: Due to this character type requiring a thorough understanding of the game setting, this option is only available for players who have been in Kaisou for at least 3 months

As of April 2023, players are limited to only have ONE character from each faction at a time (meaning you can have one Black Order member and one POKEGO character, but not more than one in each faction)
.

Black Order/POKEGO characters are AU characters who started either as Normal or Paranormal AU characters. However, unlike the other AU types who only begin regaining canon memories once they join the game, these characters began remembering their past lives and regaining canon abilities at an earlier point in their life - usually after a traumatic or high stress incident. Sometime shortly after they began remembering their past lives, they were approached by one of two factions:

THE BLACK ORDER: A secretive group devoted to protecting and preserving the Spirit Realm, particularly any realms that are considered sacred, by dispatching agents known as "Guardians" to manage supernatural incidents of note. While it varies from member to member, the Black Order aren't exactly known for being a chill group. Some Guardians join willingly while others were "strongly persuaded" to join. While you don't need to be religious to be part of the Black Order nor does it adhere to a particular religion, it is said to be funded by numerous religious denominations around the world. Thanks to that, Black Order Guardians will enjoy free housing (within reason, no mansions) and a comfortable salary to live on - though some may get a daytime job/go to school to keep up a persona. The Black Order itself is run by a mysterious council of leaders, who give orders to their Guardians to fulfill. Thanks to the constant unusual activity in Kaisou, they have decided to send members to Kaisou and join the app in order to investigate what's going on.

POKEGO: A group devoted to the research and understanding of the Spirit Realm. All in all, they tend to be less hardcore than the Black Order and all members join willingly, though sometimes it's by means as a way to avoid joining the Black Order. POKEGO is less structured than the Black Order, with the group actually being made up of several different cohorts that focus on different areas of study related to the Spirit Realm (such as flora, fauna, gate locations, gods, etc etc). For a long time they held a positive reputation in paranormal circles, but that recently took a serious hit thanks to Professor Willow and his faction's deeds. Thanks to that, a lot of sponsors (including Zodiac) have pulled out and funding has really dried up. This means POKEGO researchers will have to find their own housing and find ways to make ends meet (in other words, you're broke). These days, the remaining members of POKEGO are working towards rebuilding their organization and repairing the bridges that have been burned.

Characters apped will either be in the role of Black Order Guardian or POKEGO Researcher that's been sent to Kaisou to help investigate the situation, and will join the Libra app in the spirit of cooperation with Zodiac (and to keep an eye on everyone). It's up to you if the character had already lived in Kaisou for some time, or is completely new in town. While both of these groups are made up of people who remember their past lives, before the events of Kaisou it was well understood among these group that regaining past memories was an extremely rare occurrence (like 1 in a few million rare), that memories of their past lives were to be kept hush-hush from outsiders - and anyone who refused to comply with the rules would have their past memories erased and powers sealed. So some may not be entirely sure how to feel about these Zodiac app users that have a lot less rules to follow. Typically POKEGO/Black Order characters should be at least 16 years of age. If you wish to app a younger one, they will be considered a trainee and special accommodations will need to be made (aka you need to talk to the mod about it).

Due to their special situations, Black Order/POKEGO characters can start with 16 regain points for their pre-purchased powers (versus the 6 that paranormal AU get). These regain points can be used for both Kaisou elemental powers AND canon regains. Black Order/POKEGO characters may also be possessed, which works the same way as Paranormal AUs.

As of April 2023, POKEGO characters will be allowed 1 free pokemon that's up to horse size (and isn't a legendary) upon apping. This Pokemon will be completely depowered, but for 1 point you can unlock up to 4 of the abilities that are available for the Pokemon at Level 1 in the games. Any abilities beyond that would cost the same rates as if those abilities were on a player character. Additional pokemon would cost the same rate as a magical animal companion (aka based on size and they'd start with their level 1 abilities).

FINALLY, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO THEIR FACTION'S REPUTATION, BLACK ORDER AND POKEGO CHARACTERS (ESPECIALLY POKEGO) ARE LIKELY TO HAVE A GOOD DEAL OF NEGATIVE CR FROM OTHER CHARACTERS EARLY ON. Please be prepared to deal with this should you choose to app from these factions. Even if your character is a nice person, they will likely have to work extra hard to gain the trust of those around them.

Character Name: Artorias
Canon: Dark Souls
Canon History: "...But such a hero has nary a murmur of Dark."

Canon Personality: - iron will
- dutiful
- lives to protect
- is painfully aware that protecting everyone is not possible, but tries his best to have minimal casualties, even at the cost of himself
- Pure of heart, dumb of ass: A notable example is that he successfully befriends multiple forest creatures and even a sentient mushroom, but also decided it was a good idea to teach a giant wolf to use a sword. Yes, it worked and there's logic behind it, but also. Also.
- his best friend is head of his Lord's assassins and he's fully aware of it, so he's down with murder as long as he thinks it's for the right reasons

AU Name: N/A (might think of a surname later if it becomes relevant)
AU Birthday: May 24th
Faction: Black Order

AU History:
There's not terribly much to tell about Artorias's early life. Indeed, one might say that other than being rather tall, there was nothing especially remarkable about him at all that set him apart from the crowd, save in the sense that his love of the great outdoors often meant he was often physically far from any crowd. And then, one day, he went hiking in the woods as usual, and happened to stumble at the wrong time in the wrong spot, and well. Sometimes a Spirit Realm swallows you up without anyone being the wiser.

Artorias quickly noticed he'd become lost, but didn't realize he straight up wasn't on earth anymore until he happened upon a massive talking cat with an impossibly large mouth and a lot of helpful advice. From her he learned that the forest was much like the woods of old folklore, filled with creatures both fantastical and horrifying; a place not meant for mankind.

Several years later from Earth's perspective and an unknown amount of time from the perspective of the Wood, a Black Order patrol there on an unrelated mission involving a sacred site within happened upon Artorias, not only alive, but thriving thanks to having regained his body from his previous life and a few helpful abilities besides. Delighted by the first humans he'd seen in a very long time indeed, it was only with slight reluctance and slight misrepresentation of what they do that the Order members convinced him to leave and join their ranks.

More time passed, and Artorias had risen far enough to end up on the Vanguard Team, which were sent to Kaisou in 2022 for the La Llorona incident. During a recent mission he ran afoul of a bit of a curse, sealing away a portion of his powers and thus resulting in the higher ups reassigning him to Kaisou for the time being. And no, he still hasn't cottoned on to the Black Order being maybe more than a little shady even from his last visit.

AU Personality Differences: Although he hasn't changed much, he has learned it's alright to speak informally around more people when he isn't on a job since he doesn't have the pressure of being a famed knight and thus having such monumentally high expectations to meet. For the same reason, he's also more willing to let the odder side of his personality out to more people. He's also a bit... more like a wild animal in some mostly subtle ways because he's spent a large amount of time with only animals and the occasional talking mushroom for company.

Element: Shadow
Purchased Powers: Fully transform into a creature larger than 8ft (canon appearance) - 8 pts
Regeneration - 2 pts
Speak with animals - 2 pts
Sense Presence within 500 ft - 4 pts

Other Characters: Nope

Character Name: Vyne (Time Patroller)
Canon: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
Canon History: Wiki!
Canon Personality: Take a bored, apathetic teenage girl and give her the potential for literal godlike power.

Despite her dry air of indifference, Vyne is a creature of whim at heart, not at all above doing dumb shit for her own mild amusement. Or encouraging other people, with a straight face, to do dumb shit for her mild amusement. She genuinely enjoys fighting (though she's no Saiyan) and she takes a decidedly cavalier attitude toward it, treating it more like any other form of entertainment like a video game or a casual sport than something one might dedicate their entire existence to improving themselves at.

Not to say that she's incapable of being serious – she does her job and she does it well – but it's hard to tell when she is, because even when she's giving her all her voice is just kind of. Like that. Still, overall, her reactions to the world-shattering events she regularly finds herself embroiled in trend steadily towards "this might as well happen."

Being a Majin, she has a distinct gluttonous streak. She's completely unashamed of it.

AU Name: Vivian "Viv" Vintis
AU Birthday: June 26
AU History: Born and raised in Kaisou, Vivian's life has been about as ordinary as can be. Her parents are an utterly unremarkable middle-class couple, and her grades in school were neither terrible nor amazing. There are no traumatic incidents or tragedies in her past. She's spent her life more or less following the path of least resistance, and is currently attending college only at her family's insistence; she still hasn't settled on a major, naturally.

AU Personality Differences: There's not much to tell here. The main difference is that while Vyne was a godslayer with the attitude of an apathetic teen, Viv... actually is an apathetic teen. While Vyne kept herself busy saving the world with the Time Patrol, Viv hasn't really found anything worth dedicating herself to (or gotten into enough tiffs to realize she likes beating people up), and is just cruising aimlessly through life. Nothing has ever truly ignited a spark of passion within her, and at this point she's all but resigned herself to an existence of aimless drifting.

Honestly, she'll welcome the incursion of the supernatural into her life, because if nothing else... it's something interesting.

Character Name: Rean Schwarzer
Canon: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
Canon History: kiseki wiki goooo

Canon Personality: Rean's a good bean, but HOO BOY does he have Issues™.

  • Kind and Compassionate: Rean's always looking out for others and wants them to be happy.

  • Loyal: Once you are friends with Rean, he will DIE FOR YOU.

  • Natural leader: Rean doesn't see it in himself, and he doesn't always have the best plans, but he's great at rallying people together for a cause.

  • Self-deprecating and self-destructive: Rean doesn't see much worth in himself, and he's all too quick to point that out. He's also more than happy to run headlong into danger for someone else's sake, never stopping to think about himself for a second.

  • Lovable but very stupid: Thanks to bullet point the first, Rean tends to wind up with a lot of people infatuated with him. Thanks to the previous bullet point, Rean has absolutely no idea.

  • Hard worker: Rean doesn't have an off button. He has no idea how to take time for himself and as a result usually winds up taking on other people's errands or checking in on people rather than taking time to relax.

AU Name: N/A
AU Birthday: May 7

AU History: Rean is the eldest child of a wealthy couple from the northeastern US. He was, as such, granted a pretty privileged upbringing, attending private school and being enlisted into whatever martial arts or kendo classes he was interested in without a second thought. Rean's always tried to be cognizant of his privilege, though, and as such never really joined any extracurriculars through his school proper - he preferred to spend his time volunteering where he could. He also never really made many friends through school or those classes, but hid it well behind a smile and a positive attitude.

During whatever downtime he had left, his family (his father and siblings especially) always encouraged his love of various aspects of nerd culture, especially anime and video games. It's a love he still carries with him, and he's on the board of his college's anime club.

Speaking of college, that's why he's in Kaisou! He's in his second year of listlessly drifting through an undecided major on his parents' dime, trying out various specialization classes here and there hoping that something lights a fire in him.

Thankfully, thanks to the fact that he's dating a high school teacher (sup Elliot,) he's found himself picking up various tutoring gigs recently, and has found himself rather liking them. He's thinking about declaring a major in education, but hasn't quite worked up the nerve to commit to it just yet.

Speaking of Elliot! Rean was on the Libra app before, with his childhood friend Elliot joining later. Due to Libra Shenanigans™, they found out their past lives also knew each other, and after finding out that their past lives kind of sucked, they wound up finally getting together after [checks watch] two entire lifetimes of pining. So that's awesome.

Also, one time Elliot got kidnapped by the fae and turned into a cat. Rean chased after to try to rescuse him and also got turned into a cat. Now they're both catboys and they try very, very hard not to make it anyone else's problem, but please, someone just buy them a cat tree. They're both too proud to do it themselves.

AU Personality Differences: Not a whole ton different, Rean's just a sadsack as per usual. It's fine, probably.

Element: FIYAH but he's not getting any right now.
Purchased Powers: N/A, I need to buy back his weeb shit first

Possession: IT'S NOT REALLY A POSSESSION but last time he was here Rean got cursed by the fae. Now he's a catboy. It's really very embarrassing, please don't talk to him about it.

Character Name: Zulius
Canon: Centaurworld
Canon History: Hot goss!! also here's the general wiki because the fan one is not the best.

Canon Personality:

Zulius is VERY self-obsessed, this is clear within a few seconds of meeting him. He's vain and tends to focus on his outward appearance. He expects perfection always and pitches a complete shit-fit when any sort of blemish occurs. Given he spent a considerable amount of his life being raised by cats, that's not really surprising. It makes him come across as somewhat superficial, which definitely isn't an entirely wrong take, but there is a little more there, once you get to know him.

He LOVES his herd, fiercely and ceaselessly. He's the second most supportive member of the herd after Wammawink (and it's hard to beat a literal helicopter parent in that department) even if his technique is a little more on the...catty side. Zulius makes his friend feel better with makeovers, sharing gossip he's picked up around and giving them the sort of sassy pep talk you'd expect to hear on a reality TV show like Next Top Model or Drag Race. In a "be best version of YOU" kind of way. Not the best. No no. Just Be. Best.

