What are Side Quests and how do they work?
Side Quests are optional missions/jobs that are posted on the Libra Network each month for characters to do. New quests will appear every month around the same time as the OOC plotting post (so about the 28th), but ICly will appear on the app on the 1st of the month.

Players will sign up their characters to do particular quests, either by themselves or with a group. During the sign up, players will give information on how well a character would do on a particular quest (for example: if an illiterate character was asked to read some books to children, you should mention that they can't read). With this information factored in, the mod helper will respond with roughly how smoothly the quest will turn out based on a combination of your characters skills and RNG.

From there, players are free to play out or handwave the side quests as they wish! While we ask that players sign up for quests that are happening in the current month, players can backdate quest threads as much to your liking.

There is no limit to how many characters can be part of a single quest group. You can do quests by yourself, or have a raid party of 30 characters.

You can sign up for as many group quests (2 or more characters) as you like. While you can sign up for a solo quest, they are currently restricted to one per month per character.

Are there Rewards?
Each quest will have IC rewards for characters that vary depending on the quest and how well the characters do.

On the OOC end, turning in quest threads that have at least 3 comments from your character will earn you 1 free gacha point. The quest doesn't need to be completed, it just needs to have at least three comments from your character in order to be eligible. While you can sign up for as many group quests as you like in a month, you can only redeem up to 3 gacha points per month. Threads for quests from previous months can be redeemed as well, but it'd count towards the quest turn-ins for the current month. In group quests, when redeeming gacha points, please be sure that each player who wishes to redeem the thread for a gacha roll comments individually so we can keep track of individual free gacha totals.

Quest Name: Get in the Robot
Relevant Skills: So Ritsuka loves mecha/giant robots, and thus has a decent amount of your typical mecha nerd knowledge of how these things supposedly work. She's also had a little up close experience with mecha-adjacent stuff some of the servants created/summoned, as well as commanding Servants in fighting against titanic Machine Gods. She's somewhat lacking in non-videogame experience of actually driving (or piloting) something and doesn't have direct combat skills, but again she's seen a lot of combat and knows how to strategize and make tactical decisions even in the heat of battle.
Anything else?: Ritsuka's going to be approaching this absolutely full of enthusiasm. So much enthusiasm. We're talking that even if she absolutely gets her ass handed to her, even that won't really dampen her spirits because for a brief, glorious moment she got to pilot a mecha. She will still absolutely give it her all, of course, if she has to fight she'll fight to win, but. Look I'm just saying there's a nonzero chance of squeeing being involved here.

Stax Snively is pretty amused by Ritsuka's boundless enthusiasm with the whole mech adventure. Sure, she might not have much experience but she's got the spirit and that turns out to be a big boon for her. It turns out one of the controllers for it has a more than passing resemblance to a game controller! What luck! The gnomes are relentless in their attack on her- but she's able to strategise her moves- not helped by one of them not realising he's on loudspeaker and keeps ANNOUNCING what they're going to do for all to hear like they're in some sort of anime. It's not hard for her to keep ahead of them and make short work of them. One of the gang manages to escape, but two of them get dragged in to explain their shenanigans to the police. Again. The residents are very grateful for Ritsuka's hard work!

For your victory, you get $2500, a coupon for Void Denny's dessert and a bunch of metal junk.

Quest Name: A Bone to Pick (Up)
Relevant Skills: Ash and Fugo are both observant and thorough, and they will do their damnedest to make sure they find all the missing pieces of that poor skeleton and put them back where they belong. As for dealing with the three-headed dog... Well, if worst comes to worst, both boys are combat capable but primarily, they're going to try to befriend it. Hopefully between Ash's temporary fire immunity, Fugo's animal love, and the fact that both of them are bringing their canine Pokemon (an easily spooked Houndour and a Maschiff), they can pull something off and be able to get that femur back. Ash also tends to carry around dog treats and they're also both willing to just. Go buy meat to bring to the dog.
Anything else?: Fugo also has the low-level (+1) luck boost!

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

The boys are off to a great start! They find each and every bone flawlessly- having their canine Pokemon with them turned out to be a great idea because they're able to sniff out and dig up a good number of them. Fugo's luck definitely plays a part in locating them quickly! The three-headed dog is initially guarded, while it follows the Pokemon around in their running and playing, it keeps the femur in its mouth. Up until the treats are brought out anyway. Then the bone is abandoned for the delicious snackies. Fugo and Ash are able to get the femur into place and the spirit is delighted. The crying stops and the three-headed dog gets to have a puppy play date. Everyone wins!!

For their amazing victory, they each get $800 and a haunted stereo. The stereo only plays Halloween music. Sometimes, their new doggo friend will find them out and about and will bring them things it finds that it thinks they'll like. These are never useful, usually old boots or a half-chewed trash can lid- sometimes bones. But it's doing its best!!

Quest Name: Pint of Interest
Relevant Skills: Lucy has low-level healing, low-level heat resistance, medium-level fire conjuring, and the occasional burst of flame when she gets mad, but what's most relevant here is going to be her natural charm and charisma, which will be exceedingly helpful in convincing saboteurs to turn back and pretty please stick to the spirit of the competition. she also will be happy to use her radio show's profile to essentially bribe more stubborn saboteurs with guaranteed guest spots, if push comes to shove.
Anything else?: Lucy and her radio show will be backing Oden and defending the country bar team from saboteurs! she herself won't be assisting in any sabotages and, indeed, if somebody from her own team enacts their own sabotage she'd treat them in much the same way as she'd treat saboteurs from the other team. unfortunately, she believes in fair play.

