What are Side Quests and how do they work?
Side Quests are optional missions/jobs that are posted on the Libra Network each month for characters to do. New quests will appear every month around the same time as the OOC plotting post (so about the 28th), but ICly will appear on the app on the 1st of the month.

Players will sign up their characters to do particular quests, either by themselves or with a group. During the sign up, players will give information on how well a character would do on a particular quest (for example: if an illiterate character was asked to read some books to children, you should mention that they can't read). With this information factored in, the mod helper will respond with roughly how smoothly the quest will turn out based on a combination of your characters skills and RNG.

From there, players are free to play out or handwave the side quests as they wish! While we ask that players sign up for quests that are happening in the current month, players can backdate quest threads as much to your liking.

There is no limit to how many characters can be part of a single quest group. You can do quests by yourself, or have a raid party of 30 characters.

You can sign up for as many group quests (2 or more characters) as you like. While you can sign up for a solo quest, they are currently restricted to one per month per character.

Are there Rewards?
Each quest will have IC rewards for characters that vary depending on the quest and how well the characters do.

On the OOC end, turning in quest threads that have at least 3 comments from your character will earn you 1 free gacha point. The quest doesn't need to be completed, it just needs to have at least three comments from your character in order to be eligible. While you can sign up for as many group quests as you like in a month, you can only redeem up to 3 gacha points per month. Threads for quests from previous months can be redeemed as well, but it'd count towards the quest turn-ins for the current month. In group quests, when redeeming gacha points, please be sure that each player who wishes to redeem the thread for a gacha roll comments individually so we can keep track of individual free gacha totals.

Quest Name: Catch and Release
Relevant Skills: Jun has high combat skill and the ability to ensnare creatures so long as he's not interrupted in his casting. Plus he's been in the Kanto realm a lot these past couple months thanks to POKEGO work. Jusis has a fair amount of magic, can understand how horses are feeling.
Anything else?: jun will be wary about leaving the pokemon unattended and will probably insist on escorting them back himself. Jusis meanwhile has aversion to evil due to unicorn powers, so idk if that will affect things! Both of them are socially awkward but gosh they try their best.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Jun's knowledge of the Kanto realm really does help the pair find some prime pokemon locations. His and Jusis' magic helps they snare a colourful collection of pokemon- and towards the end of their gathering mission, they come across a herd of Ponyta who Jusis manages to get on the good side of thanks to his empathic link with them. The whole mission seems to be almost flawless- aside from a few runaway Ivysaurs who break free from the wrangling, this seems a perfect mission. Alba is delighted with the find, and doesn't seem that bent out of shape that they're sticking around, either.

When they return with the pokemon, Alba seems interested in Jun. Asking him a lot of questions as he sketches the Pokemon that were brought to him, maybe he's just a little overly friendly? He does give pretty strong introvert vibes. Jusis will certainly feel something coming off this guy, and he feels sick to his stomach, but Alba's so soft-spoken, and aside from being a little unhappy about their instance to lead the pokemon back once he's done, he doesn't seem that bad. Maybe Jusis' powers are on the fritz. It's a weird month.

For their victory, they each get $2000 and one of those deluxe art kits.

Quest Name: Someone's Waiting For You
Relevant Skills: two desertpunk idiots and a devil detective with extremely good combat skills and a drive to protect the innocent. Dante is a super strong devil who works as a Private Investigator and is very good at finding out information and finding things. Wolfwood has strong healing abilities and is a crackshot with his giant gun--and can hide things in his new pocket dimension. Vash has the reflexes of someone living in goddamn bullettime.
Anything else?: all three of them view children as innocent and in need of protecting, so they'll have a huge drive to want to save her, by any means necessary.

Quest Name: BLACK ORDER MISSION - HEIST
Relevant Skills: Okay lemme go over what each person is doing and if it merits a bonus.

