What are Side Quests and how do they work?
Side Quests are optional missions/jobs that are posted on the Libra Network each month for characters to do. New quests will appear every month around the same time as the OOC plotting post (so about the 28th), but ICly will appear on the app on the 1st of the month.

Players will sign up their characters to do particular quests, either by themselves or with a group. During the sign up, players will give information on how well a character would do on a particular quest (for example: if an illiterate character was asked to read some books to children, you should mention that they can't read). With this information factored in, the mod helper will respond with roughly how smoothly the quest will turn out based on a combination of your characters skills and RNG.

From there, players are free to play out or handwave the side quests as they wish! While we ask that players sign up for quests that are happening in the current month, players can backdate quest threads as much to your liking.

There is no limit to how many characters can be part of a single quest group. You can do quests by yourself, or have a raid party of 30 characters.

You can sign up for as many group quests (2 or more characters) as you like. While you can sign up for a solo quest, they are currently restricted to one per month per character.

Are there Rewards?
Each quest will have IC rewards for characters that vary depending on the quest and how well the characters do.

On the OOC end, turning in quest threads that have at least 3 comments from your character will earn you 1 free gacha point. The quest doesn't need to be completed, it just needs to have at least three comments from your character in order to be eligible. While you can sign up for as many group quests as you like in a month, you can only redeem up to 3 gacha points per month. Threads for quests from previous months can be redeemed as well, but it'd count towards the quest turn-ins for the current month. In group quests, when redeeming gacha points, please be sure that each player who wishes to redeem the thread for a gacha roll comments individually so we can keep track of individual free gacha totals.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Zelos and Amal have a very successful mission! After a lot of wandering around the IKEA space, they find the mimic and their combined strength means they're able to beat it into submission. Zelos choosing NOT to set fire to the establishment means that the building survives relatively unscathed. The only broken piece of "furniture" is something called an IÖunmunder which even the staff admit they're not quite sure what it does, so they allow it as a reasonable expense for removing the mimic.

They get their full reward of $1000 and a coupon for 20% off meatballs in the food court. Also the broken IÖunmunder as an extra "perk". Whatever it is. It has the instructions with it if they want to try to fix it up, but as always, they mean nothing.

Elliot and Pepa fumble their way through the grocery store in search of an interesting ingredient that might please the chef's palate, but they are eventually successful! There's some collateral damage in the store but the plants seem to enjoy any rain Pepa can bring them. After snagging the last weird-looking fruit away from some adventurous wine aunt who planned on using it in a cocktail, they bring it to the baker and he seems pleased with the challenge! In a few days, he starts selling pink bread, which is both sweet and delicious.

They get the full reward of $200 and a free loaf of handmade artisan bread like the kind you'd find in a farmer's market, which is probably more exciting than the money.

Relevant Skills: Marcus is a terminator and cyborg with unnatural healing and double the strength of a normal human. Marcus can tank attacks a normal human can't take.

First just to note as per your app, that while Marcus was able to retain his healing ability per his one retained ability - his strength is currently nerfed down to normal human strength without purchase of a regain.

Fortunately even with the nerf to his strength, Marcus will be successful in tracking down and destroying the mimic! Unfortunately, he'll also take out several other pieces of furniture along with it during the fight cause enough destruction that he will be banned from IKEA.

Even with the ban, he'll still receive the full rewards ($1000 and 20% off coupon on meatballs). Better wear disguises if he wants cash in on those discounted meatballs!

Quest Name: Girls Just Wanna Have Fin
Relevant Skills: Usagi is legitimately really good with kids. She'll be happy to do all the nail painting, hair styling, chalk hair dye, and honestly she'll probably stop by an art supply store and grab beads so everyone can come home with matching friendship bracelets. She was literally made for this side quest.
Anything else?: The only downside is that she's. Not a great singer. Someone else will have to lead the birthday song.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Usagi has a natural gift with kids, maybe because she kind of is one. Either way, she's the perfect playmate for a merman's daughters! They have a blast doing all sorts of fun activities, and it turns out the beads are a hit, both for hair decorations and for making mementos. Usagi will be finding tiny seed beads in her things for the next week or so.

For her efforts, Usagi will receive several marine-themed bead creations, a wooden flute, and $500.

Quest Name: Li'l Pet Shop of Horrors
Relevant Skills: In mythology, imps are often familiars. This will give him the opportunity to infiltrate her shop as one of the familiars for sale. He has opposable thumbs which will help him escape any cage he's put in.
Anything else?: Moxxie will be infiltrating the shop by joining the latest shipment of familiars and trying to pretend to be one of the familiars for sale so he can watch Mrs. Fluffluffer and sneak around the shop to get evidence of her misdeeds.

Quest Name: (Don't) Try This Crazy New Tiktok Trend
Relevant Skills: Quest says bring a match to destroy supplies? Katsuki has fire powers! And ice walls. Maybe melt the ice to put out those fires after so they don't spread...?
Yoosung has very improbable luck. He also can conjure balls of light with the ARCUS II, can control a bucket worth of seawater (would there be seawater nearby?) and can mimic voices. Not sure if any of that helps here but I'll mention it just in case.
Anything else?: Katsuki excels at destruction? Yoosung is the voice of reason going "we don't need an INFERNO. Just a spark."

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Moxxie manages to slip into Mrs Fluffluffer's store with ease. At one point, a member of the public does ask how much the weird possum creature is for sale, but for once in his life, luck is on Moxxie's side and they get distracted by what looks like a jackalope and he's passed by. Moxxie manages to get evidence of all of Mrs Fluffluffer's crimes and even manages to get out of the store undetected!

