What are Side Quests and how do they work?
Side Quests are optional missions/jobs that are posted on the Libra Network each month for characters to do. New quests will appear every month around the same time as the OOC plotting post (so about the 28th), but ICly will appear on the app on the 1st of the month.

Players will sign up their characters to do particular quests, either by themselves or with a group. During the sign up, players will give information on how well a character would do on a particular quest (for example: if an illiterate character was asked to read some books to children, you should mention that they can't read). With this information factored in, the mod helper will respond with roughly how smoothly the quest will turn out based on a combination of your characters skills and RNG.

From there, players are free to play out or handwave the side quests as they wish! While we ask that players sign up for quests that are happening in the current month, players can backdate quest threads as much to your liking.

There is no limit to how many characters can be part of a single quest group. You can do quests by yourself, or have a raid party of 30 characters.

You can sign up for as many group quests (2 or more characters) as you like. While you can sign up for a solo quest, they are currently restricted to one per month per character.

Are there Rewards?
Each quest will have IC rewards for characters that vary depending on the quest and how well the characters do.

On the OOC end, turning in quest threads that have at least 3 comments from your character will earn you 1 free gacha point. The quest doesn't need to be completed, it just needs to have at least three comments from your character in order to be eligible. While you can sign up for as many group quests as you like in a month, you can only redeem up to 3 gacha points per month. Threads for quests from previous months can be redeemed as well, but it'd count towards the quest turn-ins for the current month. In group quests, when redeeming gacha points, please be sure that each player who wishes to redeem the thread for a gacha roll comments individually so we can keep track of individual free gacha totals.

doubledollar: [all UNCREDITED manga caps done by ME] (78)

[personal profile] doubledollar 2023-05-04 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Player(s): TF + Prince
Character(s) Involved: Varian + Vash the Stampede
Quest Name: Red Hot Chili peppers
Relevant Skills: Varian is an alchemist with high levels of knowledge about chemicals and ingredients, so finding a very hot pepper is probably not a hard task for him. Varian also has a pet raccoon and the ability to turn into a werewolf with enhanced speed/strength.
Vash has an applin with no actual combat ability. while he absolutely will not fight using his gun on wild animals like pokemon, he does also have enhanced speed and strength--as well as his special shielding ability with his angel's feathers that he can use to defend both himself and Varian.
Anything else?: vash is very food motivated as a person. varian could grab some interesting ingredients for alchemy purposes.
doubledollar: (163)

[personal profile] doubledollar 2023-05-04 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Jackals + Prince
Character(s) Involved: Wolfwood D. NiconicoNii + Vash the Stumpede
Quest Name: Got a Deal For You!
Relevant Skills: Both Vash and Nicholas are very good at combat, both with enhanced strength/combat ability and their respective capability with guns. While their combat abilities are great, neither Vash or Wolfwood are very good at puzzles. While Vash is very good at thinking on his feet to get out of sticky situations, Wolfwood's only real solution to everything is 'apply gun'.
Anything else?: Vash just really can't say no to someone in need. Wolfwood agreed to tag along with the promise for money for cigarettes.
doubledollar: [all UNCREDITED manga caps done by ME] (84)

[personal profile] doubledollar 2023-05-04 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Shannon + Prince
Character(s) Involved: Libra + Vash the Stampede
Quest Name: Cotton the Act
Relevant Skills: Vash recently got a pair of knitting needles and gave them to Libra, who is VERY good at knitting, sewing, patching clothing.
Vash on the other hand has one arm and some good dexterity and will have Fun trying to do this one, oops.
Anything else?: If it's for baby animals, they're both here to help with all the power they have.
bolledivita: (I said "Hey girlfriend")

[personal profile] bolledivita 2023-05-04 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Fae and Amber
Character(s) Involved: August Villareal + Caesar Zeppeli
Quest Name: Cotton the Act
Relevant Skills: Sewing is something that's both well within August and Caesar's skill sets--August has a whole business that revolves around it, after all, and Caesar's learned from both August and Mercedes, so he's certainly passable in that regard. August is also good with animals (even if that's mostly with birds), and Caesar's capable of following directions and would listen to August.
Anything else?: Caesar has the two-point luck boost!
cheep_soongbird_knockoff: (Cat)