He's also more than willing to protect his friends in other ways- more than once on the battlefield, he shields Ched, the smallest member of the herd from harm - regardless of the danger around them. Unlike his pep talks and makeovers, he doesn't even bring UP these moments of casual heroism. Protecting his family is one of the few things he doesn't immediately demand praise or adoration for.

He's extremely dramatic (especially around his aforementioned appearance shit-fits) and tends to hold grudges for a VERY long time. His tiger-taur boyfriend, Splendib stole his backup dancers, the Glitter Cats which resulted in Zulius having a very messy breakup and storming out of Cat Valley. This in turn resulted in him finding Wammaink and the rest of the herd and immediately insinuating himself in them but he never forgot what Splendib did to him and when the herd had to go back to Cat Valley on their fetch quest had a pretty dramatic breakdown about the entire thing. It was the only time he let himself look like a mess, going as far as to grow a beard and wear a muumuu. He spent most of the time screeching about how much he hated the place and the emotional damage inflicted on him there. Equally, though, he's quick to forgive. All it took was Splendib showing up while they were preparing for the final battle to face the Nowhere King, offering genuine support to soothe Zulius' ruffled feathers and let the couple reconcile. His fallouts might be dramatic, but he'll let everything go if he feels he's been valued to the level his expects.

Gossip and talking about others behind their backs is highly important to him, to the point where he's developed a magical ability called "Hot Goss"- which allows him to momentarily stop time and break the 4th wall to make catty comments about whatever's going on at the time. Obviously, he won't have this power in Kaisou (yet) but given a centaur's individual magic is very much a reflection of their own personality, the fact this is one of his main repertoires is telling. He also has "Shapely Mane" which allows him to shift the shape of his mane into whatever he needs at the time- usually something cosmetic, but he does use it to help protect his herd on more than one occasion too- showing his need for outward pizzaz twinned with his desire to help his herd in his own...weird way.

AU Name: Zulius Bunter
AU Birthday: 10th August

AU History:

He grew up in a rich family in LA. His parents are movie people- his mom a producer and his dad an actor- so he's grown up amongst the glitz and glamour and fakeness of Hollywood. He learned that appearance and style are everything. He developed light elemental magic at a young age and used it to pursue a life on the stage- using his magic to really glam up his stage presence. Cheating? Maybe- but he looks fabulous doing it!

At some point, he got a starring role as The Rum Tum Tugger in a production of Cats. He did this for a couple of years, this is where he met his boyfriend, Sebastian and also a lifelong friend, Moxxie. Unfortunately, treachery was afoot- Sebastian managed to spread rumours to the producers of the musical about Zulius' ability to carry out the role. The producers eventually kicked Zulius out of the production, giving the role to Sebastian, stating Zulius was getting "too old" for the role.

This resulted in a very dramatic and VERY public breakup between the pair as Zulius flounced out to make his OWN theatre with BETTER sparkles and HOTTER stars. Using some of his trust fund, he bought up a theatre in Kaisou and has been living here for the better part of 2 years. He made a few friends here- actual real ones that weren't fake and focused on the glitz and glam of the entertainment business and he learned to appreciate people beyond their outward appearance in the process. He's devoted his time since to making his little theatre the BEST place to be at an evening while occasionally accosting poor souls in Kaisou to help them be best version of themselves (read: look hotter) out of the goodness of his heart. If they want him to or not.

AU Personality Differences:

- Without Wammawink's (smothering) protectiveness, he's had to be a little more self-sufficient. That said, if someone ELSE is ever willing to do something he doesn't want to do, he'll still immediately let them do all the work.
- Thanks to not having to go to war against the Nowhere King, he's considerably less able or willing to actually fight because he doesn't have to. Wow, he's a theatre guy, not a warrior, wow!!!

Element: Light!
Purchased Powers:
- Conjure a rainbow firm enough to stand on for one person temporarily. (3 points)
- Can create illusions the size of a dog. Will disappear upon contact. (2 points)
- Conjure a ping-pong size ball of light. (1 point)

Character Name: Aki Hayakawa
Canon: Chainsaw Man
Canon History: Here

Canon Personality:
  • Generally pretty stoic and serious. He's not really the type to joke around at all, because Aki knows what he wants and when he's determined to do something, he will make sure it gets done at all costs.
  • His main motivation in the series is to get vengeance on the Gun Devil for killing his family. He became a Public Safety Devil Hunter for this reason, and takes his job extremely seriously.
  • That being said, he's extremely softhearted and deeply cares about the people around him. He can't stand people dying around him, which makes him more human in this regard than others in the series. For example, while he initially doesn't get along with Denji and Power, he comes to care about them very deeply despite their differences. He was even willing to give up his goal of vengeance to keep them safe.
  • He's also prone to being petty. He joined Denji in kicking a guy in the balls, repeatedly, after said guy killed one of his friends. Aki tried to resist temptation at first, but that flew out the window pretty quickly.

AU Name: N/A
AU Birthday: December 30th

AU History:
Aki Hayakawa was born to a very modest family, with a younger brother to come two years later. There wasn't really anything remarkable about his parents – no accolades, fancy titles or anything of the sort. As such, Aki himself grew up living a very average life from elementary to high school. He was a good student and focused on his studies; he also did cross country as his extracurricular activity. Pretty popular at school for his good looks, athleticism, and academic prowess. He graduated high school with a fantastic GPA and a full ride to Kaisou University.

The day before his first day of college, however, is when his life turned upside down. Aki was returning from a trip when the plane he was in malfunctioned. It started to descend rapidly towards the ground and made a crash landing, in which only half of the passengers on board survived. Aki almost didn't, having sustained an injury to his chest that should've been fatal. However, a being from the Spirit Realm – the ghost of a woman who actually, in fact, died in a similar accident – was drawn to Aki's will to survive, and offered him a contract. In exchange for saving his life, he would be required to allocate at least half of his monthly earnings to pay off the ghost's massive debt from when she was alive. In the heat of the moment, he agreed to the contract in order to keep his life.

...Of course, once he was fine, he realized how hard it'd be for him to do so, being a freshman in college who had yet to step into the workforce. Luckily, he was able to pick up a part-time job as a barista at a local coffee shop...though with the contract in play, he didn't exactly have a lot of spending money. Still doesn't. At least he's a college student, now!

AU Personality Differences:
At his core, Aki is still similar to his canon counterpart. However, he has no desire for vengeance whatsoever, and his main motivation now is paying off his debt. No combat skills whatsoever, either. He also has more moments in which he'll fool around, mostly around those he cares about. Also really hates planes.

Still stoic, though. That's just who he is.

Element: Light
Purchased Powers: - Create small illusions the size of something that fits in your hand. Will disappear upon physical contact. (1 point)
- Summon a basketball size ball of light. (2 points)
- Can teleport to places they've been before (solo). (3 points)
Possession: Pulling from the history section! An ordinary ghost is possessing Aki, and his contract price is dedicating half of his monthly earnings to paying off the ghost's debt from when she was alive.

Character Name: Vash the Stampede
Canon: Trigun: Maximum (Manga)
Canon Point: Just after giving up his alias as Ericks and coming out of hiding.
Birthday: July 21st.
History: dumb alien boy

Personality: There are two notable facets to Vash's personality. One being the persona he puts forward in most of his socializing--be it with friend or foe--and that's of a goofy, somewhat idiotic and playful fool who likes nothing better than to eat snacks, play games, and wile away his days idly.
Upon his head sits a bounty of over $$60, 000, 000, and when approached by people who either want to kill him for the money or hire him for their own schemes (using his name and fame as an intimidation factor), it's not uncommon for people to doubt the fact that he is who he says he is. His childish reactions to others, or even his complete unwillingness to fight has those he meets wondering if he's just pretending to be the infamous Humanoid Typhoon, and it often gets him into even more trouble than he's already used to.

Always being one to run and hide, beg and plead and bounce around like a lunatic instead of actually drawing a weapon to fight, the man is a pacifist right down to the very bones of his body. He has an extreme dislike of hurting anyone--regardless if they mean him harm or not--and will always try any hairbrained scheme to get out of having to draw his weapon. That isn't to say he can't fight--quite the opposite. He often drives his opponents into fits of rage with how deftly he can avoid being hit by ANY means--dodging and weaving, hiding behind things, running--even going so far as to stick his finger into the barrel of someone's gun and wrestling with them to avoid any sort of violence. At the end of the day he's a gentle person who truly values life--to a degree where it quite literally leaves him scarred and in more trouble than actually shooting his gun would cause.

The final aspect of his first, outward personality is his overly playful way of interacting with others. With elderly or children, he acts like a big child--not having any qualms about playing games with them, calling them 'grandma' or doing favors for them with an innocent smile--or, with those closer to his own apparent age, he has absolutely no qualms about flirting heavily, being somewhat over-affectionate to a point where it usually gets him slapped or called names. He treats those he meets anew as if he's known them his whole life, which can be off-putting for anyone actually trying to get an idea about him.

Of course, this is mostly all a front.

This goofy outlook is his way of covering up that behind the fake smile and bluster is a deeply sad man who's hiding a lot of pain due to the circumstances of his life. Vash, while looking human, is a humanlike construct--a bio-engineered creature called a Plant. Plants have multiple functions, depending on what they were meant to be used for -- some being able to create essentials for human survival like food, water, things for clothing and simple chemical compounds like amino acids. Others can be used as power generators, allowing towns and cities to have things like light and heaters, simple refrigeration and cooking implements, etc.
Vash is what's known as an independent, A plant that can walk free of the tanks that sustain them, appearing human instead of the amalgamate, almost angel-like creatures that sustain life on the desert planet humans have ended up on. His 'type' of plant isn't entirely clear--but the one thing that is clear is that he can turn into a sort of bio-weapon, his arms being able to transform into a cannon that can quite literally blast a hole in the side of a moon. Due to circumstances in his long-lived life, there have been incidents in the past where the activation of his weapon functions have caused massive world-wide incidents including city-wide destruction and an immense loss of life due to it. This hangs onto Vash like lead and it's left him deeply emotionally wounded as a person as he carries the guilt of every life that's ended due to the things he's done--be them accidental or not. His goofy personality is his way of making people stay at arm's length with him, so they don't get close to him. As people who generally get close to him don't stay alive long.

He is gentle and loving, he cares for every living thing to a point where one could call it suicidal--if it weren't for the fact that he's stated on occasion that he disapproves of suicide more than anything. It's poetic, really. He sincerely believes that everyone has the ability to be kind to one another, and hopes that by showing mercy and a hand of kindness to everyone that he can bring out that goodness in them. That his utter refusal to hurt or kill anyone that he can use words and actions to convince them to calm down and perhaps choose a different path.

When cornered, Vash can become terrifying, however. When put into a situation where he doesn't have a choice but to kill, or feels anger against someone who's done another human being wrong, he can become deathly cold and frightening in the way he speaks and holds himself. Once being described as looking frightening enough to be the devil himself with the horrifying expression on his face moments before taking someone's life.

Truly, Vash isn't a cruel person and would rather live his days carefree, but will stop at nothing to make sure that so long as he's involved, noone will lose their life.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Arriving immedialte upon acceptance.
||info for labyrinth:
Vash is a very troubled individual who's saddled with a lot of guilt due to being partially at fault for the state that humanity is currently trapped in on his world. The canon point where I'm taking him from, he's about to go on a quest to stop his brother from destroying all human life on the planet, so his mental state is one that's a mess of what's the right direction he should be going. His labyrinth will likely relate to his struggles of how to stop his brother from wanton chaos while wanting to save everyone from dying -- his brother included.

Items:
- A handgun - a .45 long barreled colt.
- a pair of orange-tinted sunglasses.
- He has a fake arm that hides a very small handgun inside the wrist. (left arm.)

Retained Abilities:

Vash has a number of superhuman abilities, being born of a race of energy-creating ultra-dimensional beings, however, upon arrival he'll lose 95% of them.
The only one I'll be having him retain is his Superhuman reflex: - he is able to dodge bullets, shot from guns almost point-blank, as well as avoid people--or objects--aimed to hit him. He has the uncanny ability to judge when he's about to be hit by something, and is able to pretty impressively dodge it. With this also comes the ability to play keep-away annoyingly long with someone if he's holding something. Able to read when they'll try to grab it, only for him to pull it just out of reach last-second.

Sei Shounagon | Fate/Grand Order | OU

Player Name: Claire

Other Characters: Ryoko Shinonome

Character Name: Sei Shounagon
Canon: Fate/Grand Order
Canon Point: Post-Valentines 2023 (NA), pre-Lostbelt 6
Birthday: June 27th
History: FGO Wiki and uh the actual historical Sei Shounagon on Wikipedia. I play FGO Sei in line with the speculation that she never married and became a nun following Teishi's death.

