This is the post for any major character updates such as canon updates, possessions, and deaths. All of these options require MOD APPROVAL before going forth ICly. And while not strictly required, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you talk to your close CR about these plans before you fill out these forms.
Canon Updates
The character will either pass out or disappear for a few days, before they wake up with extra memories of their time in their homeworld. If you are updating from a canon that updates daily, weekly or monthly (tv shows, manga, comics, etc) - you can update to any canon point that's been released in English (either officially or a reliable fan translation) for at least 2 weeks. If you are updating from a canon that updates less frequently than monthly (movies, video games, books, etc), then you can update to any canon point that's been released in English for at least one month.
Characters can only be canon updated once every 3 months.
Note: Only OU characters require official canon updates! AU characters have no official canon point, so they can regain memories as they see fit.
Possessions
Characters who have near-death experiences can be saved by being possessed by a supernatural being that'll heal them. They will feel stronger and have a boost to their powers that scales based on what kind of being is possessing them. However, strong emotions will cause things to break around them, and they will have to keep a strong will to retain control. Should they ever fail to stay in control, they will be dragged into the spirit realm where they'll need to be saved before they become a permanent denizen of the realm.
All possessed characters require to have a contract price. This is an action or behavior that a possessed character must fulfill that's an actual impediment to their life. Depending on what the contract price is, it may need to be required to fulfill on a regular basis, whenever they use their abilities, or it's just always going on. Characters who are possessed by a god-level being must have two contract prices.
Any type of character can become possessed. Characters can only be possessed by one being at a time unless you got a canon power that allows otherwise, in which case talk to the mod.
Retired Characters
If you have been playing a character for at least one year, you have an alternative option when it comes to dropping where you Retire them instead. Retired Characters. Unlike dropped characters who lose their regains and access to either apps, Retired characters get the following:

Retiring a character costs 25 points, which these points will be treated as donations to the Community Point Pool. If you need help paying this amount, other players can help finance up to 20 points (while you pay 5). However, like inter-player point transfers, these points should be volunteered. Should we hear of anyone seriously pressuring other players to give them points, the Retired Character privileges will be revoked.
When you retire a character, you will be allowed 48 hours to make any final purchases or transfer any points to other characters. Once that 48 hour period is done, their remaining regain points will drop to 0 as the mods finalize their paperwork and transitions them fully to retired status.
If there is a character that's already been dropped before this system went into place and you wish to upgrade them to Retired status, you may do so! This can be done by paying with points from your current characters, or another player can volunteer to help pay up to 20 points for you (while you pay the initial 5). In addition, since the mod paperwork for their purchased regains no longer exists -- it will be up to you to track down all the purchased regains you wish to keep via the old regain and goodwill posts. The purchases you link upon retiring an old character will be the stuff they are allowed to keep, while everything else will be treated as lost to the void.

Death
So you have chosen death.
Characters who die will have their bodies remain. After 1 IC week, they will wake up in an labyrinth much like an OU arrival. Any regains or powerups a character gained during the course of the game will be gone, but they will still remember their time in the game and you have the option to change any details about your AU or canon update at this time.
