In early 2021 (before game start), the Spirit Vein over the city of Kaisou began exhibiting abnormal behavior. It began with the arrival of a couple "isekais", people from another world who found themselves stranded in this world. The company Zodiac took charge in looking after the Isekais and monitoring the situation.

In 2022 (game start), the situation grew more severe. Not only did more isekais arrive, but some citizens within Kaisou began remembering memories of previous lives and gaining unusual abilities. Zodiac responded by creating the Libra app, a social media app that serves people being affected by the situation. A few weeks later, Spirit Gates began manifesting a monthly rate in the city of Kaisou. These gates leads to several different parts of the Spirit Realm, sometimes peaceful but often dangerous. After the appearance of the second Spirit Gate in February, Zodiac contracted Professor Willow from the researcher faction POKEGO to assist them.

As the year went on, the situation continued to get worse. In May after the appearance of La Llorona, the mysterious group the Black Order made their presence known. While initially hostile to the users of the Libra app, once they realized that the app users weren't the cause of the situation, they decided to continue monitoring the situation in a less hostile manner.

In August, a group of teenagers decided to take matters into their own hands and created a portal to travel through the Spirit Realm. This horribly backfired as all they did was essentially punch a hole into the barrier between Earth and the Spirit Realm, resulting in dinosaurs invading Kaisou and the barrier weakening enough to allow for tears in reality to begin appearing.

Eventually, the app users were able to discover some truth of the world: Kaisou's Earth is a world comprised of souls from previously destroyed worlds that survived and were reincarnated into this world. Thus all the previous memories and abilities the app users were obtaining came from a past life from a destroyed world.

Finally things came to a head in October/November, when the sun god Ra was kidnapped and it caused the sun itself to stop rising over Kaisou. App users who went to resolve the situation discovered that it was Professor Willow, who had kidnapped Ra in an attempt to make the old god restore his past life's world. Professor Willow was also responsible for all the damage to the Spirit Vein that's been causing all the anomalies to occur from his own attempts to travel the Spirit Realm. He was taken into custody and eventually sent to Florida as punishment.

Now with the mystery solved for who was responsible, the app users are now left to figure out what to do next. The Isekai still haven't returned home, and the Spirit Vein is still damaged and behaving unusually. While Zodiac predicted the vein will heal itself, it in fact seems to increasing in severity....

Event Summary: The Libra App was first launched, and people began experiencing new powers and memories for the first time. A gate to Nifelheim, the frozen Norse afterlife, appeared within Kami State Park. Within the realm characters fought a Valkyrie, who unbeknownst to everyone, was not a true Valkyrie but a possessed person who failed to uphold their contract.
What Normal People Remember: It was cold and there was a winter carnival.

Event Summary: The Spirit Realm of Kanto, a post-apocalyptic version of the Pokemon world, appeared. Characters were able to meet and befriend Pokémon. They also met Professor Willow and the POKEGO faction, who would serve as information providers to the app users. Also while they were small so they mostly went unnoticed, the first world changes began to happen with the arrival of the cosmos canyon drink and glaze lilies - a sign that the Spirit Realm has begun morphing the reality of Kaisou itself.

Event Summary: Random items started spilling out of the Spirit Vein and into Kaisou (the gacha system). Meanwhile the Fae court decided to kidnap app users to make them permanently join the court. While they were eventually rescued, some of them ended up forever cursed by the Fae.
What Normal People Remember: Some people suddenly went on vacation for awhile. Maybe it was Spring Break?

Event Summary: App users were asked to restore the peaceful farming realm of Stardew Valley, who had been corrupted by some unknown force. To assist, the god of wine Dionysus (but called himself "D") came and threw an incredible party.

Event Summary: La Llorona appeared in Kaisou and began drowning people throughout the city. While investigating, the App Users had a run in with the Black Order, who was determined to protect the realm La Llorona was connected to even at the cost of innocent people's lives. After getting through them, app users reached the Spirit Realm of the Mexican after life Land of the Forgotten. Here they found remnants of their forgotten past worlds, and learned this realm needs sacrifices in order to survive. Thus several characters agreed to play a game of deadly soccer, in which the losing team was sacrificed. A few days later, the losing team was revived by the goddess La Muerte as a thank you.
What Normal People Remember: There were a lot of accidental drownings this month. Was it part of a tiktok challenge gone wrong?

Event Summary: App users had pieces of themselves taken by Wizeman the Wicked and were forced to travel to the Night Dimension to get them back, where they had to directly confront their dreams and nightmares all while wearing ridiculous jester outfits.