Personality:

🔹 A frighteningly social and explosively extroverted girl. She's very much a people person and loves nothing more than having novel new experiences – and all the better to share them with the people around her.
🔹 Always in high spirits, regardless of her actual mood – she can go from beaming with joy to sulking to laughing her guts out and back again all at the snap of a finger. Her Servant profile describes her as being "catlike", in that her moods are fickle and quick to change at her own seemingly indeterminable whims. She becomes easier to understand when you click into the fact that Sei simply prioritizes fun and living well above all else.
🔹 More intelligent than she seems. Though her blithe and carefree nature can give the impression of an airhead, she's a well-educated and scholarly woman who was said to frequently argue educated men to a standstill in her own time. She's also surprisingly emotionally and socially intelligent – while she might come ramming in with the full force of a bulldozer, she's good at reading people and quite kind and graceful when it comes to people who can't quite match up to her levels of energy and social enthusiasm.
🔹 Which is to say, she is definitely kind of dumb but she's also smart. You Know What I Mean.
🔹 Not quite as effortlessly cheery and social as she seems. That's not to say that her bubbly, friendly self is a mask of any kind – but rather, being so happy and carefree is a conscious choice that Sei makes as a way of dealing with her grief over Lady Teishi's death. As Sei puts it, she finds a good deal of comfort in the thought of being watched over by Teishi and being seen to be having a happy, fulfilling time as a Servant, rather than wallowing in grief.
🔹 This is also not an easy choice and Sei occasionally expresses a fear of feeling all this energy go flat one day and returning to, as she puts it, a world without colour or passion – perhaps referring to the grief she felt following Teishi's death. Though she attempts to soften this by believing her friends would be able to help her out of such a rut, it's nevertheless a deep-seated fear that Sei wrestles with more often than she lets on.
🔹 Because of her own dealings with pain – and the fact that she herself was once quite a timid, shy girl – Sei is extremely empathetic and always determined to do what she can to uplift others and fill them with the same energizing and fulfilling love for and enjoyment of life that she carries... though she often goes a little overboard in her attempts. It's undeniable that her heart is in the right place, though.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Just at the tail end of February, so only backdated by a few days. She's mostly been wandering around trying to figure out if this is some wild Chaldea event like usual...
Items: Nothing but the Chaldea Picture Diary – a sort of modern-day equivalent of her original Pillow Book writings. Stuffed full of photos, stickers and happy memories from her time in Chaldea that she commits to paper to make sure nothing gets forgotten.
Retained Abilities: A weakened version of her skill Song of the Poet, which allows her to give a weak boost of mana and some light healing to herself and her allies. She also retains a vastly weakened (and unranked) version of her Noble Phantasm, Emotional Engine – Full Drive that, at its current level, only allows her to manipulate the emotions of a handful of opponents at a time.

Character Name: Garrett
Canon: Thief (2014 reboot)
Canon Point: Post-game
Birthday: N/A, so January 1st!
History: Here's the asshole

Personality:

+ Reliable: If you send him to do a job, he's going to do that job well- if it's within his own morals. Garrett isn't a man who does anything in halves: either he does the work and he brings back everything requested, or he rejects the job and disappears just as quick.

+ Loyal: Most wouldn't think a man who willingly chooses the life of a thief to trust much, and they'd be right. But Garret has a habit of unknowingly attaching himself to people he cares for. You earn his trust, he'll go through a burning prison building just to save you. He's fiercely protective of the people who crack his hard shell, even if he rarely ever shows it to anyone.

+ Strategist: One thing is for sure, this is a man who spends much of his time planning heists by researching and studying everything he can get his hands on about the target or the location. Maps, written word, rumors, actual blueprints- he'll take it all and collect it in one place so he can figure out the best method and approach to getting what he wants and getting back out alive.

+/- Sasser: Garrett's sass is probably one of the most notable things about him, either defusing a situation or perhaps getting on someone's nerves even further. He has no care if his views or humor make someone think negatively of him; he's here to provide a blunt and realistic approach to whatever hope someone may have of a good outcome.

+/- Proud: Pride is one of his biggest strengths and his biggest faults. While Garrett may only seem like an asshole who concerns himself, he feels his pride is justified. When you live as a thief and escape as much as he has for over twenty years, that definitely gets a few bragging rights.

+/- Grey morality: Being on the side of crime and wrong-doing has led him to walk along a very narrow line between light and dark. Garrett will take from whoever he comes across, regardless of wealth or non-wealth. He'll go into places he's not welcome and get what he wants. However, contrary to most other thieves he knows, he doesn't kill and purposely avoids confrontation with authorities.

- Trust issues: Being a thief means almost everyone is either out to get you, or to outdo you in skill. Garret doesn't trust simply for the understanding that accepting someone at face value will get all your goods stolen, and a knife in your back. A harsh lifestyle has taught him to mistrust first and keep others at arm's length- that way if there's a betrayal, you don't even have to act surprised.

- Fear of vulnerability: Nothing scares him more than the fact that despite his efforts to remain entirely detached from everything, he's still human. If people were to know, they'd exploit that, and Garrett would be terrified of being considered weak and useless.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Garrett would have arrived mid-February, noticing the absolutely abhorrent vivid colors everywhere and people talking about love and relationships and friendships and fucking booked it. GROSS. He'd have found the closest clock tower that still was mechanical and made a wholeass home in it (what are you Garret, a fucking BIRD), though he's lacking in SO MUCH SHIT IT'S ANNOYING. He's so low on his inventory and nothing here is familiar UGH. Industrial revolution/Victorian era means nothing in the modern day in terms of technology, this is such a hassle. Still, despite remaining silent and avoiding most of the things Zodiac has provided him with, Garrett has been keeping an eye on the network. Not saying anything, because why give yourself away after being rescued from a place that shows you're mentally not okay? Vulnerability, yikes. That's a no-go for him, thanks.

His labyrinth is mostly a mix between the area that is made of the Primal (part of what's in his eye, he mostly sees areas that are rooms covered in an aqua-green hue with poppies literally everywhere) and Moira, a haunted asylum for "treating those who are ill." For parts of the Primal, there's always a feeling as if someone is trying to reach out for him, wanting him to hear them- but he can't ever make it out, even though he's sure he knows who it is. Wandering around are hints of Freaks, alien-like humanoids who hate light and fire, but also hunt relentlessly if they hear sounds. Off in the distance in the ends of Moira, you can hear the sounds of something growling and see how the air shifts as if something's there.

The Night Warden has now gone on duty. 8)

Items: He carries way too much bc he's a thief, but since he's just post-game:

• Compact compound bow
• Quiver
• 2 Rope Arrows
• 1 Water Arrow
• 1 Broadhead Arrow
• 2 Fire Arrows
• 6 Blunt Arrows
• 1 Sawtooth Arrow
• 1 Choke Arrow
• 1 Blast Arrow

• The Claw
• The Blackjack
• 1 lockpick
• Wrench
• Razor
• Wirecutter

These are also from what looks like the 19th century, so he's gonna find out half his stuff is useless once he finally goes and explores things.

Retained Abilities: His right eye that has the Primal shard in it- we're starting with the basics.

Focus: the ability for Garrett to notice things with a heightened sense of sight (they will light up in color while the world goes grayscale, his right eye lights up and emits smoke to signal his using of the ability) - 3 points

Yasuho Hirose | JJBA: Part 8 | Normal Modern AU

Player Name: Usagi
Contact: [plurk.com profile] usagisquared
Invited by: N/A I'm here already
Other Characters: Suzume Kujo

Character Name: Yasuho Hirose
Canon: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Jojolion (part 8)
Canon History: CW Note: Be advised that while not in graphic detail, Yasuho's canon history involves her becoming a victim of attempted suicide, multiple accounts of assault, and at least one near rape. Please exercise caution while reading her history for this reason, as the site itself does not give these warnings, only censoring any relevant images if provided.

Yasuho's canon history is here.
Canon Personality:
  • Very well-adjusted, and calm, compared to the cast; arguably used as the part's 'Straight Man' in the sense of having 'relatable' responses to anything from an awkward social interaction to absolute catastrophe.
  • Does her best to keep a level head for herself. Generally reacts to things quietly rather than loudly; too much pressure changes that, and can even bring her to tears, but dedication to a cause and person keeps her focused.
  • Being brought to tears is normally a 'last straw on the camel's back' type of deal, ending in absolute sobbing- but she's also cried in relief before as well. Stress crying is just, a thing she does.
  • An empathetic person, capable of reading a person's character with relative ease. When material evidence conflicts this, she tends to default (after some internal conflict) to her initial gut sense.
  • To that end, very trusting of those she's familiar with/'judged' as 'good'- she questions the actions and requests of such people significantly less than others.
  • Good investigation instinct; she's naturally skilled when it comes to tracking down information and clues toward a goal or problem, and the sense of when to utilize deceit to avoid being found out.
  • She's also intelligent in general- Yasuho's the problem solver for just about every fight she's part of in Part 8, which often requires understanding outside that investigative field.
  • Yasuho doesn't give the impression of someone with a determination streak, but she's got one; once she sets her eyes on a matter, she pursues it hard and many times to her detriment.
  • Connected to that, if you are clearly doing harm to someone she has decided she cares for, she will Not Hestiate to bean you with a pole, actually. (Nor will she hesitate to threaten worse.)
  • Her first instinct in an awkward scenario is to draw back- but if she's stuck in a group of people doing harmless but strange things in the name of camadrie, she's likely to laugh nervously and join in herself. When in??? Rome???

  • AU Name: N/A
    AU Birthday: October 28

    AU History:
  • Yasuho was born and raised in Kaisou, to a then married Japanese-American mother and a similarly American father. While she took after her mother for the most part, her eyes and hair came from her father; Blonde, with blue eyes. When she was young, her father divorced however- Yasuho stayed with her mother, seeing him only on weekends from then on.
  • From here, her mother did what she could to raise her- unfortunately she continued with the carefree approach that had driven her husband to divorce, and began to add alcohol into the mix. This attitude caused tension to build between herself and Yasuho, as Yasuho began to distance herself from her and idealize her father instead.
  • For the next few years, Yasuho's personal stress began to build; she felt ostracized by her friends and classmates, and as many young pre-teens do, felt there was very few in the world that understood her.
  • It was around this time that she came in contact with a potentially cursed object; 'Potentially' is the key word- from Yasuho's perspective, she purchased for herself a beautiful (but cheap) hair clip. Around that time, 'everything' started going wrong; her fights with her mother got worse, her father admitted that he would be unable to take custody of her on the weekends as he was moving away from the area, and in her stress she forgot about a friend's birthday...leading her class to harass her for her carelessness. To Yasuho, it was coincidence, and a bad time.
  • CW: Suicide Attempt
Between everything pressuring her, and the perception that she was alone in it, Yasuho ultimately attempted to take her life in her washroom when she was 13; her mother would find her there after coming home early from work, and call a hospital in time.

  • While in the hospital, the attending Doctor would give Yasuho advice and encouragement- (It would also come out that in the rush to bring her in, the hairclip she'd been wearing had fallen and been crushed underfoot, though Yasuho would ultimately keep the pieces)- inspired by her words, Yasuho would find herself leaving the hospital feeling like a weight was removed. She was never as close to her mother as she had been her father, and the friendships she thought she had in middleschool were ones she ultimately moved on from- but Yasuho found herself entering high school able to look forward to the future rather than dwelling on it.
  • From there until currently, Yasuho determined she wanted to be able to help others the way the doctor had helped her, by going into counselling; while the doctor had certainly helped physically, it was on the emotional and mental level that she'd been helped most.
  • So for now- Yasuho Hirose is 19 years old, attending University in Kaisou for Sociology. She lives at home with her mother, who she loves dearly but still has something of a rocky relationship with. And now there's a weird app on her phone. uh,

  • AU Personality Differences:
  • She seems to have a healthier understanding of when a gut feeling might be off. No more 'what do you mean my ex-boyfriend wants you dead' here, folks.
  • Since she hasn't had that grand adventure of a lifetime, she's significantly less traumatized! Unfortunately (?), this also means she's more likely to break down over the piled stress of exams, family problems, etc etc, and then just. Straight up drive herself into an exhausted state of resignation over anything far worse. ...Not too unlike early canon in that regard.
  • Fortunately (??) that also means she's a smidge louder than canon when it comes to 'hey? This??? This is WEIRD???'
  • Lacking the direction of her canon self means she can be a bit of a rumor hound at times. It's not so bad that she's in everyone's business, but if something Strange crops up she's likely to start digging after it.

  • NOTE: Yasuho's hairpin was indeed mildly cursed; per the requirements of a Normal AU (as implied in her history), she had no idea of this fact, nor any reason to even suspect as much.

    Character Name: Zhongli
Canon: Genshin Impact (Black Order AU)
Canon History: The CEO of Geo himself.

