Applications v.3

THIS IS AN OLD POST. IF YOU WISH TO SEE THE CURRENT APP PAGE, PLEASE GO HERE.

Okay so application is a very strong word and not entirely accurate, but it's a term we all know so bear with me. This is the page where you officially submit your character information for the game! Apps will not really be judged on its contents but more making sure everything fits into the setting of the game. If you want more information on the setting, please check out the FAQ!

To see the previous app page, you can find it here: Year 1 (2022) | Year 2 (2023)

How do I join the game?
This app page is currently open! Apps can be submitted by players at anytime. Apps are reviewed by the mod on the first and third weekend of the month, ending at 6pm EST on Sundays (so if you submit an app at 9pm on Sunday it won't get read until the following relevant weekend). Please check the calendar to see when apps will be processed next.

To join the game, you'll require an invite from another player. Players can invite up to 2 people per month. To invite someone, have the person apping list the name of the person inviting them, and then the inviter should comment to their app confirming the invite. Apps that do not have a invitation confirmation will not be looked at by the mods. If a confirmation does not come within two app processing weekends of the app's submission, it'll be automatically rejected.

A new player must be in the game one full month from their app acceptance date before they can invite another player (meaning if their app was approved on September 18th, they can invite people starting October 18th). This is so the new player has a chance to get acclimated to the game and community enough to assist any friends they later invite to the game.

Players who were in the game but who dropped/were swept will not need an invite to rejoin the game for up to one month after their drop date. After that month, they will require an invite to rejoin.

Once you submit your app, you'll get a welcome comment confirming that everything is a-okay. Sometimes revisions will be requested if there is a need to fix with power purchases or possessions.

Is there a player/cast cap?
There are a couple caps! The first cap ia an overall player cap. Kaisou allows a total of 75 players. Should we ever reach cap, apps will close until openings become available.

The second cap is on the number of players with an OU (original universe) character. To make sure OU characters do not dominate the game, there is a current limit of 35 OU players. At the start of each month, we will make sure there are at least 2 OU player slots open so new players get a chance to app an OU. To keep one cast from dominating the limited OU slots, there is an OU cast cap of 6 OU characters per cast.

Finally, there is a total cast cap of 14 characters.

PLAYER SLOTS: 25/75 filled.
OU PLAYER SLOTS: 14/35 filled.

Casts near or at Cap:
Final Fantasy XIV - 4/6 OUs NEAR OU CAP
Honkai Star Rail - 13/14 NEAR TOTAL CAP

What kind of characters do you allow?
Most things! Canon characters, Original characters, CRAU, AU characters - the list goes on. Double characters are also allowed so long as the doubles are notably different from one another (examples: MCU Peter Parker and Into the Spider-verse Peter Parker would be fine as they are two clearly different interpretations of the character. Alternatively, a canon version of a character and an AU version of the same character would be fine as long as the AU causes a notable difference in the character). Customizable protagonists and characters from canons with different story routes are allowed, and any characters with differing story routes would be considered AUs from one another.

The only requirement for a character is that they do require a consistent canon history. This is because many of the plot events and mechanics deal with memories and connections to their previous life (or current life if an OU). If you wish to app a mascot character that doesn't have a specific canon background (a vocalid, clippy, the trix rabbit, etc) - you are welcome to write an OC that's inspired by the character with a clear established background to work from. Characters who have multiple canon iterations (like Link from Legend of Zelda or Sonic the Hedgehog) will need to pick a single iteration to pull their canon background from. Characters must also have been properly introduced (not just a quick cameo) in their canon for at least one month at the time of apping.

How many characters can I play at a time?
You can play up to four active characters at a time! Only two of these characters are allowed to be Original Universe and there is an overall OU player cap as mentioned above. You may only play 2 characters from the same canon.

