What are Side Quests and how do they work?
Side Quests are optional missions/jobs that are posted on the Libra Network each month for characters to do. New quests will appear every month around the same time as the OOC plotting post (so about the 28th), but ICly will appear on the app on the 1st of the month.

Players will sign up their characters to do particular quests, either by themselves or with a group. During the sign up, players will give information on how well a character would do on a particular quest (for example: if an illiterate character was asked to read some books to children, you should mention that they can't read). With this information factored in, the mod helper will respond with roughly how smoothly the quest will turn out based on a combination of your characters skills and RNG.

From there, players are free to play out or handwave the side quests as they wish! While we ask that players sign up for quests that are happening in the current month, players can backdate quest threads as much to your liking.

There is no limit to how many characters can be part of a single quest group. You can do quests by yourself, or have a raid party of 30 characters.

You can sign up for as many group quests (2 or more characters) as you like. While you can sign up for a solo quest, they are currently restricted to one per month per character.

Are there Rewards?
Each quest will have IC rewards for characters that vary depending on the quest and how well the characters do.

On the OOC end, turning in quest threads that have at least 3 comments from your character will earn you 1 free gacha point. The quest doesn't need to be completed, it just needs to have at least three comments from your character in order to be eligible. While you can sign up for as many group quests as you like in a month, you can only redeem up to 3 gacha points per month. Threads for quests from previous months can be redeemed as well, but it'd count towards the quest turn-ins for the current month. In group quests, when redeeming gacha points, please be sure that each player who wishes to redeem the thread for a gacha roll comments individually so we can keep track of individual free gacha totals.

Quest Name: Fungus Among Us
Relevant Skills: Luffy is great at identifying mushrooms and knowing which ones are or aren't poisonous. He brings foraging experience and 2+ luck.
Anything else?: Luffy will probably also try each kind of mushroom before harvesting a bunch, so uhhh, he might bring back a half empty container because mushrooms are delicious. It will be up to the Swinub to keep him on track, which isn't likely, soooooo. He'll probably try to feed the Swinub too though.

Luffy and Katsuki manage to traverse the Kanto realm with some ease. With no apparent plan, it takes them a while to travel to the right place, and their camp is attacked regularly. Luckily, they're able to fight off the pokemon by battling together- and as such manage to survive the night. They eventually come across the anomaly more to Luffy's luck than anything else. They fight the strange shadowy creatures and while the battle is hard and extremely dangerous, they manage to get through it with minor injuries. With the shadow creatures vanquished, the tear repairs, letting the lads escape the realm.

For their success, they get $1000 between them. Unfortunately, the bag of supplies is destroyed in the battle, so there's nothing extra to bring back - but on advising the Black Order what they found, the member seems pretty perturbed and quickly excuses themselves to go speak to someone higher. It's probably fine.

Luffy's luck and skill in foraging help the Swinnub locate plenty of mushrooms. The pokemon is pretty pleased with itself, and it doesn't take long before it's really getting into the swing of finding all kinds of delicious mushrooms. It's just unfortunate that Luffy chooses to eat so many, because while he managed to fulfil the brief- eating most of the evidence of his toil means the researcher at P.O.K.E.G.O is less than thrilled with the result.

For his success, Luffy gets $50. He doesn't bring enough mushrooms back to make a stew with, and given he's been feeding the Swinub too, the rehabilitation centre is rather disappointed as the point was to get the little guy to forage and not expect to eat half of what they're looking for- Luffy ended up being a detriment to the little guy's training and the researcher advises they will have to undo what Luffy has taught it. While the Swinub will be delighted to see Luffy again in the future, P.O.K.E.G.O members will be considerably less so.

Quest Name: War & Pies
Relevant Skills: Luffy has 2+ luck. Danny has made boxed cakes before.
Anything else?: Luffy's cooking skills aren't all that great but considering this isn't meant to be eaten, not sure if that matters. Depending on his luck, though, he might accidentally blow up or set something on fire.