    Canon Personality:
🔸 Stoic. Not to be confused with stubborn, Zhongli is something of a supportive rock for those around him, and it can be difficult to tell what he is thinking. (But he might be a little obstinate when it comes to certain things.)
🔸 Calm. Similarly, he's polite and reserved, and not prone to raising his voice or causing trouble (on purpose, anyway).
🔸 Sentimental. Zhongli has an affinity for things and people that have a long memory, much like him. Though, he isn't above disposing of priceless artifacts when they do not belong in the world anymore.
🔸 Caring. It seems that no one has a bad word to say about Zhongli. He has acted as a guide and mentor for countless characters met over the course of the quests in Liyue, and continues to do so in modern day.
🔸 Traditional. As something of a walking historian, he places special emphasis on rituals, traditions, and old beliefs. This is why he is given the position he holds at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, but it comes to light very frequently in all he does.
🔸 Materialistic. He has a taste for the finer things: good food, good drink, fine clothes, finer entertainment. From the outside this may seem shallow, but it stems from a deep appreciation of the wealth (both material and cultural) of Liyue. It can drive people up the wall, though.
🔸 Knowledgeable. Zhongli knows a little about a lot of things, a bit like a walking Wikipedia. Unfortunately, he mostly uses these powers to offer trivia rather than doing anything of tangible benefit. That, after all, would be acting as a god and not the "normal mortal man", Zhongli.
🔸 Kind. Zhongli's numerous deeds as Rex Lapis range from the generous (giving a blind old elemental the power of sight) to...
🔸 Unyielding. As a god, he was feared for his great power. He fought and killed many just like him. "Good and evil have nothing to do with it" is the way he thinks.
🔸 Lawful. Contracts are law, and law is binding. Without contracts and standards there is only chaos, and no measure of what can be considered "good" or "bad". Those who break contracts are said to suffer the "wrath of the rock", which is an unspecified punishment but one that strikes fear into Liyue's people nevertheless. It can be surmised that Rex Lapis had turned more than a few people into stone as punishment.
🔸 Fair. Though he might literally have buried people who betrayed others, he tries to make the punishment suit the crime. He's mellowed out enough over the years that breaking a contract won't mean he'll appear like a grim reaper and kill someone, but he's also not afraid to take his gloves off should someone be hostile.
🔸 Merciful. There are certainly a few instances where he could have killed people for breaking their word, but instead he lets them go with a lesson having been learned. This is not the same as letting it slide; he chooses the truth as punishment for one young misguided lady who is convinced that Rex Lapis murdered her people's god, and he gives a Fatui member a good beating for breaking the same contract.
🔸 Modest. Though he is a god of great power and deeds, Zhongli understates his abilities and doesn't like to take credit for things. His association with historians and archaeologists is not only out of desire to learn, but perhaps to gently correct some assumptions made about his character in history. (He knows such things are often futile, though.)
🔸 Hindsight. His wisdom was hard-won. Though the Warrior God of Liyue has a history of violence (and is even called "brutish" by another god), the severity of the wars he fought, grievous losses suffered, and burden of leadership wore down his sharp edges. He is keenly aware of his history, however. A part of that still lurks beneath that calm veneer, and always will.
🔸 Bad with money. The worst combination: materialistic, but also completely unable to grasp the concept of not having wealth when you need it. Zhongli has spent most of his existence able to conjure gold at whatever convenience, but in his "new" life as a mere mortal man, he no longer can. He has no real concept of how much things cost even though he can tell when something is valuable. Haggling? What's that?
🔸 Reluctant to lead. Zhongli is someone who really just hates responsibility. He took charge in the aftermath of the Guili Assembly's fall because it was the only choice. Otherwise, the people he strove to protect would die. Weak gods who can't protect anything could end up destroyed by their own people, a fact he knew well. He might have some knowledge of politics, but he wasn't eager to play the game.
🔸 Clever. This guy faked his death as part of an elaborate plan to test his beloved nation's resilience. Seeing them able to unite and dispose of a threat he would normally have dealt with himself, he was happy to cede his position and step into retirement. Though he can't take credit for masterminding every single moving part, it's still incredibly frustrating to his companions that he pulled it off... and interesting.
🔸 Tired. After so long as a ruler in touch with his people, and having walked alongside them for thousands of years, Zhongli is more than ready to step out of the limelight. He is weary, but not cynical. His motive for retirement was the simple wish to have someone say to him, "You've finished your duties, go ahead and call it a day." In all his years of service, he never shied away from his work, or took a vacation... He's ready.
🔸 Hopeful. Though the fate of old gods is to sometimes go mad, Zhongli's definition of erosion can be attributed to losing friends, and to the way he himself has been changed over the years. He isn't in any danger of going mad, but he also knows not to overstay his welcome. It's his firm belief after seeing his people come together and the Traveler's deeds that the future is in good hands.

    AU Name: Fang Zhongli (方钟离)
    AU Birthday: 12/31
    Faction: Black Order

AU History: Zhongli was born in something of a contentious era of history. He served underneath a bloodthirsty warlord in feudal China, and became known for his ferocity as well as his honor. Some called him a zealot, others called him fair, but no one would dare call him gentle. Fearing that his most trusted warrior would betray him and take over ruling his territory, the warlord had him ambushed and arrested for treason. This was a clear breach of their contract and the warlord's word. As he was tied up and prepared to be executed, Zhongli's powers awakened; in an explosion of earth and fury, he buried all who opposed him beneath massive stone spears, and there was silence.

Realizing that he could no longer live as a human, he used his past memories as an archon to guide his path forward. He would eventually take many names as he lived through the ages as an observer. At times he would intervene for purely personal reasons, but for the most part he was content to live, observe, and record the important events of his nation's history as he saw them. Among his many professions he'd tried: manual laborer, fisherman, shoemaker's apprentice, librarian, potter, and lawyer.

During his travels he fell into the company of another immortal companion, and they became best friends. They spent centuries walking the same path, talking at length about philosophies, the course of history, the endless possibilities of the future. But something... strange happened in his friend. They began to erode, to fracture, and go mad. Eventually they lost the semblance of humanity they'd gained, and became a danger even to Zhongli himself. His power alone wasn't enough to contain them.

He could neither bring himself to kill his friend nor could he bear anyone else to do it. It would be a betrayal of the contract they had made, where Zhongli served as their eyes to guide them in the world above. So Zhongli sought the help of someone else—an organization not quite as old as he was, but well-established, that helped with such issues when they concerned the realms of gods. Zhongli arranged to meet an agent of the Black Order through his many contacts and he explained the situation.

Naturally he had prepared a 300 page contract detailing his terms and conditions. In exchange for sealing his friend and preventing them from further descending into rampaging madness, Zhongli would assist the Black Order with whatever they required. If Zhongli managed to grow in power that he could seal or do away with his friend himself, or if the Black Order could no longer uphold their end of the deal, he would be able to terminate the contract. After 1000 years of service, if Zhongli still had not found an alternate solution, the Black Order would have the authority to dispose of his friend however they saw fit. Either way Zhongli would lose his friend since sealing essentially returned his friend to mundane status and gave him a normal life... but with this contract he would have the incentive to look for an alternative solution, where perhaps his friend could be saved and have their memories returned... and if not, Zhongli at least could seal them under his own power, and no longer rely on the Black Order for support.

His proposal accepted and the contract signed, Zhongli then spent another few decades in the basement as an archivist, occasionally racking up insane amounts on the budget and acting as a consultant for various matters, before he was finally sent to Kaisou under specific orders. No one knew how to get out of the contract with him and their legal team was already inundated with helpful "corrections" from Zhongli himself, so this seemed the best option.

AU Personality Differences: Zhongli is still very, very old and has the perspective of an observer, though he's soft and sentimental for slightly different reasons. He has the burden of memory and has lost a lot of friends, but it was due to the normal human wars he lived through and the passage of time. He also doesn't carry the guilt of the Archon War, though he remembers bits and pieces of it; he remembers enough that it actively prevents him from wanting to take any responsibility as a leader post awakening. He believes he is a very poor choice of leader and would end up stepping down much like his other self did, and as he's keenly aware of his humanity here, he isn't sure he could do it without going mad from the pressure... arguably his own version of erosion.

Unlike the Zhongli in Teyvat who had the aid of numerous creatures and personalities to stabilize and assure his eventual reign, this one doesn't have as many immortal friends, so he's spent far more of his time alone. He still has that craving for contact, though.

    Element: Earth, obviously.
    Purchased Powers:
🔸 Fucking glowing archon hair why (2 pts)
    🔸 Gold eyes (1 pt)
🔸 True immortality (cannot die or be killed) (4 pts)
🔸 Master elemental manipulation (earth) (4 pts)

    Character Name: Ryouta Ibuki
    Canon: Tokyo Xanadu
Canon History: Tokyo Xanadu eX+, Ryouta

Canon Personality: 🦤 An actual dumbass. The first thing he did when he started high school was to profess his love to Jun and ask him out without realizing that Jun isn't a girl.

🦤 He's not even super against liking guys. He's just so lost in Narnia that he actually doesn't realize he's bi as fuck. Boy literally starts listing off why Gorou is so handsome and will go KYAAAAAH ♥ with the other girls when he's praised.

🦤 Ryouta is a kid who stops after starting something, either because it's too difficult or because he loses interest in it. Or because he really just can't be bothered going through with it anymore.

🦤 That said, during a film that a club at his school puts together, Ryouta does seem to have a genuine talent for acting. It's definitely rough in that just starting out way, but he could actually make a career out of it if he wanted to. Or realized he could.

🦤 He's high-key supportive of his friends. Whenever they're in trouble or feeling down, Ryouta will help them out.

🦤 Very afraid of the occult. Please, no more ghost stories. PLEASE.

🦤 Despite his dumb of ass tendencies, Ryouta is very much in tune with how people feel. ...Unless it comes to crushing on him, then he's about as perceptive as a pile of bricks labeled "GAY." Still, he notices when Kou is being distant and does actively try to ask him what's going on, and if he needs to worry about his best friend.

🦤 He's a HUGE fan of SPiKA, an idol group. Ryouta goes to as many of their concerts as he can, and genuinely supports them. When they were missing their leader, Rion, Ryouta's the one who shouts encouragement to the other girls, and gets the rest of the crowd on his side.

    AU Name: N/A
    AU Birthday: April 14th

AU History: Ryouta was born in Tokyo, Japan and lived there for about a year or two before his family moved overseas to Washington, D.C. His household was a warm one. They incorporated both American and Japanese culture into their lifestyle, and his parents taught him both English and Japanese languages. He wasn't the brightest Crayon in the box, but he had a big heart and made a lot of friends throughout his school life.

However, as he grew older and started needing to think about his future, he started feeling as if college just wasn't in the cards for him. Ryouta promised his parents that he would try community college, at the very least, and shoot for maybe a Liberal Arts of Social Sciences degree. The most basic, but it would get his foot in the door for future endeavors if he was successful.

He wanted to strike out somewhere quiet and to get more experience living on his own, away from his family. His parents were supportive, wanting to help in whatever way they could. As long as he promised to keep his grades up to at least a C and called them if he couldn't visit during the holidays. Ryouta promised, and he started shopping around for potential colleges. He found one in Kaisou, and was accepted into their Liberal Arts program. His parents had enough money that they could help him until he found his footing, but Ryouta insisted that he take care of it all on his own once he had a steady job.

That was how Ryouta ended up in Kaisou with an eccentric roommate or two at a cheap apartment. He got a job at a 7-11 and as a waiter in a restaurant for part-time work while he went to school.

AU Personality Differences: 🦤 The school struggle is so real.

🦤 Ryouta is a lot more blasé about being in danger. When you work at a 7-11, you get used to it. And you invest in self-defense classes. There's never been a 7-11 that wasn't sketchy.

🦤 He has perfected that Customer Service Voice.

🦤 Given he lived in DC, Ryouta is more... comfortable with himself, but also still very much unaware of his sexuality. He just thinks men and women are neat!

    Canon: Tokyo Xanadu
Canon History: Shio, the game itself on the fandom wiki, tmw the fandom wiki situation is so dire you actually stoop to linking wikipedia (I know I didn't need to link all three of these but I wanted to be thorough)

    Canon Personality:
    - When he's first encountered, he's mentioned as being surprisingly chill for being Morimiya's biggest troublemaker
    - Comes off as a stereotypical "lone wolf" type
    - Tried to take sole responsibility for things and take care of it on his own before he got smacked upside the head with "hey don't do that"
    - Readily looks out for others, he steps in when Akihiro's BLAZE causes trouble and comes to multiple others' aid; his initial, immediate concern/priority(/"hey Tokisaka what the FUCK") after rescuing Kou and either Yuuki or Sora when they were investigating the club is that Kou brought along a first-year
    - He cares so much, look at this guy he is a dad
    - Serious and fairly reserved
    - He can get pretty damn hot-blooded, though
    - (Don't piss him off)

    AU Name: N/A
    AU Birthday: August 19th

AU History: - An orphan from the next town over, Shio Takahata bounced around the foster care system for a bit
    - After a few years, he made a friend! He and that friend decided that the two of them should look out for other kids in the system, and thus formed a group they named BLAZE as a way to do so.
    - Things went pretty well for a while, but eventually they got out of hand, running into trouble with an actual gang, who took one of the BLAZE members hostage. Shio's friend and co-leader ended up fatally stabbed as a result of this incident.
    - Shio considered disbanding BLAZE for a while, but eventually, he passed leadership on to someone else in the group.
    - It's not long after this that he's sent to live with (and subsequently adopted by) a family in Kaisou (there may have been a smidge of interference by a well-meaning and well-to-do family in the area to make sure he got adopted)
    - He finished high school in Kaisou, and is currently attending the university (undecided major). He also works at the restaurant his adoptive parents own.
    - If any trouble crops up with his old friends, that's a problem for Future Shio

AU Personality Differences: Honestly, he's not that different, ultimately. More or less the same problems, just a different location.