Players who have been in the game consistently for one year (it doesn't have to be with the same character, just the player themselves is consistently in the game) and has never been contacted by the mods about their activity will gain two additional slots so they can app 6 characters total. Their OU slot will also increase by 1, allowing them to app up to 3 Original Universe characters.

How frequently can I submit an app?
There is no time restraint on the first two characters you app. If you join the game with the intent of playing two characters, you can app them both immediately or wait it out! However after you app your second character, you will require to wait one month between each new character app (so if you app your second character on March 2nd, you will need to wait until April 2nd to app a third character). This wait time applies even if you drop a character.

Should I include content warnings on my app?
If you are asking this question, the most likely answer is yes! These apps are not only read by a human app mod, but it's also linked on the taken list as their character info, so we cannot control who reads the app. So it is usually best practice to add a content warning if your app covers any content that may be seen as triggering, just so no one is blindsided by the app's contents.

The content warning should be done in a bold and red font so it is clearly visible and is specific about the kind of content it's warning about.

Examples of content that may require a content warning include: Abuse, Child Abuse/Neglect, Animal Abuse/death, Sexual misconduct of ANY variety, Drug/Alcohol abuse or addiction, common phobias (spiders, sharks, plane crashes, etc), human trafficking, gore, torture, suicide/self-harm, and more. Basically if you feel it's something that may be triggering to another player or the mods reading, please add a content warning just to be on the safe side.

As an aside, if your character has a history of abuse, that's okay! However, when going over their personal history we ask that you not go heavy on the details of the abuse, especially when it's a case of abuse that could feasibly happen in the real world. There are human moderators that have to read through your app, and reading a detailed account of child abuse can be A Lot. It's okay to acknowledge in their backstory that abuse happened, especially if it's a major influence to why the character are the way they are, but just keep it to barebone descriptions.

What type of characters can I play in this setting?
At this time, brand new players have the option of choosing between Normal AU, Paranormal AU, and Original Universe. Players who have been in the game at least 3 months also get the option of apping characters from the Black Order, POKEGO, Zodiac factions or a "Ronin". Details for each category are below:

Normal Modern AUs
Normals AU are exactly what it says on the tin: they're normal people. These characters have lived entirely normal lives on modern day Earth. Up until the day they joined the Libra app (aka when they join the game), they've been completely oblivious to anything strange about the world. Even if something paranormal-related did happen to them, their memories remember it as a more mundane event (for example if they got attacked by a monster, they'll remember it as a dog attack) - and it's only once they join the app may they remember how those events occurred. For the most part, their AU backstory should consist of things that could reasonably happen in a modern day Earth setting.

Upon acceptance, Normal AUs will be allowed be given 9 extra regain points (in addition to the base 4 everyone gets, so 13 points total) to spend as they wish. Any regains purchased will ICly come into effect after they join the game.

Paranormal Modern AUs
Paranormal AU characters are characters who also grew up in modern day Earth, but have experienced supernatural occurrences throughout their lives. Their experiences with the supernatural can vary wildly as long as it fits into the setting of Kaisou. Maybe they've been raised by a family aware of the supernatural, or they started as normal people and ended up crossing paths with the paranormal at some point in their lives. They may even be involved with a player-run faction (aka any faction that's not Zodiac, Black Order or POKEGO), or a new faction that you made up yourself!

These characters will get 9 extra points to be spent on elemental powers (aka Kaisou original powers) they obtained during their AU backstory. These points cannot be used for canon regains (though you are welcomed to purchase elemental powers that are similar to their canon powers, or pick something entirely new!). These points can be used for monster traits, but you need to include some explanation for why they are a monster (were they cursed? An experiment? Are their parent a monsterfucker?) and they will need to be at least half-human.

Paranormal characters can also be possessed. You can read more information about on the possesion info page.