Event Summary: To help escape the heat and summer storms, App users were given an idyllic beach vacation in the Spirit Realm. Though for some who couldn't leave some things well enough alone, they ended up on a dangerous pirate adventure that took them through all sorts of danger. Meanwhile Zodiac implemented a child safety protection spell that would make sure no child 15 years or under could wander into dangerous parts of the Spirit Ream unchaperoned.
What Normal People Remember: It was hot and humid and stormy.

Event Summary: A few teenagers decided to take matters into their own hands and created a portal that'd let them travel to other worlds. This unfortunately backfired and caused them to make an opening to a post-apocalyptic version of Jurassic Park. Dinosaurs flooded into Kaisou and it took a great deal of effort to get the realm sealed up once more. Meanwhile the app users also met the Professor, a blue furry puppet who loves history and got stuck in Jurassic Park after...well a long story.
What Normal People Remember: There was a bad storm that caused a lot of damage and got some people killed.

Event Summary: App users learned that their past lives came from worlds that no longer exist. Not only that, but that no one is really sure what happens to the OUs once they do leave Kaisou. The app users were also invited to visit the Great Library of Alexandria, that let them read to their hearts desire and learn more information about their previous lives.

Event Summary: As the veil between the Spirit Realm and Earth thinned, normal people began to notice the supernatural more. Not only that, but demons began to appear in Kaisou and ended up kidnappig several people for sacrifice. Characters went to the realm known as the Qliphoth, in order to beat the demonic army and save the kidnapped victims. But before anyone could have a chance to celebrate, the sun started disappearing from the sun until it had vanished completely by the end of the month.
What Normal People Remember: I could've sworn I saw something supernatural - but I'm pretty sure I imagined it. Also we sure did have a lot of dark cloudy days huh?

Event Summary: To get back the sun, characters traveled to the Egyptian afterlife of Duat that was hidden in the Spirit Vein itself. There, they discovered that Professor Willow had kidnapped the sun god Ra in an attempt to revive his past life's world. It was also revealed that Willow and some of his associates in POKEGO were the true cause behind the Spirit Realm's erratic behavior. He was taken into custody and with the sun god freed, the sun returned to the sky.

Event Summary: A peaceful month for the holidays, app users got a chance to travel to Christmas Town and help Santa with Christmas. Anyone who tried to fight Santa, however, got their ass thoroughly whooped. Meanwhile, some app users began to notice they were taking on rather monstrous changes...

Event Summary: The monster changes continued to spread, while app users were requested to assist with escorting the famous Zodiac Animals through their annual race. As a reward, they were offered some cash or the chance to gain an immortal peach that will grant immortality to anyone who consumes it. While most picked the cash, Moxxie and Varian both took peaches. Varian with the intent to study it, while Moxxie sold it to Zodiac for $40k. Varian's peach blew up his apartment during an experiment gone wrong, and he was recruited by Zodiac to help them study Moxxie's peach.

Meanwhile, as part of their agreement made after the Willow incident, a few Black Order members were sent to Kaisou and joined the Libra app so they can keep a closer eye on things. This was met with mix reception.

Event Summary: Characters were sent to The Constant, an unusual realm where basically everything is trying to kill you and the night is full of unspeakable terrors. Made worse was that Fern lost control of his grass demon and caused trouble for a number of app users and the Black Order. Meanwhile, a couple POKEGO members who weren't aligned with Willow join the app in hopes of repairing relations for their organization. Unfortunately they brought the scariest kind of person you could present to a crew of deeply screwed up folks: a therapist.

Event Summary: The Fae returned to Kaisou, after the Seelie and Unseelie factions splintered once again. The Seelie attempted to make Kaisou their new home, but between them cursing anyone who looked at them funny and their penchant for kidnapping children - it was quickly decided this arrangement wouldn't work and they traveled into the realm to deal with the Unseelie so the Seelie would leave.

Meanwhile Zodiac began to show more and more erratic behavior. Varian, having worked with Zodiac since January, sounded the alarm that Zodiac's board members had turned into demons and intended to consume immortal peach- leaving the city stuck with immortal capitalists. The Black Order devised a plan secretly to use an ace up their sleeve to combat the threat, and surely there's no way this would backfire.
What Normal People Remember: Blue Fish Lake park looks unusually green! Also why does my kid keep disappearing to there?

Event Summary: Anyway so the Black Order's plan backfired, trapping four people (Jusis, Takame, Waver, Danny) in Spirit Realm dungeons that was shaped to reflect their own inner turmoil. Their friends and other concerned folks went in to save them and force them to confront their inner demons. Meanwhile everyone went to face actual demons, as they infiltrated a Metaverse version of the Zodiac building. They managed to steal the peach before it could be consumed, though Moxxie was killed during the fight (he got better).

After the fact, an employee of Zodiac indicated that it's possible the actions of everyone triggered a change of heart in Zodiac, but time will only tell what that'll mean....