    Character Name: Rren
Canon: Star Trek - Yr. 2407 - OC
Canon History: The long of it.
The short of it: Rren was a synth created in the late 2370s, one of several A500 units created to work at a couple manufacturing and mining facilities. They were not originally even what could be defined as sentient. But a pirate stole rescued them and messed with their programming and they decided to stick around with his crew. Shortly after the synth ban came into place their original body was destroyed and they spent their life since then as a ship, manifesting as a hologram. The captain dispersed the crew without telling everyone Rren had survived, but left their friend, Khell with the ship Rren had been integrated with.

The two shifted away from piracy(Though they would be the last to admit it), falling more into scavenging and information theft (Because with the power of a small black hole and a full ship computer processing power to back Rren, not many systems could keep them out, and they took full advantage of this to prank ships on occasion, not just skim off some of their classified data). The goal was mostly sticking off the radar. Rren... sometimes failed miserably at this if they picked up distress calls that no one else was in range to answer, sometimes waking up Khell to let her know to get ready, they were on their way to a rescue mission. Fortunately they somehow avoided notice until after the ban was lifted again.

    Canon Personality:
    • They care about people quickly and are very quick to trust.
    • They can be very stubborn, a bit petty, and very proud (If they mess up they will keep going unless stopped rather than admit they were wrong.)
    • Are they going to analyze the situation and come to a logical conclusion or are they going to jump right in impulsively (and deny it was impulsive)? I just don't know!
    • They have an unfortunate fight/flight ratio. (Fight: 90%, Flight: 0%, Smart-Alec: 10%).
    • The fact the have deactivated their emotions whenever they got in the way, means Rren never really learned how to handle emotions after getting them. This means any time they can't be deactivated for some reason they can have very intense outbursts.
    • They have a dry sense of humor and play up how they used to not have emotions. They avoid contractions and using them is usually a sign of some sort of intense emotion.
    • Likes: Traveling, colorful clothing and decorations, birdsong, stories, hacking, art
    • Dislikes: Being under-stimulated be it in environment or situation, fashion they feel is lacking or doesn't fit the person wearing it.
    • They have almost entirely changed their appearance since ending up in a ship computer. Why stick with the cookie cutter A500 Android look if you don't have to, right? - Note: They are non-binary both in canon and AU.
      AppearanceA Character Sheet for Rren

AU Name: "Rren" Arren* Irwin *(Pronounced Ah-ren)
    AU Birthday: June 20th

AU History: Rren's family moved around a great deal while they were growing up, and this may have been a factor in their parents divorce. Not that Rren minded much. Their contact with their mother has been limited and strained since and they avoid answering her phone calls if they can help it. Rren and their father only moved to Kaisou this past summer.

They are currently 19 and since high school, they have mostly just gone for jobs that sounded interesting, and turned in their notice whenever they got bored. As far as college goes, they take classes here and there at the community/technical college, with much the same reasoning. They are currently taking an art and a computer programming class. They currently don't have a job, but toss in applications here and there.

This tendency might have caused more tension with their father, if he were home more often, but while they aren't moving anymore as a family, he still travels more often than not for his job, and Rren living at home means there's at least someone there maintaining it. Which, for all they haven't managed much steadily otherwise, Rren has kept up with that diligently. They keep everything clean, if a little on the cluttered side. They have been not so slowly shifting their small bit of lawn into a pollinator friendly garden. (Hopefully there isn't an HOA getting ready to throw a fit, it did not occur to them to look into that.)

In their free time they draw/paint, play video games(Stuff along the vein of Animal Crossing is their favorite, but they also go for action/adventure and various MMOs), go shopping(Especially if they have someone to do go with), explore walking trails and the city overall, climb stuff they may or may not be able to get down from, and slowly chase stray/outdoor cats with treats making pspsps sounds, because they will pet every cat in the city dangit.

    AU Personality Differences:
    • Seeing as they didn't live 10 years with no emotions, it isn't a factor in their personality. They show their emotions more freely and while they use them less than most people, they do use contractions. While a bit awkward, they actually know how to handle emotions, kind of, sort of(Not well).
    • They may still enjoy computers and coding, but without code being an essential part of their nature, they have put a lot more focus into art than they did otherwise.
    • They didn't essentially grow up as a pirate/haven't been betrayed by a major government(yet). This means they're more conscious of rules and not prone to just freely breaking them. (For instance: Even if they could hack into classified files and sell them, they wouldn't. ... Probably. What are you offering?)

    Character Name: Raiden Ei
Canon: (If OC or CRAU, please note it here)
    Canon History: Here

    Canon Personality:
If nothing else, Ei is filled with resolve. Once she sets on a path, she rarely, if ever stays her course. Any challenge she takes, she sees to the end. Her self-imposed eternity is one example of this. She stays on the Plane of Euthymia for centuries, in order to find a version of eternity that she finds acceptable to her people. Once she sets a course, she never wavers nor deters. Her actions not only speak of this, but so does her reputation. She's known across Inazuma as an unchanging force in an ever-changing world.

Her resolve was solidified the moment she lost her sister and her friends. Because she suffered the death of those closest to her, she vowed to do what she could to never suffer such loss again. She resolves to finish the battle, and carries out her sister’s will. Her experience in the Euthymia plane solidifies this resolve; the longer she spends in meditations the closer she can come to finding her idea of eternity.

Although her self-imposed isolation was in part a coping tactic, it has been a positive experience for her. Alone with her thoughts, she was able to contemplate a better eternity for her people. Although it’s not clear whether or not this isolation is will give her an answer, it’s important because it makes her feel like she’s growing close to the answer. The one thing Ei fears above all else is erosion, and her self-imposed solitude is an answer to that. It’s important to her resolve because it is one of the steps she’s taking to reach her goal, thus making her resolve worthwhile.

Ei also works for her people. Her decision to create the puppet Raiden Shogun was in part inspired by her desire to provide her people with a perfect ruler. As an imperfect being, she would be subject to erosion over time. The Raiden Shogun, however, a puppet that she endeavored to create in her likeness, would never falter. The Raiden Shogun's will is absolute. Ei created the Shogun so that even she, its creator, could not easily change the programming. There were several reasons for this, but first and foremost, she feared that an attempt to change the Shogun's "programming" (so to speak) would mean that she had faltered in her resolve. The Inazuma that her sister loved and held dear deserved, if nothing else, a perfect ruler.

Her character quests and interactions with Aether/Lumine exemplify this. When the traveler asks Ei to spend a day with them touring the city, she reluctantly agrees. This serves to be an eye-opening experience for her. Though she’s served as her people’s ruler for a long time, she’s never taken the time to spend on the street with them. When she does, she goes so far as to ask that a merchant’s product (dango milk) be delivered door-to-door so that her people can enjoy it. She cares for her people, and the traveler gave her a good experience to help deepen that care and that bond.

Although it's not a word most would use to describe her, Raiden Ei is childish. Her self-imposed isolation is something that she began to seek the best for her people, and it's something that she likely believed to be true. However, it was also a way to hide from her pain. Yae Miko describes her isolation as Ei essentially pouting when she doesn't get her way. Though she pretends to be an emotionless being, she's anything but. Sometimes, her emotions are so overwhelming that the only thing she can do is hide from them in her own world (literally).

Although it was ultimately for her own good, it’s difficult to say that Ei initially viewed Yae coming into her plane as anything but an annoyance. It’s not every day that she had company, she had been left with her thoughts alone for years. Not only that, but Yae came in and berated her for acting like a child. It was probably an overwhelming moment for Ei (although she wouldn’t show it), and so she asked to be left alone again after her and Yae spoke. Because she’s childish, it’s hard for Ei to accept her own faults.

Raiden Ei is also gullible. There are only certain situations where this is true, however. In a battle, for example, she is unlikely to ever miss anything. When it comes to ruling, however, she often misses the forest for the trees. Because Raiden Ei had left the day-to-day matters of Inazuma in the hands of the Raiden Shogun, she was unaware of how the Vision Hunt Decree was received. She was being fed false information by a foreign power, and never once thought to check (or to have the Raiden Shogun check) the reports, leaving it to those below her.

    AU Name: Ei Inazuma

    AU Birthday: June 26th

    Faction: Black Order

AU History: Inazuma Ei was born to a well-off family in Japan in the early 90s. Her father was a CEO of a rather large and powerful company in Japan, and she spent her early years spending her time after school in various activities, her favorite of were was kendo and naginata.

When she was eleven, her house caught on fire and burned down during a heavy thunderstorm. Tragically, her twin sister perished in the fire, and this became the defining moment of Ei's life. Before, her and her twin had existed as a pair. Though they had different interests (Makoto was interested in ikebana, while Ei was interested in kendo), the two could hardly be separated. Even among their friends, Makoto was considered to be the outgoing one, with Ei being her shadow. When Makoto passed, Ei withdrew from her friends.

At this point, Ei had continued to attend school, but strange things kept happening. On the day her sister passed, the lightning did not stop. As Ei cried, the lightning continued to strike near her home, long past what was originally forecasted. When she returned to school two weeks later, things got weird. When she entered a room, the lights would flicker. When she tried to use the computer, it short-circuited. Things came to a head when her father took her to his office building in Tokyo and Ei had a panic attack, that proceeded to knock out power to the greater Tokyo area for a whole 12 hours.

This is what drew the Black Order's attention. Before she knew it, she had been approached. To her, it seemed like a no-brainer. Just as Ei did not want to lose her memories of her twin sister, neither did she want to lose the memories of a twin sister she had in a past life.

Currently, Ei lives as a grad student in Silicon Valley. She has since become a NEET. Her loss of her twin sister lead her to focusing her research on artificial intelligence, so that she, and everyone she knows, can find a way to live on after death. While she is more than happy to go on missions for the Black Order, her primary skills are in computers. She is able to handle herself with a sword, however, as even once she shut herself in she continued to practice kendo and naginata.

AU Personality Differences: Not really? Just as Raiden Ei cares for her citizens, Inazuma Ei cares for the fellow members of the black Order.

    Character Name: Dante.
    Canon: Devil May Cry.
Canon Point: After postgame cutscene of DMC5, where Dante and Vergil (now trapped in the demon world) are having a grand old time bonding and fighting demons.
    Birthday: June 30th!
    History: Here!

    Personality:
"It's not about loss... strength is a choice. Fighting like hell to protect what's important. You threw away everything you ever had... no wonder you have no true power!"

Dante is an asshole with a heart of gold, a man who has gone through more shit than he can count and still somehow made out the other side better for it. Not that any of it shows.

At his core Dante is almost the epitome of the devil may care attitude. He is flippant, sarcastic, and massive show off even when there is no one around to watch him. He's the sort of person who looks at a demon about ten times his size and instead of being serious, or ever afraid, he spends a few minutes judging the demon's state of dress─ or lack there of. He is quite casual in life threatening situations, making off handed jokes when someone crashes through his window with a motorbike, or shot in the head by a someone whose life he just saved. This naturally makes Dante come off as laid-back asshole, someone who is never without a witty taunt or come back, that never takes anything seriously.

But there is more to Dante to witty one liners. He's a man with a lot more layers than that and reasons for the way that he is. A lot of that stems from the trauma he experienced as a child, the day Mundus sent demons after the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda's family; a human woman named Eva and her two boys, Dante and Vergil. That fateful night Eva hid Dante away in a closet before going back into their now burning home to find his brother, only she never managed to find and instead Dante got to watch his mother die at the hands of demons. This became a driving force in a lot of his young life, the very reason he started hunting demons in the first place. Eventually he got his revenge, taking down the very demon that was responsible for running his childhood and killing his mother, gaining something found family in it's place.

Notably friends and family is one of the most important things to Dante. He loved his mother, his father, and most importantly his brother Vergil. They haven't seen eye to eye in years but there is nobody nearly as important to him as his twin. Even after being stabbed and their many battles, Dante still tried to stop Vergil from falling into the demon world, even mourning his brother's loss after the portal between the worlds closed. It was during the events of Temen-ni-gru that he would bond with a fellow demon hunter, Lady, and later a demon made in his mother's image, Trish, the two of them became as close as family─ the only family Dante believed to have since Vergil fell into hell, only to reappear as a servant of Mundus forcing Dante to ultimately kill him.

