OLD PAGE. GO TO THE CURRENT APP PAGE HERE

Okay so application is a very strong word and not entirely accurate, but it's a term we all know so bear with me. This is the page where you officially submit your character information for the game! Apps will not really be judged on its contents but more making sure everything fits into the setting of the game. If you want more information on the setting, please check out the FAQ!

How do I join the game?
This app page is currently open! Apps can be submitted by players at anytime. Apps are reviewed by the mod on Sundays.

To join the game, the only big thing is you'll require an invite from another player. Players can invite up to 2 people per month. Just be sure to list their name and have the person confirm that they did invite you either by contacting the mods directly or commenting to your app. Apps that do not have a invitation confirmation will not be looked at by the mods. If a confirmation does not come within two Sundays of the app's submission, it'll be automatically rejected.

A new player must be in the game one full month from their app acceptance date before they can invite another player (meaning if their app was approved on September 18th, they can invite people starting October 18th). This is so the new player has a chance to get acclimated to the game and community enough to assist any friends they later invite to the game.

Players who were in the game but who dropped/were swept will not need an invite to rejoin the game for up to one month after their drop date. After that month, they will require an invite to rejoin.

Once you submit your app, you'll get a welcome comment confirming that everything is a-okay. The only times I'll ask for revisions is if there needs to be a fix with power purchases or possessions.

Is there a player cap?
There is a player cap! Kaisou allows a total of 75 players. Should we ever reach cap, apps will close until openings become available.

PLAYER SLOTS: 46/75 filled.

What kind of characters do you allow?
Most things! Canon characters, Original characters, CRAU, AU characters - the list goes on. Double characters are also allowed so long as the doubles are notably different from one another (examples: MCU Peter Parker and Into the Spider-verse Peter Parker would be fine as they are two clearly different interpretations of the character. Alternatively, a canon version of a character and an AU version of the same character would be fine as long as the AU causes a notable difference in the character). Customizable protagonists and characters from canons with different story routes are allowed, and any characters with differing story routes would be considered AUs from one another.

The only requirement for a character is that they do require a consistent canon history. This is because many of the plot events and mechanics deal with memories and connections to their previous life (or current life if an OU). If you wish to app a mascot character that doesn't have a specific canon background (a vocalid, clippy, the trix rabbit, etc) - you are welcome to write an OC that's inspired by the character with a clear established background to work from. Characters who have multiple canon iterations (like Link from Legend of Zelda or Sonic the Hedgehog) will need to pick a single iteration to pull their canon background from. Characters must also have been properly introduced (not just a quick cameo) in their canon for at least one month at the time of apping.

How many characters can I play at a time?
You can play up to four active characters at a time! Only two of these characters are allowed to be Original Universe and there is a player cap of 25 OU players.

OU PLAYER SLOTS: 24/35 filled.

At the start of each month, we will make sure there are at least 2 OU player slots open whether it be through drops, or adding extra slots. But to keep from one cast from dominating the limited OU slots, there is a OU cast cap of 6 characters per cast. There's no cap on AUs from the canon at this time, just OUs!

Casts near Cap:
Final Fantasy XIV - 6/6, OUS CAPPED

How frequently can I submit an app?
There is no time restraint on the first two characters you app. If you join the game with the intent of playing two characters, you can app them both immediately or wait it out! However after you app your second character, you will require to wait one month between each new character app (so if you app your second character on March 2nd, you will need to wait until April 2nd to app a new character).

What type of characters can I play in this setting?
You have three options for characters!
  • Normal Modern AU: These characters have lived normal lives in a modern Earth setting, completely oblivious to anything strange up until their entry into the game. Anything in their backstory should be events that could reasonably happen in the real world. Upon acceptance, Normal AUs will be allowed to pick one free regain (canon regain or an elemental power) worth up to 3 points that will come into effect after they join the game.

  • Paranormal Modern AU: These are characters who have grown up in a modern Earth setting, but throughout their lives have experienced supernatural occurrences. These characters will get 3 extra points when they app to use for powers that the acquired at some point in their lives (if they so choose). Characters are also allowed to be apped as possessed status. Please refer to the FAQ for more information on that!

  • Original Universe Characters: Characters who hail from their original world and find themselves waking up in this world. These characters will not lose any memories, and are allowed to have any items that would reasonably be on their person when they arrive. They are allowed to retain one ability that's been weakened to beginner levels, otherwise they've been completely depowered.

Character Name: Lup
Canon: The Adventure Zone: Balance
Canon Point: Right after being fatally stabbed and sucked up into her umbrella, Pre-TAZ's main storyline
History: Lup’s wiki

Personality: The second half of the Tex-Mex Twins, Lup is Taako's identical twin sister. She's a high elf wizard with a love of cooking, high drama, and blowing shit up. She's gregarious and very social, but can come off pretty rude in her effort to be brutally honest. Due to her shitty upbringing, Lup has some Trust Issues™ and takes time to really warm up to people.