For his reward, Moxxie receives $1000 and a pet-sized collar embroidered with rhinestones or spikes, your choice- the SPETA representative does try to put the collar ON Moxxie when handing out the reward. Maybe the infiltration is a little too effective. Moxxie also receives a pet rock. You're pretty sure it didn't use to be a person, but not 100%. It's probably not cursed.

MISSION: SUCCESS

It wasn't the smoothest mission ever but they managed to get through it! Unfortunately, they are nowhere near the sea for this mission, so Yoosung's seawater abilities are tragically wasted.
They manage to infiltrate the warehouse- any security on site are easily fooled by Yoosung's voice mimicry- deciding it's just Dave coming back from his smoke break. His light balls also help lead the way through the warehouse. Katsuki's firepower really does burn through the supplies- it does unfortunately also catch a shipment of Share Bears which are in the next aisle. Those things go up like tinder- Katsuki's ice wall manages to stop any further damage to the warehouse, but those poor teddies are dust. But hey, at least all the love potion is gone!

As a reward, they receive £400 and a bottle of purple ketchup from 2001. Unfortunately, they both also are made to sit through a Zodiac PSA video called "Fire and Me: Ow it Burns!" where they are shown some very pedantic fire safety videos and quizzed on their fire safety know-how later. If they get a passing grade in the video they get a sticker with a smiley face on it, if they fail, they get a sticker with a sad face.

MISSION: PASSING

Pepa and Luffy manage to get to Stardew pretty easily- but the rest of the mission is pretty rough. They get lost trying to find the right farm with the correct ingredients they need. A "helpful" passerby points them in the right direction but unfortunately, he thought they said "muffle toil" and end up in a mechanics shop. It's pretty late at night by the time they locate in ingredients- which thanks to Pepa's luck they manage to harvest without incident they need and even later still by the time they actually manage to make the stuff. It's the wee hours of the next morning when they finish and bring the truffle oil to the mayor, who's quite upset, he wanted it for the previous night. For some reason. Still, he begrudgingly agrees they did manage to give him what he wanted, even if there are things floating in it. He does ask them to pretty please not do any favours for him again.

As a reward, they get £100, some fresh produce, and blissful ignorance. Though if anyone (Luffy) is dumb enough to keep pressing the mayor about what he wants to do with that truffle oil he will give them a knowing smile and a wink. They also receive an angry letter from the farmer they got the supplies from, stating they didn't receive the proper compensation for the goods they used as they didn't know it was for the mayor's "hobby" and demands £50 in damages to their psyche.

Quest Name: (Don't) Try This Crazy New Tiktok Trend
Relevant Skills: Fern is great at breaking things! Varian is even better at exploding things, and as a plan B he could also make an antidote or come up with some chemical solution to neutralize the effects of the potion.
Anything else?: Nope.

Quest Name: Girls Just Wanna Have Fin
Relevant Skills: Since Luca and Alberto are fish people, they might be more relatable to the girls and will certainly have an easier time than other potential babysitters keeping up with any that decide to swim off into the cove. In Luca's village they weave things from seaweed, so he would be able to braid hair as well and Alberto is especially good with kids. They also will both enjoy having the girls paint their nails. Also, they have a magical comb that changes hair color that they will bring.
Anything else?: They'll just be doing their best and having a great time! They're both super excited to meet sea folk in this universe who aren't sirens.

MISSION: FAILURE

Everything was lined up perfectly for these boys, but alas, it was not meant to be. The girls were downright offended that these gross teenage fish boys were anything like them- they're MERMAIDS!! Wow!!! They do allow for their hair to be braided and the magic comb is a very welcome distraction. To the point where one of them tries to steal it. They'll have a task getting it back and in doing so they end up with tears and tantrums. Even if they let the girls keep the damn thing, they'll fight over it. Everything goes downhill from there. The girls refuse to listen to them and spend the rest of the evening testing their patience and chanting "fish breath, fish breath" at them at every available opportunity. They will try to tie the boys up with seaweed at some point. Regardless, Gil Goldsand comes back to screaming, upset girls with the cove a complete mess. He quietly takes the boys to one side and tells them it's okay, girls are so hard and maybe babysitting isn't for them. He definitely doesn't invite them back or give them any money for their troubles. Rude.

Alberto and Luca return home covered in glitter and in the possession of a three-pronged fork with one of the forks broken off which was THROWN at them by one of the girls.

MISSION: FAILURE

Even with the skills displayed by both Fern (HIT THINGS UNTIL THEY BREAK) and Varian (MAKE IT EXPLODE), it seems like wisdom is their dump stat. At first it seems like the plan goes off without a hitch: they find the warehouse full of boxes and useless broken junk, and set up a series of explosions. But it's not the neatest demo job as the roof comes down around them and threatens to pin them beneath it! As the dust settles, it appears that... most of the questionable pink goods have been gone for a while. The single remaining pink stuff crate vaporized during the mayhem, which means... side effects.

Fern will be attached to a body pillow (with an image of your choice!) to the point of unhealthy, concerning obsession. Varian will be unable (or perhaps unwilling) to part with his phone for any reason, almost as if it's a dear friend. Neither will receive payment for their lack of planning and foresight. In fact, it's very much recommended that they run from the scene of the crime before they get arrested.

These effects will last 24 hours. Varian might be able to shorten it to 6 with his alchemy, if you so desire.

Quest Name: Girls Just Wanna Have Fin
Relevant Skills: Bruno is an uncle to 6 - 4 of them being girls. This is not his first rodeo and as awkward as he is around adults, he's pretty good around kids- if not brutally honest always. Luffy is also good with kids! Both will tolerate being dressed up or having glitter thrown on them and Luffy is happy to play the fool.
Anything else?: I mean, Bruno always has rats with him. Little girls LOVE rats, right? There's also always a chance he'll have an involuntary vision in the middle of it like the worst magical epilepsy ever.