This all changed, however, when Dante went to Fortuna and encountered Nero. They didn't get off on the right foot, fought of number of times, but towards the end of things Dante came to the realization of who Nero truly was. That the boy was none other than Vergil's son and his nephew. Family. Dante brought him into the fold, gifting Nero a sign for his van, even going so far as to express open concern for him and warning against fighting Urizen again. Sure, Dante may not have used to best words (have gone so far as to call Nero "dead weight") but it came from a good place. His concern comes up again later on when he relieves to Nero the true nature of the relationship between himself and Vergil, trying to spare Nero the pain of killing his own father. He might not always be the best at vocalizing it, but he really does care.

Aside from family Dante loves a good fight. Yet despite any trash talk that is likely to occur, he is somewhat respectful to his opponents. He likes a fair fight, restraining himself when fighting an opponent clearly not on his level (his first fight with Nero, for instance). On the flip side he is also quick to unleash his full power when faced with an opponent who is closer to his level. This is no more obvious than his conflicts with Vergil. He readily throws everything he has at him knowing full well that Vergil will do the very same. Even in battle Dante is an unapologetic show off, making sure to be as flashy as possible much to the chagrin of his opponents.

This does sometimes lead to problems, however, as often flashy fights lead Dante into having bills for property damage or a motorcycle he borrowed from a friend without asking. Dante often seems to be in a considerable amount to debt, not hesitating to complain about it at any given moment. However it is a problem of his own making. While his style of combat often leaves behind large bills, he also has a habit of taking on jobs without any thought of monetary value─ granted that they have something to do with demon hunting. While he might be a jerk with heart of gold, helping people and not taking money from poorer clients, he is still a jerk and will flat out refuse to take on a job, regardless of how much it might pay, because he damn well can. Or if he doesn't like the sound of it.

So in the end, yeah, Dante can be a bit of a dick. He's been through his fair share in life and somehow managed to come out the other side a half-decent person. Sure, he loves pizza and strawberry sundaes a bit too much, he can be obnoxious at times and he isn't the cleanest person alive─ But he has a good heart.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: ASAP BABY. Honestly I am fine with him walking in today 3/4/2023 late with starbucks. It's very Dante of him.

In regards to the labyrinth the only idea I have is his childhood home either before and after the fire that his mother died in, please go crazy and make this man's experience as fun as possible. He has a lot of bagging you can play with.

Items: Look at him and his collection of demonic weaponry...

    Ebony & Ivory.
    Dr. Faust.
    Devil Sword Dante.
    Balrog.
    • the clothes on his back.

    Retained Abilities:
Stares directly into the abyss of the shit Dante can do... We'll start... small-ish.

Accelerated Healing ─ Dante is capable of rapidly healing from serious wounds without breaking so much as a sweat. He survived being ambushed by multiple Hells Prides who basically shishkabobed him, has been stabbed more times than he can count, and pulled himself off multiple swords while said swords were embedded in things. You'd have to do something insane like chop off his head to stop Dante from healing from any wounds he gets. (3 points)

    Other Characters: Vash the Stampede

    Character Name: Vergil
    Canon: Devil May Cry 5
    Canon History: Historyeee

    Canon Personality:

"Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself."

🔹 Has (mostly) complete control over his emotions. He doesn't get explosively angry or show many emotions that are too strong in one direction of another. He has a deep focus on keeping himself under a certain level of professionalism, and as a result he tends to come off as cold, impassive, and without any strong emotions. Only when something truly sets him off--when things don't go his way, or when he's frustrated to a point where he can't maintain the calmness he forces into his demeanour--does he let anything slip. When he does, his small bursts of emotion don't last long as he struggles to put a cap on them soon after they've managed to escape.

🔹 An extreme introvert. Vergil exudes a feeling of someone who truly isn't one to get close to others; he doesn't develop personal relationships (not even with his brother, who he regularly used to try to kill) and he holds everyone else in his life at an arm's length, as if he's afraid to get close to them. This likely stems back to when he was a child and he first experienced loss; as his one true wish in life was that, way back then, all he wanted was to be protected and loved. Older and Jaded as he is now, he seems to believe he doesn't need it--or, perhaps, that he doesn't deserve it.

🔹 A man of great pride. Hates fighting dirty, Vergil has a sense of honor, regardless of what the situation is. He despises dirty tricks, low blows, or even going up against an opponent who has a disadvantage in any sort of altercation against him. This stems back to his need to be seen as superior above others, to prove to those who witness him--and himself--that he's strong, and that he doesn't need to rely on cheap tricks or underhanded means to win. It's a pride thing, and dear god this man has a sense of pride that's through the roof.

🔹 Overly formal, in everything he does. When speaking, he tends to use antiquated language or long, drawn out speech where simple sentences or shortcuts would do. This once again likely hooks back into his sense of pride as a person--as well as his obsession with old literature, poetry, and history. Once again, he only seems to break free of this sort of staunch way of speaking when he's frustrated or angry--quickly regaining focus once he's collected himself.

🔹 A high focus on himself--a lust for power. One of Vergil's most driving traits is that he lives for improving himself, almost to a point of breaking. He was made to feel weak and useless when he was a child; left alone with noone to protect or save him when he was nearly ravaged apart by demons and as a result, it's pressed the idea cold-stone in his mind that the only way he'll never feel like that again is to constantly gain power. It's his obsession, like a drug--he's blind to nearly everything else in his life in his pursuit of getting stronger.

🔹 Extremely strong-willed. Both as a child and an adult-- being put in a situation where he very well could have died due to being so much weaker than those aiming to kill him, he has a drive to survive. Killing those who meant to kill him, surviving for years under the torture and madness of the underworld under Mundus before cracking--surviving long enough to steal Nero's arm to assure his survival when falling apart--Vergil is the sort of person to keep going forward until his body breaks down and he can no longer move. And even then, he'd find a way to get back onto his feet.

    AU Name: Vergil Vittore
    AU Birthday: June 30th

AU History: Coming from an affluential family background in Italy, Vittore graduated summa cum laude from University of Milan, Majoring in History with several minors in things such as language, literature, and folklore. While in his earlier years he attempted becoming a teacher, he quickly learned he doesn't have the patience to teach others, nor to babysit them through life, as his goals have always been bettering himself.

He instead used some of his inheritance money from his passed-on mother to buy himself a shop which he quickly used to start buying and selling antiquities from people who likely didn't know their true value or worth. Within ten years he became quite apt at it to a point where he's now comfortably living while mostly only buying things that interest him--such as old poetry books or interesting weapons.

He likely would have contented himself in remaining a quiet antiquated items dealer, however, it all came to a head when a patron in his shop sold him a very peculiar book which Vittore would normally never buy as it had no clear origins or historical value--yet when opening it, he found himself in a trance, reading it while ignoring everything around him for the next 24h.
Upon waking from his stupor, he found the mysterious bookseller gone, his shop somehow intact, and yet with nothing missing. As if the entire world had paused around him for an entire day. This is when he woke up to the existence of magic as he woke up to having strange abilities of his own, and his interests changed to learn more and more about this world that previously was completely hidden from him.

After about six months of research into this previously completely hidden world, he learned of Kaisou, and spent a large chunk of his fortune to move his entire shop and livelihood to the city where the supernatural is the norm, and he hopes to learn more magic and skills--as well as buy and collect magical items and artifacts to add to his collection. As so far, he has no idea that he lived another life as a different person--something that will likely change as he spends his days in Kaisou.

When reading the paranormal book, it put his body through a number of changes that 'awoke' him to the supernatural--gave him a few magic abilities as well as started him down a path where he'll eventually start to remember his past self. While he hasn't regained any of his previous self's powers, he eventually will--on top of the powers he gained from the world itself when awakening.

Currently, he's been in Kaisou for about three weeks, setting up his antiquities shop and has mostly been keeping to himself, until he's ready to open it and start buying and selling goods. It has an attached apartment upstairs and he lives alone.

    AU Personality Differences:

🔹 In his AU, he will still be driven to gain new powers as he's fascinated with the existence of magic and the paranormal--however, his drive for it will be far less suicidal and focused. More of a hobby and an interest than an obsession.

🔹 He will also likely be a little more open to personal relationships, as his AU self did not suffer the abandonment and horrifying death of his mother and the feeling of being left behind by everyone who cared about him.

    Canon: Trigun: Stampede
Canon Point: Episode 12, post JuLai incident
Birthday: Orphans don't get birthdays, but for Mr. Skeletal purposes, we'll go with December 1st.
History: So this is a wiki but as TriStamp is the new kid on the block, it's missing some specifics, so to sum up:
He grew up in an orphanage and had a pretty chill time for an eight year old with a smoking habit until he tested as being highly compatible with chemicals, at which point he was blessed and selected by the Eye of Michael organization to undergo grueling human experimentation that appears to have physically aged him up on top of making him great at catching bullets with his tits and getting folded like one of those fancy crepes with too much extra stuff in them.

He tried to make a break for it at one point and that was a terrible idea, one two skip a few, the Eye of Michael blackmailed/strongly appealed at him into working for them as an assassin by threatening to experiment on his proxy little brother (which, spoilers, they did anyway like a bunch of jerks), and all that leads up to Wolfwood taking a contract to babysit Vash the Stampede all the way to Knives' vacation bible school in Julai. He poses as an Undertaker in this incarnation instead of a Priest, for some reason. Probably couldn't find a place to store the tiny confessional alongside his boat shoes and lack of socks.

    Personality:

    +/- Quick to shoot
⧰ You know what solves problems quickly and efficiently? shooting them in the head. talking is for people who don't have stuff to do and don't carry a massive gun-laser-cross.

    + Likes children
⧰ Sometimes you are an orphan and you have a soft spot for other orphans and kids in general. suck a lemon about it.

    + Dedicated
⧰ Get the job done, even when it's stupid and suicidal beyond belief, even when it absolutely sucks to do.

    - Cynical
⧰ The world is a sandy hellpit and people are worth whatever somebody would pay to put a bullet through them or bury them. don't get attached, don't care.

    - Opportunistic
⧰ It's just good sense to seize whatever you can when you can. $$20,000.00 is a perfectly reasonable amount to charge for burying two bodies and mostly praying good over them.

    +/- Mouthy
⧰ SOMETIMES you're younger than the genetic experimentation on your body makes you look so you're a mouthy little asshole who gives people annoying nicknames and runs your yapper come whatever consequences may.

    + Survivalist
⧰ But despite the cynicism and the crunchy, gruff exterior, it's all about making it to tomorrow with the people you care about intact. some people would mistake this for kindness but they're dumb.

    + Affable
⧰ Like, he's kind of an obnoxious asshole, but he's a funny obnoxious asshole also who'll probably at least verbally try to stop you from walking into a busy street. might scruff you if he doesn't have something else going on.

    - Loner
⧰ most of his adult relationships are very superficial and he's going to keep them that way, thank you. the punisher doesn't do friends or first person pronouns.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Arriving when his labyrinth pops, please! As for suggestions, Wolfwood comes from a sandy hell planet full of bugs, has an orphanage that he's deeply concerned with protecting, got experimented on in a nightmare feverdream laboratory, and is beholden to a weird Plant worshipping pseudo-Christian death cult. You have your pick (:

    Items: items:
Pack of shitty bent up cigarettes (stolen) with a fancy lighter he can do a flippy trick with
A number of phials filled with chemicals that trigger his regenerative properties, feel free to give me a set number bc the show sure doesn't show where he keeps them. in his boobpockets maybe?
    A bigass gun-laser-cross, Cross Punisher.

    Retained Abilities: Superhuman strength enhancement.

    Character Name: Kara Belmont
    Canon: OC
Canon History: 19 y.o. girl survives the zombie apocalypse. Watched a lot of people she knew turn into the undead and had to slaughter most of them. Trauma ensues. Prior to the apocalypse, Kara Belmont was a girl who aspired to be a fashion model but ultimately never made the cut. Determined to make something of herself anyway, she decided to pursue her favorite childhood sport – baseball – and worked her way to becoming one of the best players on her team in her final year of high school. She intended on continuing in university, but then the apocalypse happened. Good thing she can use that baseball bat to her advantage.

Some things of note: She was discovered by a scientist after collapsing on the ground from a long fight, and they saw that Kara still had a willingness to fight and stay alive despite her inexperience in combat. They decided to use that to their advantage, and offered her a contract. She was tasked to go around and collect samples of different types of undead, and in exchange, she would receive supply crates that would aid her and her comrades in their survival. She accepted. Her adventures, however, made her turn more jaded and distrusting as a result.

Canon Personality: Kara was once somewhat of a social butterfly. What she lacked in tact she made up for with her bubbly personality, and she was unashamed of who she was. That energy attracted people towards her, and she had a solid, stable circle of friends that she loved and appreciated. She excelled in extracurricular activities, like baseball, and put her heart and soul into becoming someone she could be proud of. Pretty mundane stuff.