Original Universe
Original Universe characters hail from their original world and find themselves arriving into this world through the Spirit Realm. They will not lose any memories of their canon lives, will maintain their appearances no matter how anime, and are allowed to have any items that they could reasonably carry on their persons upon arrival without any enchantments (in other words, no cheating with a mary poppins bag). If they were carrying a magical bag, the bag will split open in the Spirit Realm and all the contents will come spilling out on the ground, forcing your character to grab only what they can carry.

Power wise, OUs will be alotted 6 regain points to spend on retained abilities. Feel free to consult the regain pagefor clarity on the point values. Any powers that are not retained will have to be purchased later using regain points.

Black Order/POKEGO AU
PLEASE NOTE: Due to this character type requiring a thorough understanding of the game setting, these options is only available for players who have been in Kaisou for at least 3 months.

Players are limited to only have ONE character from each faction at a time (meaning you can have one Black Order member and one POKEGO member- but not more than one in each faction) UNLESS their second character started as another character type and are undergoing an apprentice program. Brand new players, don't worry about that too much.
.

Black Order/POKEGO are AU characters who started either as Normal or Paranormal AU characters. However, unlike the other AU types who only begin regaining canon memories once they join the game, these characters began remembering their past lives and regaining canon abilities at an earlier point in their life - usually after a traumatic or high stress incident. Sometime shortly after they began remembering their past lives, they were approached by one of two factions:

THE BLACK ORDER: A secretive group devoted to protecting and preserving the Spirit Realm, particularly any realms that are considered sacred, by dispatching agents known as "Guardians" to manage supernatural incidents of note. While it varies from member to member, the Black Order aren't exactly known for being a chill group. Some Guardians join willingly while others were "strongly persuaded" to join (though after a recent rebellion, those who wish to leave the Order are now granted permission to leave). While you don't need to be religious to be part of the Black Order nor does it adhere to a particular religion, it is said to be funded by numerous religious denominations around the world. Thanks to that, Black Order Guardians will enjoy free housing (within reason, no mansions) and a comfortable salary to live on - though some may get a daytime job/go to school to keep up a persona. After a recent rebellion, the Black Order is under new leadership who tend to rule more reasonably than the previous. Thanks to the constant unusual activity in Kaisou, they have decided to send members to Kaisou and join the app in order to investigate what's going on.

POKEGO: A group devoted to the research and understanding of the Spirit Realm. All in all, they tend to be less hardcore than the Black Order and all members join willingly, though sometimes in the past it was a means to avoid joining the Black Order. POKEGO is less structured than the Black Order, with the group actually being made up of several different cohorts that focus on different areas of study related to the Spirit Realm (such as flora, fauna, gate locations, gods, etc etc). For a long time they held a positive reputation in paranormal circles, but that recently took a serious hit thanks to Professor Willow and his faction's deeds. Thanks to that, a lot of sponsors (including Zodiac) have pulled out and funding has really dried up. This means POKEGO researchers will have to find their own housing and find ways to make ends meet (in other words, you're broke). These days, the remaining members of POKEGO are working towards rebuilding their organization and repairing the bridges that have been burned.

Characters apped will either be in the role of Black Order Guardian or POKEGO Researcher that's been sent to Kaisou to help investigate the situation, and will join the Libra app in the spirit of cooperation with Zodiac (and to keep an eye on everyone). It's up to you if the character had already lived in Kaisou for some time, or is completely new in town. While both of these groups are made up of people who remember their past lives, before the events of Kaisou it was well understood among these group that regaining past memories was an extremely rare occurrence (like 1 in a few million rare), that memories of their past lives were to be kept hush-hush from outsiders - and anyone who refused to comply with the rules would have their past memories erased and powers sealed. So some may not be entirely sure how to feel about these Zodiac app users that have a lot less rules to follow. Typically POKEGO/Black Order characters should be at least 16 years of age. If you wish to app a younger one, they will be considered a trainee and special accommodations will need to be made (aka you need to talk to the mod about it).