• Jinwoo has various shadow abilities that makes him good at stealth stuff. Unfortunately he has a misfortune curse, so his bad luck cancels out his contribution to the buff. (+0)


• Lapis also has stealth abilities thanks to being able to take on the skills of certain demons/spirits. She is assisting in the actual heist part. (+1)


• Zhongli and Ash are scoping out the museum ahead of time to make sure they steal the right artifact, using their combined knowledge to do so. They also got sidetracked with an argument about checks. (+1)


• Ayato is scoping out the museum to learn the patrol routes and security measures of the museum via drinking boba drinks. (+1)


• Ei is using her mad hacking skills to hack into the museum's mainframe and lower security. (+1)


• Eunie and Velvet are on standby to make a distraction and/or heal if it's needed. (+1)

MISSION: FAILURE

Everything should have been going for this trio! They've got the brains (?) the brawn, the skill- this should have been a bakery's worth of cakewalk. But sometimes the universe gazes upon a group and loudly states "no". Dante's detective skills are great for getting them to the tunnel entrance, leading them on the right way, but that's about as much luck as they get. They almost immediately set off a whole bunch of traps- which while Vash can dodge with his bullet time, Dante and Wolfwood are likely not as lucky. They get pelted with some sticky, gelatinous goo that threatens to keep them trapped unless they manage to pull themselves out of it. Or stab it. Stabbing works. The noise of the traps brings the hoard of Viking reenactors out who are ready to fight like they were actual Vikings. Steve from Accounting is especially violent. Between the traps which keep spitting out the goo and all of the reenactors who are taking out years worth of stress out on our hapless idiots, the three end up stuck dealing with all this mess. The one good thing is that all the noise provided a great distraction for Detective Whiskers to save the kid.

For their resounding failure, they all seem to fumble everything you catch or throw for 24 hours. Detective Whiskers will patronisingly tell them that maybe they need to get some stealth lessons before they try anything like this again.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

The Black Order manage to get this mission off almost without a hitch! Zhongli and Ash's bickering certainly catches the eye of one single security guard- as does Ayato's scoping out of the security. The guy seems a little squirrelly though, probably nothing to worry about.. Ei manages to take out the security cameras, while Jinwoo and Lapis lift the items Zhongli and Ash directed them too. Jinwoo's bad luck does cause a few artefacts to clatter to the ground when he brushes against them because the universe hates him, luckily the only security guard on watch is Larry, who is patrolling outside at the time. He runs into Eunie and Velvet when it happens, and they are able to distract him from the crash of items from Jinwoos' misfortune. By the time Larry is headed back into the building, the heist is done with nary a trace left behind.

For their success, they manage to lift all the items they need. Larry the security guard gives the members he came across the evil eye if they cross paths, whispering he knows what they did. If the Black Order chase that up, they'll find Larry has set up a red-string conspiracy board with blurry pictures of the members on there with BOBA ILLUMINATI scrawled everywhere. Museum staff and police will assure that no one is taking this seriously, they don't think some innocent museum guests are to blame for this theft. Larry's just having a bad time and will be taking a sabbatical to think things through, no need to worry! It's the perfect crime to undo another crime!

Character(s) Involved: Zero (scryption) & Rose (poisontippedcure)
Quest Name: Catch and Release
Relevant Skills: Zero has enhanced strength. She is going to try not to use weapons unless really necessary since the targets need to be alive. Rose has an Anemo Vision that will let her gather up Pokemon in one area, potentially making them easier to capture, as well as the use of illusions. If any Pokemon get hurt she can heal them too.
Anything else?: Zero doesn't know much about Pokemon, but when confronted with the insatiably adorable moon bunnies in canon, she stared at them like an anime villain to the point where they got super intimidated and some of them ran. I imagine she will be doing that here. Who needs a 'mon when you can use Mean Look yourself?

The plan is to set a humane trap and herd a Pokemon into it through the use of illusions + Zero glaring, including possibly a Huge Illusion of Zero Glaring. If that doesn't work, the power of Anemo might allow them to suck in every creature in a small radius and slam dunk them into the trap. SOMETHING ought to work, good god.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Zero and Rose head into the Kaisou region to look out for some pokemon- it takes them a little while of travelling before they come across a group of Wobbuffet. Somehow the "Zero glares at pokemon until they run into Rose's trap" plan works flawlessly. The poor Wobbuffet try to make a whole display out of not being threatened by the glaring, but eventually, they retreat when she just doesn't budge- the illusions help herd them right into a trap. They rinse and repeat this a few other times with some Blissey and then a group of Gothitelle (who honestly seem more inclined to get close to Zero than anything else, maybe they think she's one of them). Eventually, they bring their captured pokemon to Alba. He promises he'll take good care of them and he'll definitely release them back into the Kanto Realm later on.