Not long after she started university, however, disaster struck. Kara saw most of her friends turn, save for two others in her circle, and the three of them had to kill the others for their own safety. That moment sticks with her, and it's one she'll carry with her for the rest of her life. Even so, she still retains the passion she had with her in high school, and is channeling that energy into keeping herself alive. That being said, she is more self-centered and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure her survival, as well as that of her friends and anyone else who she deems trustworthy. The latter is hard to come across, though, so she has a lot of barriers up and approaches new people with a lot of caution, and occasionally with hostility.

    AU Name: n/a
    AU Birthday: June 10th

AU History: Most of her life is pretty much the same as it was before the undead situation in her canon. The key differences are: 1) She doesn't attend university, as she's working full-time at a department store to help her and her roommate (Shio) pay for rent. 2) She's not into baseball, here. Still not a model, but she's hoping to go into cosmetology or fashion design someday. 3) Her friends and family are alive and well. That's a nice bonus. 4) She does streaming as a side thing and plays RPGs/MMOs usually; she streams under the name "Kbear". She's not a huge streamer by any means, but she is happy with her modest little community.

AU Personality Differences: Kara is a lot happier here, more trusting and outgoing. Still rough around the edges and fairly blunt, because that's just who she is, but nothing has happened (so far) that would make her feel the need to shut people out.

    Character Name: Urianger Augurelt
    Canon: FFXIV
    Canon History: Wiki link here!
Canon Personality: Aloof and cryptic - Known for his overly-formal, poetic speech, and for using ten words where one will do, Urianger can accidentally come off as standoffish or distant if you aren't used to his unusual mannerisms.

Caring - Urianger has stayed by his friends through thick and thin, even when he could have returned to his homeland and a safer, easier life. Most of the mistakes he's made have been in the name of helping others or sparing them pain.

Calculating - Raised in a land with a need-to-know ethos around any potentially dangerous knowledge, he tends to fall back on their methods when he comes upon a dilemma, working through the moral calculus on his own to spare the most people the most suffering...even if that means keeping secrets from his friends and taking every burden of painful choice onto his own shoulders.

Empathetic - A more recent development, as Urianger has stepped out of libraries and into the role of healer, he's become wiser in the ways of emotion and better able both to cope with his own and to help others through their various traumas. He's particularly good with children, and enjoys looking after them.

Patient - To a fault, even: terribly aware of the potential consequences of hasty action, Urianger will wait and assess a situation until he can determine that acting upon it would be both useful and necessary. He has occasionally waited too long, and part of his growth has been learning when to act decisively, but ultimately his first impulse will still always be to act precisely rather than quickly.

Awkward - For all that Urianger is the shoulder you want there to lean on when you're in crisis, he's not very good with starting conversations or interacting with people in a day to day sense, content as often as not with the company of books. He's confident and competent in his areas of expertise, but it's easy to fluster him if a conversation starts to go off-script.

    AU Name: N/A
AU Birthday: We're given no canon info, so I'm going to pick March 7 and make him a Pisces

AU History: Urianger's birth family lives elsewhere. They were well-to-do but neglectful and barely present for his childhood: although his physical needs were met, he received very little attention or guidance from his parents, and more or less raised himself reading books, with some occasional assistance and guidance from the teachers and neighbors who noticed that this kid did everything on his own. He had enough spiritual power to see ghosts and magic, which contributed to a quirky personality as he grew that kept him from making many friends his own age; he was never able to determine if either of his parents shared this gift, as they wouldn't speak of it.

Unsurprisingly, he moved out to college on a scholarship as soon as he was able. Talented in math and science, he ended up with a degree in mathematics that could have led to a promising career, but every path ahead of him seemed too closed-in for the things he couldn't avoid knowing about the world. Instead he cut ties entirely with everything he'd ever known, moved to Kaisou, and started up a magic shop.

He's been here a little over five years now, and he's established himself as a small business owner. The goods in the front of the shop keep the lights on: tarot cards and readings, metaphysics books, crystals. And then there's a little room in the back where only proven magic users are allowed, with a much smaller collection of genuine magical components and learning materials. Kaisou has proved a good place to learn more about magic and the occult, with the Spirit Vein in the night sky, and he's been putting his research skills to good use.

AU Personality Differences: He'll be a little bit less reticent and more independent, what with standing on his own and not having an organization to fall back on, but otherwise I expect him to stay pretty close to canon.

    Element: Shadow
Purchased Powers: General - 2 points - Medium level healing
General - 2 points - Detect if something/someone is magic and general information on element-type and strength
Shadow - 2 points - Low level shadow manipulation

    Character Name: Xiao.
    Canon: Genshin Impact.
    Canon History: Here!

    Canon Personality:
Reserved ─ Xiao's overall demeanor is a reserved one, he does not put on grand displays or speak too much, and he is to the point and his movements incredibly measured. He does not act without cause and won't ever be caught doing something like a backflip for no other reason than he can.
Distant ─ He comes off as incredibly distant to others, having no desire to engage with the humans he works tirelessly to protect nor any of their customs. Nor is he interested in engaging with socialite norms, finding them strange, childish, and even pointless.
Intimidating ─ This almost makes him come off as a bit intimidating as well, he has an intensity that rarely seems to diminish even with those he has grown comfortable around. By the way that he dresses, the way he speaks, and how he chooses to appear, Xiao lives up to his name; the Conquerer of Demons.
Loyal ─ Xiao is immensely loyal to those he has grown close to, the best example being Zhongli who was the one to free Xiao from the clutches of the god who had used him for countless years. It was Zhongli who gave Xiao his new name, who Xiao dedicated his to protecting Liyue for. He will stand for anyone speaking ill of the Geo Archon in front of him and would do anything Zhongli asked of him. The same can be said for the Travel, who Xiao promised would always appear if they call his name should they ever need him. As of current canon, Xiao has appeared each time the Travel called for him, minus the only time he could not physically move through domain space.
Resilient ─ Xiao has lived for a very long time, defending Liyue and fighting creatures poisoned by the lingering anger of dead gods. This is stacked up a large amount of karmic debt that his fellow Yaksha's either succumbed or died too. Yet despite that, Xiao has remained impressively resistant to alluring corruption. One might even say... he is a little stubborn.
Loner ─ It is because of that karmic debt that Xiao prefers to be alone, very rarely getting involved in human affairs. In his eyes, it is safer this way, for both himself and the people who try to interact with him. When he is forced into interaction he will ask they get to the point as quickly as possible for their own sake. Human souls are not as robust as that of an adepti, thus he fears prolonged time in his presence may very well hurt them.
Socially awkward ─ Both due to his disinterest in engaging socially with humans and his self-imposed isolation, Xiao is... very awkward. While able to engage in conversation he can't really do small talk even with those that he has grown closer to. The Traveler even warned him off randomly disappearing on them during a dinner that Hu Tao organized last lantern rite, fearing that the number of people might overwhelm him. Xiao doesn't do crowds very well.
Strict ─ He has also proven himself to be quite the strict teacher in his dealings with Ganyu, though he can be quite strict he is also quite effective in how blunt he is with her.
Self Doubting ─ That being sad Xiao doesn't believe someone like him is best suited to mentor her, as he is little more than a yaksha whose hands are coated in blood and whose soul is tainted by debt. He does not believe he is capable of fitting in with others due to his bloody past, even if there was not the threat of his karmic debt always pressing his mind, he has done too much in his life for anyone to wish to stand beside him.
Curious & Gentle ─ Despite his outward callous and rather intimidating nature, Xiao is a gentle soul who is curious about humanity despite how much they perplex and sometimes annoy him. However, he refuses to let others see that side of him due to past experiences the ever-present threat of his karmic debt.

    AU Name: n/a
    AU Birthday: April 17th.

    AU History:
Xiao was born in China during a rather tense period of history, to a family that was, unfortunately, unable to care for him. They tried, truly, seeing him through infancy until the strain became too much and they were forced to abandon him at a very young age. This forced Xiao to have to quickly learn how to fend for himself in any way necessary. He stole food, fought for shelter, and defended himself from people and whatever predators thought of him as easy pickings. however when you're having to fight and steal in order to survive you ultimately make yourself some enemies, or at the very least a lot of people start to get angry at your existence. This is exactly what caused Xiao to awaken to his supernatural powers; after stealing from the wrong people he was cornered and taken to a nearby cliff with the intent of throwing him off it. Panicked and terrified something snapped inside of him and a gust of violent wind tore through his attackers, leaving one dead and the other two injured.

This incident was witnessed by an agent of the Imperial Dynasty at the time who, upon watching this young boy display such power, decided to take Xiao under his wing. He was taken from his home then, cleaned up, and spent the next few years being trained in the art of combat and clandestine activities. Xiao became the blade in the dark, a shadow, the whispered demon shackled to the divine, used to bloody its own hands instead of theirs. Xiao does not know how many years he spent in the service of the man who collected him off the street, nor how many years passed since he began his service. Xiao didn't care, he felt indebted to the man and thus allowed himself to be used.

However things do not last forever, dynasties fall and lords are often killed, and with his master's death, Xiao was left abandoned once again. A drift in a world he knew very little about outside of its shadows. He had been a weapon, a tool, first before a person, and he learned very little of simply living. Xiao fell to the streets once more aimless and uncertain until he was happened upon by a man who recognized him for who, and what, he was. Xiao's whole world shifted upon meeting this man, Zhongli, who gifted him a name and, unintentionally, a new purpose in life; he would remain at his side and protect him from whatever dangers dared approach him.

Through this relationship, Xiao began to learn how to live simply as himself, not as a tool or a weapon, but as Xiao. He was encouraged to be curious about the world around him, about people, about all the things deemed unnecessary for him to know about during this time with his now-dead master. For many long, long years his life revolved around this, around Zhongli and their travels, around learning and discovering new things as the world around them shifted and changed. But even that was not destined to remain forever. Xiao bore witness to the change in Zhongli's friend, the fractures that formed, and the madness that threatened to consume him.

It was around this time that Xiao noticed Azhdaha's disappearance and his adoptive father's subsequent distancing, something was wrong, and while Zhongli's explanation satisfied his curiosity something did not sit right. He struggled to understand both Azhdaha's sealing and the reason behind his adoptive father growing more and more distant. Xiao continued as he was, trying his best to stay at Zhongli's side all the while learning everything he could about the world around him as they moved through it. Eventually, Xiao and Zhongli would be forced to part ways, something that Xiao did not like but agreed to under the urging of his adoptive father ─ not that Xiao stuck with it for very long, as Xiao would follow Zhongli to Kaisou to watch over him from the shadows and discover what new things await him in the city.

    Nothing could go wrong, right?

    AU Personality Differences:
While still socially awkward growing up without a shit load of karmic debt trying to mentally rip him apart at any given moment, as well as bearing witness to the downfall of his fellow Yakshas, Xiao is actually a lot more open to new experiences as well as interested in engaging with other people. Never mind that he doesn't exactly understand how to interact with people these days, he is old and has spent at least a good chunk of years of his life with Zhongli of all people.

It is important to note he is outwardly friendly, unlike his counterpart, though can easily come off as very blunt and abrasive. He genuinely wants that connection he did not get in his younger years.

Canon Point: Just after confronting the Grey Wardens, when Cole begins to worry about what he is.
    Birthday: March 14th

(his canon tarot card is the Moon and that aligns with Pisces!)

    History: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Cole

    Personality:
The first thing to understand about Cole to understand why he is the way he is is simply that he is not the original Cole. He is a spirit who so fervently wished he could help a dying, abused, terrified young man that he became him, forgetting for a while that he was ever a spirit in the process. At his core, while he is trying to be human, he's not gotten there yet, and thus comes across as stilted and strange socially. He speaks in a rambling, lyrical manner that he can't control, and he doesn't really comprehend why when people think that's strange. He simply is, and he is comfortable with that.

He is, of course, a Spirit of Compassion. His first priority, above all else in his life, is that he wants to help other people. He doesn't want credit and doesn't care if people know it was him - in fact, canonically, he frequently erases himself from the memory of the people he helps, so that they can heal without feeling like someone else impeded on their emotions. He is kind to a fault, even to those who are unkind to them...at least, as long as the person has good or even fair intentions.

If someone is cruel or means to harm others, on the other hand, Cole does have a bit of a fearsome streak in him. Mercy can take many forms, after all, and sometimes the thing that is hurting someone is another person. He has killed many people at this point, and killing those who mean harm really doesn't bother him at all. Once in a while, if someone really, really earns it, he will even put a bit of fear into them with some carefully chosen words just before he ends their life.

He is largely unconcerned with himself overall - he doesn't care how he looks, if people don't like him, or even that he should probably rest every now and again. He's not been quite human enough before that he has had to eat or sleep, and so frequently he neglects himself in favor of helping others. Despite the way he looks, he insists it's what makes him happy.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Upon acceptance is good!

For the labyrinth, go nuts! Put this boy in the wiggler. Be mean.

Items: His clothes/hat, an ornate dagger (nonmagic), and pockets full of knick-knacks - coins, feathers, a small animal bone, some hard cheese wrapped in cloth, a small key, some buttons.