MISSION: VERY SUCCESSFUL

Having a radio personality really does help Oden's cause greatly! The Country Bar is delighted and definitely props Lucy up in their mud-slinging against Travis and his Bougie Bar. Does Travis have a radio show person batting for HIM? They think not!!! Naturally, there's plenty of sabotaging attempts- Travis' gang tries to put vinegar in Oden's cold brew, but luckily a show of fire conjuring from Lucy puts paid to that. Oden's team has a plan to get them back by ruining Travis' extremely hipster bread proving- but luckily Lucy can convince them to think otherwise. Besides, they'd rather have the GOOD publicity on their side. Once both bars are brought into line, it's Oden's that come on top with Lucy's support, something they will hoot and holler over for the entire year! In your FACE, Boogie Weirdos!!

For her amazing victory, Lucy gets $100, a free drink and free meal ticket at the winning establishment. Oden and the Country Bar ask Lucy to sign a photograph, which they proudly put up behind their bar to show they are endorsed by a for-realsies local celebrity!

Quest Name: Snow More Heroes
Relevant Skills: Minato has advanced shadow magic and his skill with a sword should probably be somewhat applicable to wielding a shovel like a weapon. Meanwhile Cassandra has intermediate level conjure fire and temporary super strength, not to mention good raw strength from working on a farm and spending years picking fights against punks and (later) monsters alike.
Anything else?: After talking a bit with Maggie, Minato likely just brought the idea forward to Cassandra casually and I feel like that would be something she'd immediately agree to. Maybe they just bumped into each other? Whatever the case, Minato is a chill guy who can work well with anybody and Cassandra is a hothead who loves violence and has experience working with others (part of a biker gang) and does well (as her team up with Akechi during the event helped show). With those things in mind, I feel like the two would work together like a well oiled machine.

MISSION: FAILURE

The pair set off intrepidly to battle the cursed snowmen. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a complete disaster from the get-go. Cassandra manages to melt one immediately with her fire, but that's the only win they get on their side. Minato's wielded shovel gets immediately embedded into the snowman- as one would expect if you'd used it like a sword. The snowman pulls it out and adds it to the snowman arsenal. This, it turns out, means making snowballs a lot easier, and soon they have more ammunition than you can shake a stick arm at. It also means they can shovel snow and create MORE snowmen to join the fight. Soon, the pair are absolutely pelted with snowballs with Gatling gun level speed. All the firepower and strength in the world can't battle against the sheer numbers, and the pair are soon overwhelmed with snow.

For your failure, you lose consciousness and wake up in the body of a snowman. Minus the head, of course. Your shoes are also missing.

Quest Name: Shrek the Halls
Relevant Skills: Both Wrio + Veldora are brawlers who will definitely be down to punch the head off someone for daring to steal presents off kids? Wriothesley will probably choose to try to talk him down first but when it goes nowhere, neither of them will have a problem persuading him with violence.
Anything else?: Wrio's punches freeze. Veldora can use his Analyzation skill to spot weaknesses.

Quest Name: Sock It To 'Em
Relevant Skills: Blade is a craftsman of high skill--he probably makes his own clothes let's be entirely real. While Wrio is a master of no real trade, he grew up in prison so he probably at least knows how to stitch things together. Blade'll show him how to do it better.
Anything else?: noone's gonna be able to steal shit from their table when the two people making sweaters are two scary looking goths who look like they've taken a life before let's be real.

Relevant Skills: We once again back with the -4. But Jinwoo is very very good at being sneaky and has a... bear and knight who could help gather mint too. Lapis just wants some mint for herself/to give some life in Jinwoo's barren space of an apartment, so she's at least knowledgable with plants. Also she can shapeshift so time to pretend to be a bird to avoid a pissed off goddess-

Relevant Skills: Vergil's maintained a garden before, back in Italy, to grow fresh herbs for cooking. He'll know how to remove the mint without killing the plants. Eunie is a regular gardening hobbyist and knows enough about plants to be dangerous as well.
Anything else?: Both are quick on their feet if they need to flee a spring goddess

Relevant Skills: Wolfwood grew up in an orphanage and definitely knows how to sew, he's mom-coded. Vash also has been around a death desert for 150 years without any real friends--he's had to patch up more than his fair share of clothing.
Anything else?: If someone tries to steal their supplies, vash will probably feel bad for them and give some things away without question or pretend not to see...

MISSION: FLAWLESS SUCCESS

With a combination of good old-fashioned detective work and the power of LOUD, Wriothesley and Veldora manage to track down the nasty orc in good time. He's very surprised to find that someone has found his hideout in Kami State Park even though the kitsune yokai have been telling people where it is (for a price, of course, if the pair is willing to pay). When the presents are brought up, the orc gets defensive. Then negotiations go south when someone throws an accusation about bad breath (or perhaps the orc imagines one and goes off the rails). At this point only violence can save the day. The orc grabs his massive club and begins swinging wildly, but he is no match for the power of friendship (i.e. beating the shit out of someone). After a short fight, he clutches his stomach and starts crying, and he begs Wriothesley and Veldora for mercy. He also asks for tips on boosting self-confidence.

For your efforts, you receive $2500 and a cane sword that looks like a candy cane.