Much like Jun before her, Alba seems extremely interested in Zero and keeps asking her all sorts of questions- where's she from? where does she work? has she gone to that nice coffee place? - it's disguised as idle small talk but he certainly has an intensity to him that's clear to see. Weirdly, he doesn't have the same questions for Rose at all. He barely even acknowledges her. Which is honestly kind of rude.

For their victory, they each get $2000 and one of those deluxe art kits.

Character(s) Involved: Souta Suzukaze and Isabela Madrigal
Quest Name: Cake Boss
Relevant Skills: Isabela has been learning to cook and bake after her mother vanished from Kaisou. She has a good knack for details and tries to get things done on time. Souta has been finding ways to express himself artistically, mostly drawing. He tends be careful when working on projects. However, he has almost no experience baking, so he'll be leaning on Isabela for cupcake knowledge. Both are creative, with Isabela's experimentation using color and Souta's more traditional flower-based focus.
Anything else?: Both love plants, so there's a good chance that'll come up in their cupcake designs.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Things go great for our intrepid cake decorators. Luckily for them, they don't need to bake anything, the cupcakes are already provided. They get to work on their cupcake, and their competition quickly sees them as a threat. Doris The Soccer Mom tries to steal their green icing sugar, and Steve From Accounting attempts to sabotage the sugar flowers by trying to tip a cup of water on them. Despite everything, though, Souta and Isabela stick to their guns, not getting involved in the petty rivalry. They create a beautiful colourful flowery cupcake that storms the competition and wins them the prize.

For their great success, they each get $1000 and a delicious fancy cupcake of your choice.

Character(s) Involved: Gilgamesh and Ritsuka Fujimaru
Quest Name: Sworded Machinations
Relevant Skills: Gilgamesh has gotten back his Servant strength, reflexes, and speed, he's got a sword(le), and an (incredibly protective) chain with a sharp bit on it that he can launch at stuff/will launch itself at stuff. On the other hand, he only kinda remembers melee combat so it's a bit flying by the seat of his pants/brute-forcing the situation.
Ritsuka knows how Gilgamesh's abilities work better than he does and is the best support you could ask for with magic clothes that provide heal and attack up buffs. Ritsuka's got three years worth of directing Magical Ghost Fights, so while Gil won't be operating at the capacity she's used to, she's definitely the coach he needs.
Anything else?: Sometimes you're a pair of fighting fools who'll do anything for the vine at least once and that's okay. Probably. Gil's also got the real good luck because sometimes you're the gods' favorite son and that's okay.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Entering fantasy Costco is absolutely like stepping into madness. Everything in there is running amok. Luckily, Gil and Ritsuka are a great team- and boy is it needed. As soon as the items notice them, they turn on the pair. They have to battle a bookcase which keeps hurling spellbooks at them (some of which cause freezing or burning on impact) while brooms fly in circles above them, dive-bombing them like demented dogfighters. Luckily, with Ritsuka's direction and Gil's skills - they can battle them off with relative ease. The killing blow is when Gil manages to spell F L A M E with his swordle, sending a blast of fire at the remaining items- which luckily takes out the 1-star review sword causing all the problems, too. They decide to beat a hasty retreat as a bookcase goes up in a ball of fire. A day later, there are news reports of "horrible vandals" who set Fantasy Costco ablaze, but by some luck, none of the security cameras were working at the time (they can thank Gil's good luck for that) so they escape Scott-free!

For their amazing victory, they each get $2000 and a sword that will be imbued with lightning for 3 minutes after uttering the magic command. This can be used three times a day. When the magic is exhausted it becomes a normal sword.

Quest Name: Sworded Machinations
Relevant Skills: Sandalphon has his swordsmanship and light magic. Katsuki has explosions and fire.
Anything else?: Katsuki is here to fight things. He loves quests that let him punch things cuz he a fighty boy. Sandalphon is there because his coffee supply is low and he's trying to get it restocked. The living items trying to fight people is complicating matters.

Quest Name: My Semi-Charmed Life
Relevant Skills: Look, they're app users. Both deal with the strange on a usual basis, and Luz even has been a human in the demon realm before. Rren can research and can even update their research in real time without seeming to access a device if needed. Luz can make charts and be pretty persuasive and even add visual interest with her glyphs.
Anything else?: I feel like both of them would have a lot of interest in helping a parent understand their child. Will this make them try too hard? Only time will tell.