Danny and Luffy manage to make something vaguely fruitcake shaped- this is thanks to Danny and the skills he has in baking. The baker they make this for doesn't seem to be that bothered about the fact it's not the best-looking thing in the world and instead excitedly talks about how "aerodynamic" it looks. When it comes to the battle, Luffy's luck means that the fruitcake flies quite a distance- hitting a new record! The baker is extremely pleased with this and promises they will put the boy's pictures on their wall for customers to gaze upon. They might be known as "the fruitcake boys" for a while, but such is the price of fame.

For their success, Luffy and Danny receive $50 each and 20% off pastries and pies at the winning bakery for December and January. As you have not stated which side your characters were supporting, we flipped a coin - so the winner of this bout was Chef Monica!

Quest Name: Let It Sn-Oh No
Relevant Skills: Anthony can freeze time temporarily, has temporary fire immunity and is a smooth talker
Katsuki has fire and explosions
Anything else?: Anthony's plan is to try to convince the imp he's demonic Jack Frost and see if that helps him persuade the imp to knock it off. Failing that, Katsuki's plan is just... melt/blow up the snowmen. (Hence why Anthony's temporary fire immunity might be potentially useful if things go awry. Katsuki hasn't had the best track record with his fire on these quests...)

The imp is not convinced by Anthony's Jack Frost impersonation and has some choice swear words for the pair of them as he commands his snowman army to attack. Luckily, Anthony's time-freezing ability means that they have enough time for Katsuki to try to use his explosions. For once, this works out for him! The fire melts the snowmen into little wet puddles, while Anthony gets to be unharmed- bonus! The imp's Super Cool Hat (it's literally just a beanie the imp has covered in glitter) gets scorched in the process and that is the ne'er-do-well's breaking point. He surrenders, screaming that they owe him a new hat while Zodiac takes him into custody.

For their success, they each get $100 and a new pair of freshly-knitted mittens. Zodiac also gives them the scorched hat as a trophy. If one of them takes it home, it will trail glitter all over their home for weeks. How did it even get there? Who knows!

Quest Name: Let It Sn-Oh No
Relevant Skills: He's a great shot with a gun, which will help him as he goes on a crazed snowman murdering frenzy, all while yelling at the snowmen to die. He's also an imp, so he and this imp may bond over that.
Anything else?: When Moxxie realizes it's an imp doing all of this, since this will be the first imp he's met in this life other than himself, he'll be very eager to impress this imp. He may try to convince the imp it would be more fun to call various places with overly complicated orders and try to convince the person taking the order that they should watch CATS. Alternatively, one way he'd be quite likely to fail is if the imp persuaded him to join him in his current shenanigans. This might be easier than it should be since Moxxie will want the imp to like him.

Quest Name: Season's Greasons
Relevant Skills: Rather improbable luck (+2 to rolls), has been researching paranormal (including potions) resources for 3 years.
Anything else?: To-Do List: Dip a handkerchief in the stoup of the nearest Catholic church and wring it out into a container, buy dried wormwood from pretentious hipster homebrewers, order a snake skull online and pop those little chompers out, teach werewolf about e-commerce so he can Google this next time.

Relevant Skills: Anthony has offered to teach the gnomes (and Cale) the art of mucking things up until they get their way. Cale will try to help on the negotiating side and has his shadow powers in case spying in necessary.
Anything else?: Both toys sound cursed and Cale is lowkey unsure if he wants to succeed or not.

Quest Name: Present Danger
Relevant Skills: Both are pretty good with kids. Jane will definitely be a help in the romance department. Luffy has zero experience there.

Moxxie's murdering frenzy is pretty impressive, honestly. Snow explodes everywhere as he destroys snowmen left and right. Eventually, the imp pokes his head out from wherever he's hiding to comment that Moxxie's kinda going overkill, but he likes his pep. Moxxie does a pretty good job at convincing his fellow imp to try other pranks- something he takes to like a duck to water. From this point onwards, the elf calls himself and Moxxie the Prank Masterz!!! Whenever he has a good prank idea, Moxxie will be the first person he contacts. They probably get banned from places on the regular, such is the downfall of peer pressure, Mox.

For his victory, Moxxie gets $100 and a new pair of freshly-knitted mittens. He also has a new friend for life, which is truly the greatest gift of all!