Due to their special situations, Black Order/POKEGO characters can start with 20 regain points for their pre-purchased powers (versus the 9 that paranormal AU get). These regain points can be used for both Kaisou elemental powers AND canon regains. Black Order/POKEGO characters may also be possessed, which works the same way as Paranormal AUs.

POKEGO characters will be allowed 1 free pokemon that's up to horse size (and isn't a legendary) upon apping. This Pokemon will be completely depowered, but for 1 point you can unlock up to 4 of the abilities that are available for the Pokemon at Level 1 in the games. Any abilities beyond that would cost the same rates as if those abilities were on a player character. Additional pokemon would cost the same rate as a magical animal companion (aka based on size and they'd start with their level 1 abilities).

Zodiac AU
PLEASE NOTE: Due to this character type requiring a thorough understanding of the game setting, this option is only available for players who have been in Kaisou for at least 3 months.

Want to live out life as a corporate employee? Join Zodiac! Players are limited to ONE Zodiac employee at a time. Exceptions are made if a character decides to start working for Zodiac, but why would you.

Much like the Paranormal AUs, you were aware of the supernatural. But unfortunately, unlike the other AUs who received powers that'd make them protagonists in their own right -- you got the short end of the stick in the ways abilities manifested in you. Not only did your abilities make it difficult to maintain a life among normal citizens, but you were overlooked by elite groups like the Black Order and POKEGO.

Instead, you had to make peace with being an NPC in another hero's story and took a job with Zodiac. You have spent the past few months or years working for Zodiac and if you're particularly unlucky, helping clean up any messes the Libra app users have been leaving. Sure, it's a soulless corporation, but at least it's got dental for your fangs.

Then one day, the Libra App will appear on your personal devices and you'll begin recalling past memories. Perhaps your time as protagonist has come after all.

Due to their less-than-special situations, Zodiac characters start with 4 regain points for their pre-purchased powers (versus the 6 that paranormal AU get). They will also be allowed two free appearance regains (but nothing that gives them extra powers). Possessions are allowed, but they are possessed by lesser beings (as such, their contract price can be less severe if desired).

If you wish your Zodiac character to have more starting abilities, or you just like making them suffer, you can have them start off with flaws that will contribute to their overall pre-purchased point pool.

Players are limited to play one Zodiac employee at a time for now.

Zodiac Characters can have their apps submitted now, but won't make an IC appearance until July 2024 unless given mod permission.

FINALLY, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO THEIR FACTION'S REPUTATION, ZODIAC CHARACTERS ARE LIKELY TO HAVE A GOOD DEAL OF NEGATIVE CR FROM OTHER CHARACTERS EARLY ON. Please be prepared to deal with this should you choose to app from these factions. Even if your character is a nice person, they will likely have to work extra hard to gain the trust of those around them.

Ronin AU
PLEASE NOTE: Due to this character type requiring a thorough understanding of the game setting, this option is only available for players who have been in Kaisou for at least 3 months. In addition, it is highly recommended you discuss your plans for a Ronin AU with the mod team beforehand, as this is the app route the app mods will be strictest about.

Players are limited to only have ONE Ronin character at a time.
.

Much like POKEGO/Black Order characters, Ronin are AU characters who started either as Normal or Paranormal AU characters. Just like POKEGO/Black Order, these characters began remembering their past lives and regaining canon abilities well before the Libra app ever came into their lives - usually after a traumatic or high stress incident.

However unlike their Black Order/POKEGO counterparts, their life path deviated. Perhaps wanting to avoid being under any faction's thumb, your character spent their life living on the run - trusting no one and never staying in one place for long. It's only when you began to hear stories of Kaisou, about the folks who have destroyed Krusnik and taken a stand against the Black Order, did you decide maybe this was a refuge safe for you.

Or perhaps you shared a much worse fate than your roaming brethen. Perhaps you were taken in by the old leadership of the Black Order, but was deemed unfit for Guardian duties for some reason. Instead of sealing your abilities and memories, you were locked away by the Black Order either for safe keeping or for research. Some of these prisoners were put under a magical sleep during their time, only awakening now to a whole new world. Or, if you were very unlucky, you were awake the entire time and only now are getting to taste freedom.