Event Summary: Zodiac’s post of the month seemed to indicate a real change in tone of how they could do better, but the app users still called BS. A Walled City showed up populated by Robotic Folks made by a group called NecoCorp. So the app users were tasked with helping the robot people out with their various tasks in the Gate. Also, cats. So many cats.

Event Summary: An inexplicable tornado came through Kaisou dragging some unfortunate denizens from the Spirit Realm of Oz into the city. With the information they, from the Lolipop Guild, provided the app users tried to help rebuild while the Black Order apprehended a guy selling memory altering water, POKEGO started mapping Kanto and someone was freed from their Possession, Ash. Weirdly enough, these weird things called Heartless popped up in Oz too. Wonder what that was about?
What Normal People Remember: PRIDE MONTH!!! But the anime convention got postponed. Homophobic, tbh.

Event Summary: Heavy rain is worse due to the damaged Spirit Vein. Eventually the Lost City of Atlantis appeared and it’s discovered that through them stealing crystals belonging to the Spirit Realm originally for their own growth and power, they were pulled into it. After helping them with a Leviathan problem, they offered one of the crystals for the app users to use to power whatever they need but declined ultimately. Smart.
What Normal People Remember: It may be rainy all the time, but ANIME CON TIME.

Event Summary: While a new Stable Gate in Hyrule appeared and some helpful souls are regarded as legends for their help, Krusnik made their move on the city setting up a makeshift base to retrieve their escapees and acquire more. They nearly succeeded, taking Takame Kesi, Rose Qeido and Vergil Vittore into their base. But through the efforts of the app users and the Black Order team, the three were rescued and the agents Weissmann and Philip were eliminated.

Event Summary: Event Summary: The effects of the full moon have become much stronger for those cursed, but the new Cygnus Academy has begun operations in earnest. Meanwhile, Hyrule is still able to be accessed and the Library of Alexandria makes a return for the AU’s to learn about their past lives again, and for the OU’s to perhaps learn more than they should.

The Library also granted our factions something. For POKEGO, closure as to why Willow went the route he did. For The Black Order, a way out… at the cost of the world forgetting them, or a loss of their power.

Event Summary: A sacred Spirit Realm Gate opened for people to potentially converse with the spirits of their deceased loved ones and some folks from Osorezan Japanese Cultural Group ran a festival. Meanwhile, a few people disappeared and were put through a hellish cabin where their personalities were altered, their lives were toyed with and some even lost in brutal fashion.

Once all were retrieved, a few app users set out on a month-long journey via Edward Kenway’s ship the Jackdaw to the Black Order headquarters to get someone important to Guardian Zhongli out: Azhdaha.

What Normal People Remember: I could swear there was a real fox tail on that street vendor…

Event Summary: So, remember how Atlantis got pulled into the Spirit Realm? Well, Kaisou got pulled into it this month and became overrun with Yokai and Oni who caused massive amounts of destruction. Everyone banded together to get them out of their city and take out Yamata-no-Orochi so that an ally of sorts, Lord Ao, could keep the city out of the Realm for One Year. This totaled parts of the city, but everything returned to normal.

Until the app users out at sea dropped a very angry Azhdaha into the totaled Central Square but they also took care of that it’s fine.

What Normal People Remember: There was a massive earthquake, maybe even two? The city’s gonna take a while to recover from that, sheesh…

Event Summary: Not only has another Stable Gate appeared in El Nido, but the Crystal Tower has appeared too right in Central Square. It had to be cleared of monsters and such, but it also didn’t leave after the month ended. Maybe it’ll come in handy?

There was also the second instance of someone being freed from their possessor, Blade, and the consequence of a possessor killing two people. Lovely.
What Normal People Remember: It’s cold and the construction in Central Square is very loud.

Event Summary: The Black Order sent over Guardian Teresa to monitor the situation in Kaisou. But everyone knows it’s just them trying to pull a power move over the app users. Everyone hates her. Also, Cupid’s realm has opened up and the app users had to help the work backload and negotiate for better working conditions for the Cherubs who were causing chaos by shooting arrows at people that make them become more emotionally honest. You know, the true horror plot.

Event Summary: The Fae are back with their Seelie and Unseelie war nonsense. This time though they’re throwing a tournament with app users on one side or another to resolve their problems. Perfect for the violent people. Maybe the fear of Dante and Vergil going at it for hours will keep the Fae from dragging the city into this nonsense again…

Also, Edward killed Teresa. Oh no. Anyway.

Event Summary: Someone had to be mad about Teresa being killed, and it’s The Black Order. They’re really cracking down on Kaisou and until someone fesses up about who killed her, they’ll keep doing that. But hey, that aside there’s a nice Animal Crossing Island Vacation ready for the app users while they help good ol’ Tom Nook to build and develop on it because you know. Land Development.