Harleen's luck and understanding of the paranormal really help her out on this one. Her potion does the trick fantastically- and even gets her a money-off voucher from those pretentious hipster homebrewers for any future purchases - she gets asked to tell her friends, please, tell her friends, no one else is buying their hipster wormwood. The werewolf's dinner goes without a hitch! He manages to keep cool and collected and he'll excitedly tell Harleen he's been invited to his girlfriend's family cabin for the holidays!

For her victory, Harleen gets $500 and a varsity jacket that was obviously made for someone seven feet tall. The werewolf often sends her texts asking her for tips because even if he's learned the power of Gooogle, he's decided she is an honorary member of his pack and as a result gets kinda needy for her advice now and again.

Anthony does a pretty good job of teaching the gnomes a thing or two about making things harder for their employer. Malicious Compliance becomes their new buzzword and they soon start only doing exactly what is expected of them. This backs up production considerably. The CEO is apoplectic and unfortunately, during one of their "thought processing" moments (AKA a temper tantrum) they throw their pencil holder at the wall, hitting a snooping Cale at the same time, exposing the spying ruse. While chasing Cale out of their office, they take a tumble and end up having to pay a visit to Kaisou hospital. Like Scrooge learning an important lesson about kindness, the experience teaches the CEO that sometimes they guess their employees SHOULD get paid leave and medical benefits and the employees win their union battle. The toy manages to squeak through production just in time, though it does miss out on a few safety tests and there are instances of some of the toys self-combusting but that's probably fine, right?

For their VERY passing victory, they get $400 between them and a Tickle Me Professor that gets upset when tickled and spouts morbid history facts when squeezed. A few weeks after they receive it, it self-combusts. It still spouts history facts as it burns which is pretty traumatising for anyone having to watch it.

The kids have a lot of faith in Luffy and Jane, which ends up being horrifically misplaced. While they are both good at encouraging kids, they end up going for a cake! What a nice surprise! Unfortunately, Jane and Luffy let the kids take the lead on this and the resulting 'cake' is pretty awful looking. As any good teacher would, Mr A grimaces and thanks the kids for their hard work as Mr B bravely takes a slice. Unfortunately, the kids have added a few "surprises" to their cake - including a helpful layer of toothpaste and an entire (only partly cooked) chicken thigh in the centre. Mr B spends the rest of the day being violently ill in the staff toilets while Mr A tries to calm his bereft children that they "killed" Mr B.

Disappointing two dozen children is punishment enough, but just in case it isn't, you get gum on the bottom of BOTH shoes and you can't get it off without help-- be it magical, alchemical, or otherwise. Neither Luffy nor Jane can go near the kindergarten again without kids pointing out that they were the people who helped them "nearly kill Mr B!!" Parents don't confront them, but they do get some judgemental looks for the next few months.

Quest Name: Season's Greason's
Relevant Skills: Isa has extensive knowledge of plants and plant magic, so she could try to find the right plant to help the werewolf. While Anthony due to the demon invasion and his own slow transformation into a demon has already acquired the Holy Water... he needed some insurance and this city has a lot of thieves willing to steal from Churches! The snake's teeth might give them some trouble but Anthony has never been afraid of snakes. ~~He doesn't know his past self used to be one~~.
Anything else?: Nope!

Isabela's understanding of plants comes out great here- she's quickly able to understand what Grimsely needs from the vague description he gives (with a lot of concerned hand-waving and at one point trying to describe smells like colours) and is able to grow the plant he needs. The holy water comes in amazingly handy too, even if Grimsley is a little confused as to why he has it so easy to hand- like, is he one of those Black Order weirdos? They end up having a bit of an adventure to get the snake teeth- which involves going to Mrs Fluffluffer's pet store and buying a snake for an extortionate price. Luckily, the snake seems to take to Crowley really well- even happily offering up a fang for the cause. The potion is brewed and works wonders, and Grimsley is delighted to have made a great first impression!

For their success, Isabela and Anthony each get $500 and a varsity jacket that was obviously made for someone seven feet tall. Every time he has a social event near the full moon, they can bet their werewolf friend will contact them for help. But hey, at least each time he gives them a pretty great gift basket of sweets, snacks and booze. Plus friendship, that's a great reward, right? There's also a snake missing a fang that needs a home if either of them decides to take it.