Finally, Ronin status may also apply to former Black Order members who have left the organization. Ronin status will also be applied to any Black Order members who decide to leave, but more on that later.

Due to their special situations, Ronin characters can start with 20 regain points for their pre-purchased powers (versus the 9 that paranormal AU get). These regain points can be used for both Kaisou elemental powers AND canon regains. Ronin characters may also be possessed, which works the same way as Paranormal AUs.

Player Name: Prince

Invited by: already hhhheere
Other Characters: wriothesley vash jinwoo vergil

Character Name: Sampo Koski
Canon: Honkai StarRail
Canon History: Here

Canon Personality:
🎭 Playful and Friendly -- No matter the conversation or situation, Sampo has a habit of always taking the role of the funny guy. Even if the situation calls for a serious tone, he's someone who always needs to make playful comments or make jokes in order to bring some levity or to cut tension. He's someone who avoids difficult conversations, opting to always go for what's fun, or profitable at the time. When speaking to others--stranger and friend alike--he tends to call them playful nicknames or general terms like "bro" or "dude."

🎭 Quick Wit -- Playful and foolish as he acts most of the time, Sampo isn't fully the fool he pretends to be. He's someone who is very good at keeping out of trouble; or, at the very least, getting caught for participating in trouble. Moving so quickly as to not make a sound or even leave behind a trail, Sampo is very quick to know when is a good time to skip out on his current predicaments, or when best to insert himself into a situation in order to get an upper hand.

🎭 Loyal when it counts -- While Sampo cannot be a man who could be accused of holding true and unblinking loyalty to any one person or cause, it can be said that so long as he sees a benefit in it or when he's truly invested in a relationship with someone, he will go out of his way to help them or even put himself at a deficit or disadvantage in order to help them out. His whole M.O. usually involves turning a profit, or having fun--he will forgo these things in order to help someone out. He'll usually deflect his do-goodings at a loss to have been a long term investment, but truth is, despite how he acts, he can care about others.

🎭 Say one thing--do another. While he most certainly makes a living off doing dubious things, making scams and one-sided deals that benefit him, Sampo doesn't come across as 'Evil' so much as he's an 'Opportunist--' he also seems to be more drawn to scamming people who can afford the loss. For as much as he tries super hard to come across as the 'shady underhanded man'--he could be attributed to helping the Underworld survive, being the only person who can move between the Overworld and the Underworld to bring them necessary things that they have no other way of getting. He has a reputation, yes, but part of it seems like a farce so that people don't attribute him to being TOO much of a good guy. He still needs to make a profit sometimes, after all.

🎭 Sometimes you're a shady motherfucker-- the easiest way to get by in life is by keeping the secrets of your success close to your chest. Sampo is seen doing some rather sketchy things that can't be explained--including and not limited to being able to move between the over and underworld in Belobog--something noone else is capable of; putting people to sleep using smoke bombs, being able to somehow move without making a sound or leaving footprints--just to name a few. It's also worth noting that, despite being on a planet that's been cut off to the outside for the last 700+ years, he has knowledge of other planets that someone locked in a black hole should not have; such as knowing things about Epsilon --a different planet--and showing up in Penacony. He's a member of the masked fools--followers of Elation--and often makes comments about being 'a shadowy comic relief.'

🎭 NOT THE FACE -- While being an adept fighter with a pair of knives that he can use in close combat, almost every other part of his fighting skill is a very cowardly way of fighting. Smokebombs aside, he prefers leaving wounds that do damage without having to hit his opponent a second time--but many of his in-battle quotes suggest he might be a bit of a coward--or that he at least doesn't like fighting. Yelling things like not wanting to get hit, being unsure about approaching a strong enemy--and then making a joke that taking risks is how you win fights(with a tone that suggests he'd been worried he might not win.) Also, his main weapon being a pair of knives is one thing, but his main way of attacking is a preference to attaching them together and throwing them at range like a boomerang.