Also, the Black Order sent two more dudes, Ashiya Douman and Dickson, but at least they’re not assholes like Teresa. Right?
What Normal People Remember: Whoa, the plants are going crazy this isn’t good for allergy season…

Event Summary: The Dark Hour, another hour of night where Shadows roam, has hit Kaisou. Also, remember how Douman and Dickson weren’t jerks? That was a lie. And they kidnapped four more people, Fugo, Rose, Caleb and Wolfwood, and threw them into Spirit Realms dungeons of their own inner turmoil much like last year until they know who killed Teresa.

So naturally, the app users went on to save their friends and scale the Crystal Tower-turned-Tartarus in the Dark Hour to kill Douman and Dickson. But with two more Zealots killed, who knows how the Order will react now…
What Normal People Remember: Wow, feels like I got a whole extra hour of sleep!

Event Summary: The Black Order is… quiet. Too quiet. Perhaps because they know trying to take a bunch of gays head-on during Pride Month is a death sentence. It gave the app users the time to enjoy the festivities and calm while going into the world of Barbie to help with their many existential crises. And Ken? Well, they’re all just Kens.
What Normal People Remember: The moms are complaining about new Barbies again, just let us be gay in peace Jessica.

Event Summary: The Order decided to break their silence in outright targeting and attacking members of the Kaisou team, sending mechs and three Zealots, Shay Cormac, Homura Akemi and Cú Chulainn Alter. On the other hand, Zodiac has sent some of their team to help in the efforts to put a stop to the Black Order’s excessive violence.

The App users discovered they’ve been coming from Teyvat’s Fortress of Meropide which appeared in Kaisou. They took the fortress back from the Order and found a way into their HQ where they could finally take the fight to the Order.
What Normal People Remember: Wow, those are some loud fireworks! Let’s watch them from the con!

Event Summary: While the Zodiac employees that joined the App looked for a way into Asgard where TBO HQ is, two of the leaders known as the “Unyielding” showed up in town, Kratos Aurion and Arianrhod, through an ambush and a challenge respectively.

After taking them out, the app users faced the remaining three in Asgard: Ryujirou Tsuchigomori, Kirei Kotomine and Jun Wu. The fights were incredibly grueling, but they were all taken down eventually. And what the future of the Black Order becomes is up to them to create.
What Normal People Remember: Hey, have you tried the fried ranch from the county fair yet?

Event Summary: With the Black Order as it once was gone, crimes around Paranormal sections of Kaisou have been increasing and what’s left of the Kaisou team has to pick up the pieces and the slack. Meanwhile, POKEGO has been able to return to relative business as usual as they try to build bridges and navigate the newly found Johto region. Too bad the fae turned them and many others into Pokemon too.

In the midst of that, a calm island was found off of Stardew Valley named Coral Island that the app users banded together to clean up and tame the slimes that have made their home around.
What Normal People Remember: I’m not getting in that Hot Air Balloon, YOU do it, coward!

October 2024 (earth)

Event Summary: An Unknown Spirit Gate… called the Unknown appeared and at the heart of it an embodiment of despair laid beyond a seemingly cordial Woodsman and a myriad of other traps many Zodiac workers were trapped in. The app users and some fellow employees helped to free them and end the despair.

But another few weren’t so lucky as they were trapped on a ship called the Event Horizon and forced to fight each other and themselves to survive. And some didn’t survive at all. All this happens while the Sword of Damocles’ tip is right at Kaisou’s neck.
What Normal People Remember: I SWEAR to GOD that guy had an LEGIT TAIL.

Event Summary: And then that sword fell, the one year time limit running out the city being pulled into the Spirit Realm again and being flooded with Heartless trying to reach the World Tree Yggdrasil, the Heart of all worlds. While the city fought the Heartless off a select few scaled the Crystal Tower to activate a barrier that would keep the city safe for much longer.

But they found it changed, AGAIN, and turned into Castle Oblivion where the more they scaled the more memories they lost then encountered as rooms within each floor. Once the Lingering Will at the top was defeated, Roxas and Riku sealed off the keyhole to Yggdrasil to keep the Heartless away from getting it for good.
What Normal People Remember: Why is everyone so on edge, they’re acting like another Earthquake is about to happen… Must be Holiday stress.

Event Summary: Despite Dragonspine Mountain appearing at the outskirts of town and those same outskirts still contained in the Spirit Realm, everyone has a chance to breathe and enter a realm where the snowflakes dance and the biggest threat is a dance battle against many rat soldiers.

Also, Santa just said fuck it we’ll set up arena battles for anyone who wants to fight. But he was the same jolly guy about it, so... it’s fine? Probably.