[personal profile] cheep_soongbird_knockoff 2023-05-06 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Falcon + Prince
Character(s) Involved: Rren + Mr. The Stampede
Quest Name: Do Not Look at the Dog Park
Relevant Skills: They're gonna try stealth first. Rren is a cat for this quest, which may help with that aspect, but might make retrieving the ball slightly more difficult. I'm not sure how stealthily Mr. The Stampede will make it over the fence. But it's cool. They have backup plans if they get caught. Mr. the Stampede can fight. And Rren can run, jump, and climb.
Anything else?: Look. Do you really think Mr. The Stampede can ignore pre-teen puppy dog eyes? Because Rren sure didn't. And then they'd have to listen to him whine. Or watch him be an idiot and go over the fence alone. (Wait, why aren't they doing that? Do you have popcorn, mods?)
awalkinthedark: (Default)

[personal profile] awalkinthedark 2023-05-06 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Endless
Character(s) Involved: Artorias
Quest Name: If You Give A Nerd A Sandwich
Relevant Skills: Artorias's only relevant skills are a knowledge of where and what to get at restaurant supply stores around town, general hotdog assembly skills, and... that's about it, really.
Anything else?: Artorias is very diligent and happy to help, and also has a deeply held conviction that hotdogs are not a sandwich, but a type of taco. He will absolutely use spices typically associated with taco meat on some of the hotdogs to prove his point. He won't be rude about it of course, but he will absolutely die on this hill if he must.

whiteshroud: (jun50)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2023-05-13 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Yuff & Bon
Character(s) Involved: Jun and Takame
Quest Name: Got a Deal For You
Relevant Skills: Well Jun is an OP holy knight with skills too long to list and Takame is a WoL with tanking abilities. Both of them have some level of magical detection.
Anything else?: Combat probably would be an issue for them, but they would be curious enough to inspect the wares to see what the heck made them appealing to the undead because what gives.
kowase: <user name=brokiloen> (107)

[personal profile] kowase 2023-05-15 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Player(s): prince + jackals
Character(s) Involved: gilgamesh + vergil
Quest Name: if you give a nerd a sandwich
Relevant Skills: they're both rich assholes who both have a refined palate for food. while gilgamesh definitely is the type who eats primarily fancy food, meanwhile vergil cooks all his own meals for the most part.
Anything else?: gilgamesh has his S-rank luck. vergil has never eaten a hot dog in his life.
kowase: <user name=lastlinks> (63)

[personal profile] kowase 2023-05-15 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Player(s): prince + marzi
Character(s) Involved: jekyll + vergil
Quest Name: got a deal for you!
Relevant Skills: Hyde comes out of hiding under high-stress situations and has actual fighting skill, as well as high strength.
vergil has no fighting skill except some very basic movements with a spear (he does not carry a spear), but he does have hellishly fast regeneration and inhuman strength/speed.
Anything else?: vergil just wanted to do a simple delivery with his employee in tow, and have the chance to score a sweet new magic weapon. this was not either of their intentions to happen. good lord. good god.
poisontippedcure: (Default)

[personal profile] poisontippedcure 2023-05-15 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Jade and Jay
Character(s) Involved: Lapis and Rose
Quest Name: Got a Deal For You
Relevant Skills: Rose is used to fighting things (on account of being an MMORPG protagonist, most of her solutions to problems involve violence), and she has a demon friend of her very own that lets her violence good.
Lapis is able to talk to the dead and will likely use that to aggro the skeletons into one v one battles (to avoid her and Rose getting ambushed). She is also very good at violence and fighting.
Anything else?: This was supposed to just be a fetch quest.
lightofkshahrewar: (behind)

[personal profile] lightofkshahrewar 2023-05-16 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Player(s): Marzi + Shannon
Character(s) Involved: Kaveh and Abasi
Quest Name: Cotton the Act
Relevant Skills: Kaveh is very good with his hands, and while he likely doesn't know how to knit with needles, he's such a housewife he's probably at least used a needle/thread to sew buttons back on or repair a split seam before. Animals also love him. Abasi, meanwhile, has knowledge of Pokemon so he has a better chance of knowing what they would like and wouldn't like fabric-wise (don't put a mareep in its own wool, ok). Abasi also has his own Pokemon he could bring, to help distract or pacify the baby Pokemon.
Anything else?: Kaveh is absolutely here to help the baby Pokemon because it's the right thing to do, whether he gets anything from helping or not. (He could definitely USE the money, but odds are he might just tell them to keep it if he feels the wildlife rehabilitation center needs the funding more than he does). Abasi is here because he's POKEGO, also because Kaveh insisted on going and Abasi felt obligated to babysit him. (Abasi also just likes Pokemon, but you didn't hear that from me.) If things go badly, their tendency to bicker (in public) could be a contributing factor.