🎭 Prankster - From sending mail-in scams to people he considers friends to buying and selling artifacts that may not be actually worth their weight in credits, Sampo seems to enjoy playing tricks on people for the fun of it--not just for his money-making crimes. Everyone's a sucker if they fall for a quick trick or two. He doesn't seem at all bothered that he has a bad reputation; wanted posters of him easy to find around Belobog, not to mention how the silvermane guards are almost always on the lookout for him. He comments that his back-and-fourth with Gepard has become something he almost enjoys, these days.

🎭 Committed to the Bit -- The Customer is King--and to betray the king--well. Sampo has no problem turning customers into targets if the price is right. While he has his loyalties and the people he won't betray--that's not to say that he actually thinks of all his customers as people he needs to be loyal to. He can be bought and sold--the highest bidder gets his loyalty, for the most part. He is committed to this image of being a merchant and a salesman; the way he talks and acts is very showy and dramatic. He calls himself by name in the third person, often makes jokes at his own expense and has a very odd Business Model. Being profitable doesn't require always being the player who dominates--it's being the player who knows how to play a situation. Sampo is not above acting like a fool, demeaning himself, putting himself in embarrassing situations and making himself seem pathetic if it means, at the end of the day, he's got something to show for it.

AU Name: Samuel Kovac
AU Age: 37
AU Birthday: April 1st

AU History:
Life as a clever-minded poor kid can be hard. Especially when you have dreams of being an entrepreneur and while you have the wits and mind to be able to be successful in business, it's hard when you come from a family that can't really afford to send you to school.

Relying on a plethora of scholarships he achieved through hard work and a little shady work in highschool, Samuel Kovac managed to land himself down and center on one of the best schools he could for learning his trade. Problem was, it was a private college where he would be learning alongside what were mostly all trust fund kids and people from a society much higher than his own. This made him a little bit of a target for disrespect--but he hardly lets this get him down. Having to make his own way alongside his scholarships, Samuel became very good at making money off these trust fund kids; be it by selling things they needed and couldn't get on campus--be it cheaper snacks than what could be afforded in the onsite campus to shadier things like weed or Adderall--he always found a way to get by.

He managed to make a few friends by the time he was in his third year; getting a few odd jobs by being a delivery boy or even babysitter for people who lived on or near the campus, he was looking for a pretty easy way through school. Until he started getting a little careless with his entrepreneurial ideas. Having found a back door into one of his teacher's computer account, he managed to sneak into a server that held all the test keys for the semester, and he started selling them for 'guarenteed passing grades' to students.

This would have been a fine way of making some quick, good money, for sure--if it weren't for the fact that he sold a bad test key to the wrong trust fund kid. While test keys are the answers to a test--they don't work if they're not studied properly. The student was desperate to get at least a C to prove to his father that he was worth investing in still--so he wouldn't lose his monthly allowance he'd spend definitely on things he definitely needed. If those things are drugs and alcohol.
Failing to properly study the bought test key and getting an F, the student planned revenge on Samuel for 'not delivering as promised', and set him up on a job that was supposed to be easy. Take a box of computer parts to someone off campus and collect a nice paycheck of 400$. It was supposed to be the simplest job he'd taken that week--but upon arriving to the drop-off area, he was instead jumped by a group of hired thugs, beaten half to death, mugged, and then shot dead in the parking lot of an abandoned grocery store.

He should have died there, but instead, he was surrounded with a cacophony of bells and laughter and his life was spared--for a price. A voice whispers in his ears and offers to save him from the brink of death if, for a moment, he'd consider living his life in a much more fun way. The being called itself Aha. Desperate to live and not wanting this to be the way he ends, he begs for his life and he wakes up alone, in a pool of his own blood, with his car gone and all of his belongings either stolen or broken upon the pavement. He struggles to his feet, weak and tired, and tries to get the hell out of there, with his new companion he decides to simply call 'The Laughter'.