    Retained Abilities:
1 Point - Empathy - Cole can (uncontrollably) see scattered images from a person's past, as related to something bothering them/that they need. (These will be contingent on player permissions - if someone doesn't want to allow their character read, he will only get "static.")

2 Points - Invisibility - Cole can go invisible for five minutes at a time.

    Character Name: Alhaitham
    Canon: Genshin MoneyMaker Impact

    Canon History: Boop

Canon Personality: Ok, look. He’s a fucking asshat. This is the basic point you should get from all of this. He doesn’t do people. Figuratively or Literally. Anyway. He’s a scholar. His biggest pursuit is the pursuit of knowledge. He doesn’t like distractions, he wears his headphones to block out noise… and people talking to him, I’m sure. He’s not ambitious, he doesn’t want a position of authority… They give him one in game and he doesn’t really want it for long. He focuses on himself, and follows the notion that it’s impossible to save everyone and you should focus on yourself first. Everyone has equal weight to him, be human or god. And he doesn’t tend to correct assumptions about himself unless it’s going to be problematic to let people keep thinking that way.

Basically… he’s that logical guy you met in college that rubbed you the wrong way, but that never actually pissed you totally off. Unless he was your roommate.

AU Name: Abasi al-Haytham (aka Professor Dracaena aka Professor Cactus)
    AU Birthday: February 11
Faction: Gotta catch em all, POKEGO

AU History: Abasi was raised by his grandmother after his parents died in a ‘mysterious incident’. His grandmother was a scholarly woman, but also had her run ins with the spirit realm, and didn’t keep that a secret from her grandson. He continued to attend school, but also spent a lot of time studying with his grandmother what they don’t teach you in schools. This caused problems with his social growth, because man, it’s not fun to talk to normies when you know the truth about the world. He went to college, and was soon recruited by POKEGO to join them when he was finished with his degrees. He technically has enough credits and time ‘served’ to have a PhD at this point, but he won’t finish it off. Too much effort, too much responsibility. So, he joins POKEGO since it seems they will let him study what he wants on his time and leave him alone. I figure he’s sent to Kaisou to try and keep track of the Willow fallout, but that’s easily changed. He ended up there. And now swaps between doing his research for POKEGO and teaching a class here and there at the university (probably to keep research privileges.)

He’s had flashes of his previous life in Teyvat, but nothing too revealing… Mostly flashes of faces, and he knows of ‘canned knowledge’ a bit of an idea of what Sumeru looks like due to blips and flashbacks.

AU Personality Differences: Not really. Besides more frustration towards traffic because cars don’t exist in Teyvat (so far)

    Character Name: Sara Aripi-Lumina
    Canon: OC
Canon History: I have a write-up here, going up to what would have been the intended canon point if she were being apped as OU. It also includes sections for personality and canon abilities. Additional links in the sticky post on her journal contain setting info if it's somehow needed for any reason. (The 'Character Info' link on that post is the same one provided here.)

If you want something shorter, here's bullet points:
    • Sara was born in a small village not far from a larger city, and has one older sister.
    • When she was four, several people from the village went missing, her parents and sister included.
    • She was taken in by her uncle for awhile, but her being a ball of anger and abandonment issues as a direct result of the incident led to him concluding that he was not able to handle her.
    • Instead of trying to take her to any other known family members, which probably would have been the smart thing to do, her uncle took her to a friend of his that lived in the city. This kind of exacerbated things because of course it did, so she pretty much hates her uncle now, and she also took it out on her new caretaker for awhile.
    • Sara finally made her first friend when she was nine. Or it was really more the other way around; Sara met a boy that wasn't much older than her, and despite her best efforts to keep some distance, he insisted on being friends. It took her a little bit to accept this, but after she did, she started to feel just a little better about things in general.
    • Two years after that, the woman she's been living with decided that it was time to try introducing Sara to her own family, so they left on a trip intending to do that. The duo was ambushed somewhere along the way, and the woman was taken away, leaving Sara out in basically the middle of nowhere.
    • By some stroke of luck, Sara was found by her friend and the people that he was accompanying on the beginnings of a quest to protect their home from a threat that had been discovered. By sheer coincidence, the group had intended to recruit the woman that Sara had been living with, so both for Sara's own safety and because of having a shared goal of finding the woman, Sara was told to stick with the group and they would find her. This group would be joined over time by more individuals who wished to aid the group's cause, including Sara's own older sister Lorena, who was alive and mostly well. Lorena did not know where their parents were, or if their parents were even still alive; she'd been separated from them herself when they all vanished from the village.
    • Things eventually turned out to be way more complicated and dangerous than anyone expected, and "things" just so happened to include Sara herself as it turned out she was one of the latest in a family line that had been known for wielding some seriously powerful magic, and this was initially a problem because Sara was still young and she certainly had a bit of a temper. Fortunately, one of the members of the still steadily-growing group had enough knowledge of powers similar to hers to begin trying to give her some training to reduce the threat that she posed to the rest of her companions.
    • Later parts of the overall plot within the OU still have yet to be determined and it's been very slow-going for a variety of reasons, so it's shortly after this point that would have served as the "canon point" if Sara was being apped as an OU. It's likely that no memories from after the point in question will be regained, so once Sara is aware of the whole memories thing, the fate of her past life is going to be a giant question mark and it's probably going to bug her a lot.

    Canon Personality:
    • Sara has a tendency to be loud, disagreeable, overly sensitive toward how people treat her, and is fairly easy to anger. As angry as she might get when she does get angry, however, she lacks the energy or drive to actually act on it. If she does act on it, well...she's just an eleven-year-old girl, and not particularly strong for one, so she is mostly harmless, except maybe to your eardrums; her usual response when angered is to start yelling. Around people she actually likes, she will actively try to tone it down, but can never really tone it down all the way.
    • Under serious stress, particularly when real danger is involved, she easily buckles, falling into a helpless, confused, and very loud panic.
    • Whenever she isn't angry, Sara most often simply keeps to herself, usually refusing to get close to others unless they appear to be somewhere near her own age; she does not trust most adults save for her caretaker, and even her she gives a considerable amount of trouble. Groups of people tend to overwhelm her unless those groups include people she knows and trusts, and she will refuse to take any form of control in any situation, instead letting other people handle it—and usually harassing them a bit while they do. Most people she interacts with, be it in groups or one-on-one meetings, are typically regarded with a fair amount of skepticism and distrust. Especially with people she has never met before, Sara is a very private, very guarded individual even at her young age and is not particularly willing to tell anyone anything about herself unless deemed absolutely necessary; to her, everyone she meets is a threat until proven otherwise. With this overly negative view of people in general, she is far from willing to help anyone she does not trust, and is not above confrontation or attempts at intimidation in order to keep people at the distance she wants them.
    • With the exceptions of anger or panic, Sara has some difficulty with expressing her emotions, and there are times where it appears that she is unaware of how she really feels about something. She is largely uninterested in most things and prefers to stick with routines that she already knows, shrugging new ideas off as unnecessary so long as the things she knows still work. In that sense, she's actually a little boring. Changes away from things she is already familiar with leaves her feeling uncertain and worried, which are feelings that she responds to by...well, snapping at whoever thought of trying something new.

    AU Name: Sara Leighton
AU Birthday: April 14th, same as canon. Her being 11 years old puts her birth year at 2012.

    AU History:
    • Like in canon, Sara was born as the younger of two girls, with her sister being five years older than her.
Also like in canon, her parents and sister all went missing when she was four, but circumstances behind their disappearance are even less-clear here than they were in canon.
    • Since she has no nearby family that she could live with (unlike canon, though the arrangement with her uncle there didn't last very long anyway), over the seven years that have passed since, Sara has bounced between foster homes as none of the homes she's been in have worked out for various reasons, mostly things involving things getting too stressful for Sara, or her foster families, or both. She's found that she's rather averse to change, or maybe this is what gave her that aversion, but either way, the resulting lack of stability has not done her any particular favors.
    • She has been at her current home in Kaisou for roughly half a year, and she has been living with the same couple that had adopted Shio Takahata, making him basically her older brother. Due to Shio's circumstances having granted them at least a partial understanding of Sara's own circumstances, Sara's newest family has been surprisingly good to her, providing what she needs while so far managing to avoid any big emotional landmines, which has allowed her to feel a bit more at-ease here than she had anywhere else. However, she currently still expects to be sent off to another home at some point because that's what always happens.
    • As far as school goes, she is currently in 6th grade; she should be in 5th considering her age (11) and birthday (April 14), but one of the first families she'd ended up with had somehow managed to get her started a little early. Up until recently her grades were only passable, with her keeping up with things just well enough to stay afloat because she didn't really care all that much. With finally feeling that things might be looking up for her, just a little bit, she's started making more of an effort.

    AU Personality Differences:
    • Since her AU reflects her early canon in some ways (and those ways being what had largely informed her personality to begin with), personality-wise canon and AU Sara are actually pretty similar. If anything, AU Sara has actually had it a bit harder than her canon self due to hopping between multiple households instead of just two, so initially she'll tend toward "canon personality, except probably slightly more", except when it comes to her current foster family, who she's decided she actually likes.

    Character Name: Yuuki Shinomiya
    Canon: Tokyo Xanadu eX+
    Canon History: Here

    Canon Personality:
  • Cocky:Yuuki is a genius, especially when it comes to coding and hacking, and boy does he know it. This is tempered by the events of the game, but he’s still kind of a cocky little shit when it comes to his fields.

  • Rude: He’s a rude little shit and he genuinely does not give a fuck about manners most of the time. Everyone is always telling him to stop being rude or just ignoring the rudeness. That being said, he does also use it to mask his more sentimental or sensitive moments

  • Shut-In: Unless you are on the shortlist of people he likes and considers friends, he would really rather not deal with you.

  • Good: He’s rude most of the time, but he’s a good kid deep down and he does care for his select group of people. He’s just not going to be polite about it and will couch it in complaints and insults.

  • Naive: Again, this is something that he grows out of a little as the game goes on, but Yuuki is still a sixteen year old boy on the internet and that unfortunately means he thinks he knows more and can handle more than he actually does or can. He thinks it’s a good idea to have the yakuza owe him a favor.

    AU Name: Yuuki Shinomiya
    AU Birthday: November 21st
    Faction: POKEGO

AU History: Yuuki Shinomiya was born to his parents in a suburb of Tokyo as an only child. His mother passed away when he was about five years old due to health complications, leaving him to be “raised” by his father and extended family. Unfortunately for Yuuki, his father really didn’t know how to handle his extremely intelligent young son and just shoved him off on other family members; this led to Yuuki not really giving a damn about his old man and moving out to attend high school on his own as soon as he could.

It was also around this time that Yuuki began to deal with the paranormal. It started when he was trawling Reddit one night instead of doing his homework and came across one of those weird cryptid subreddits where people posted pictures and shared stories about the shit they’d supposed seen. One person was regularly posting weird spooky photos of a ghostly whatever, and everyone else was saying they didn’t see anything. But Yuuki did, and when he reached out to poster they admitted they just wanted to make sure they weren’t crazy because they’d been seeing this thing around their house for ages. The poster also said a local group had offered to help with the thing and gave Yuuki the address for POKEGO’s Tokyo branch in case he was curious.

That night, Yuuki had the weirdest dream/memory of him and a group of other kids going into tears in the fabric of reality and fighting monsters. He woke up with a hammer-staff thing and a little drone that disappeared into a program on his phone the moment he touched it.

Needless to say, Yuuki joined up with POKEGO through their POKEPUPS program within the week.

The outings into the Spirit Realm or just outside in general were Yuuki’s only real interaction with people outside of those he had to speak to in order to accept deliveries and his teachers when submitting his schoolwork online. He’d never been particularly social, a trait that wasn’t helped by his distant father and “there but also not there” extended family, and although he was enrolled in a very nice school in Tokyo, he never attended more than the bare minimum of classes in person and did most of his schooling online. He didn’t even attend his graduation, seeing no real reason to do so when he didn’t know any of the kids he was graduating with. His POKEPUPS group did celebrate, though, and it was then that he was given his very own Pokemon from one of the gates they’d gone to. Maru the Fidough has been Yuuki’s constant companion since, and she is joined by Chibi the Tinkatink.

Yuuki, like most of POKEGO his age, made plans to attend college on a POKEGO scholarship (not that he needed it thanks to several popular apps he’d made making bank but like. It was there). Unfortunately for Yuuki, he graduated right as the whole Willow Situation was going down and he lost all but one of his scholarships due to funding drying up. He returned the scholarship so someone else could use it and started going through the process of applying to Kaisou’s university and getting his papers in order. He is now here, ready to start in the fall and ready start digging into what the fuck Willow was thinking and trying to fix POKEGO’s reputation.

He’d deny that last one if asked, though.

Also he tried to hack into Zodiac. He won’t deny that one if asked.

AU Personality Differences: Less naive and even more anti-social, thanks to his age and lack of positive friend influences like in canon. POKEPUPS was so large that it was easy for other kids to avoid him if they wanted to, and he wasn’t particularly special except when it came to coding.

    Element: Light!