He decides to first go home--back to the dorm. He needed medical attention or perhaps just to clean up and get some sleep--somehow alive despite being shot in the head and feeling strange, he was approached by a pair of black-cloaked figures who call themselves member of 'The Black Order'. They hastily explain to him in no uncertain terms that they needed him to go with them to be debriefed on his survival and the 'Magic' he now had. Cooperation was the only option unless he wanted to have his life disrupted.

Fearful of being kidnapped by some sketchy cult on top of being killed, The Laughter offered him an option and his new powers activated for the first time: causing the two Order members to fall into a deep, unrousing sleep there on the street.

He's terrified--having almost died and now having seemingly killed two men; he flees, in an attempt to find a payphone to call his parents. Only to be cornered by two new Order members. Pulling the trick a second time, desperately crying out that he's sorry--It's only this time as one of the member snores loudly that he realises they fell asleep, not have died. He sits and tries to think--they won't leave him alone and his life is over. Where The Laughter once again speaks. Seeing him so scared so far has been hilarious and in return for such entertainment, it offers him a different choice.

Samuel slips into a spirit vein and disappears.

The next 15 years are a dizzying dance between Samuel and The Order -- gaining strange powers of Stealth and Shapeshifting, being able to move between worlds and learning of a 'past life' where he went by a different name. All the while learning how to live a life of someone on the run constantly from the Black Order, Samuel got very good at traveling between worlds and hiding in the various underworlds all over America, never staying still long enough for the Black Order to properly catch him. Becoming extremely good at hiding himself by changing his appearance and staying out of sight. He takes on the appearance of men, women, otherworldy beings, it doesn't matter--Still putting people to sleep if they get too close and then disappearing into a crowd. Anything to keep out of the hands of the Order as he has come to realise what their M.O. is and it's really, really not his style. At all. In order to protect those in his previous life, he decides to simply remain 'missing', even if it means they all lose a son, a friend, a family member--it's better people think he's dead, rather than to put any of them in danger by bringing the order around them.

His current settlement is in Kaisou's Undertown, going by the name from his past life, doing work for himself and for the underworld faction called Ghost City where he suddenly gains access to the Zodiac app...

AU Personality Differences: Whereas in the game he tends to keep people at arm's length and never really shows any true loyalty to anyone, keeping secrets and to himself--in this setting he's a little less divorced from those around him. He does have a certain loneliness that he wishes he didn't have, missing the ability to have things like friends and family, but always having to be on the run makes it hard.

He also is not quite as attached to this idea that he lives to the tune of the Elation that he's forced to follow and much of the time his playing pranks on people is out of necessity more than he does it for his own entertainment. He's just gotten so used to it that it's second nature, by now. The laughter has to be appeased--he doesn't want it to take over. Because it has mentioned it could, if it really wanted to.

Fortunately, Samuel's very good at being funny.

Element: Shadow
Purchased Powers:
🎢Stealth (Medium) (2pts)
🎢 Sleep Induction (Master) (4pts)
🎢 Shapeshifting (High) (3pts)

Possession: An entity that Sampo refers to as 'The Laughter', he's possessed by a being known as the Aeon of Elation. He won't call Aha by name, but he knows well the price--given the power of the entity, two prices he pays for sharing space with this spirit are:

1. Seek Joy - above everything else, Sampo must make a point to do things in his day-to-day that he considers fun. Be this telling jokes, or having conversations with others, to having a nice dinner or anything of the sort. So long as he's having a good time, The Laughter is appeased.

2. Play Games - At least once a week, he has to play a trick on someone or do something to make another person laugh. Be it by means of scamming someone, a practical joke, a prank call--it doesn't matter. He can be as creative as he wants, so long as someone's made a fool.