Growing up the way she did, Lup is very distrustful of everyone she meets, always expecting the worst of the world and almost always getting proved right. Years of being passed on by relatives or being forced to bounce between moving caravans for shelter has taught her to rely on no one but herself and her twin. Due to this detachment from society, Lup takes great pleasure in bullying the new people she meets. It’s explained in the first episode of The Stolen Century, that their last night on their home planet, the twins decide to hustle idiots in pool at the local bar, winning effortlessly. Instead of simply taking the loser’s money as expected, they decide to take his shoes. Not because they are some sweet kicks or useful or worth anything, but they do it simply to punish him, so that he has to walk home through the streets in shame.

That attitude begins to change over the course of The Stolen Century, if only because during those one hundred years, the IPRE crew all came together as a family, learning to love and trust one another in a way that none of them had ever truly known before. For Lup, she has always just had Taako at her side and that was it. But quite suddenly, she now has five other people she can rely on, five other people who have stuck by her side for a whole century. She might not find herself being able to trust the rest of the world yet, but her circle is slowly but surely growing.

Despite some of her other more questionable actions, Lup can also be seen to have a very fine-tuned moral compass when it comes to decisions that hold real significance. For example, Lup and her brother have absolutely no qualms with looting the bodies of dead robots for spare parts, but she draws a line at harming any that are still functioning. Even with the whole team in agreement to destroy this robot civilization to keep their enemy from growing stronger, Lup stands up fiercely against her dearest friends and family, passionately convincing them all to stand down. Even though her morals can often seem a bit shaky, Lup takes no delight in hurting the innocent, which is made all the worse after watching the horrific destruction her Grand Relic created in Faerun.

Along with that, Lup is often rude, abrasive, loud, overly confident, and reckless. She curses freely and says exactly what she’s thinking, no matter how insensitive it might come off as. When it comes to confrontations, Lup will always be 100% on the side of fight over flight. But, on the opposite end, she’s also courageous, loyal, and selfless to a fault. She would do anything to protect the family that she’s made along the way, even technically giving up her mortal life for the chance to get a one-up on the Hunger by becoming a Lich.

For all of her detachment and faults, Lup is friendly and gregarious, an extrovert in the extreme. She’ll absolutely socialize with anyone and everyone, though she'll quietly be much more picky about the actual people she’ll let in close. She loves pranks and jokes of any kind (especially if she’s the one initiating them), but can also take a good goof from someone else like a champ. When it comes to emotions, Lup is a woman of extremes, feeling the whole spectrum of them intensely. It makes her happiness that much brighter to behold and her wrath that much more terrifying. She's still not as well equipped to deal with serious moments as others with more stable upbringings, oftentimes resorting to jokes to ease the discomfort she feels.

Other Characters: Idia Shroud

Character Name: Rutile Flores
Canon: Mahoutsukai no Yakusoku
Canon History: •Rutile is the first son of the Great Witch Tiletta - who, as you can tell from her title, was pretty great. She was an incredibly powerful - and infamous - witch who settled down with a human after a chance meeting, and the loving couple would have another son five years after Rutile’s birth.
•They would have been an incredibly loving family, too, if not for the fact that Tiletta was well aware she would die giving birth to her second son, Mitile, and if anyone tried to save her Mitile would die instead. She decided that Mitile’s survival was more important than hers, making her long-time friend and fellow wizard Mithra promise to protect and care for her children, and telling everyone else to do whatever it took to make sure Mitile actually did survive.
•Which he did! Because Rutile ended up giving half of his magical ability to his brother, which will surely not ever become plot relevant or anything.
•Mr. Flores, who never got a name, died not terribly long after Tiletta, leaving the two boys to the care of their small village. They were largely raised under the guidance of two other local wizards - Lennox Ram, a shepherd, and Figaro “Garcia”, a “doctor”.
•This is unfortunate, because Figaro is not what most people would generally consider a good person. Sure, he’s got very powerful healing magic, and he’s incredibly knowledgeable and powerful over all, and he might have helped partially conquer the world and stage a violent revolution but it’s not like he’s been purposely hampering the brothers’ efforts to learn magic because of a prophecy saying Mitile would be responsible for the deaths of Rutile, Lennox, and Figaro or anything…
•Except that’s exactly what he’s been doing these past fifteen years.
•At the age of 18, Rutile followed in his father’s footsteps and became a teacher.
•At age 20, Rutile was chosen by the Sage - you see, in his world there is a yearly almost-apocalypse that 20 20.5 21 wizards are responsible for stopping because their moon is an malevolent, powerful entity known as the Great Calamity. Part of fighting the Calamity requires having a Sage - some poor bastard isekai’d into their world - that will help the wizards achieve their goals.
•Being summoned is very bittersweet - on the one hand, it’s because the representatives for the Southern Country have all died. The only reason a new wizard will be summoned is to replace someone who died, and as Rutile was chosen alongside all the other wizards he knew…
•But it also meant he gets to see Mithra again! And he’s excited for that! He barely remembers the wizard and it’s been fifteen years since he’s seen him, but it’ll be great. It’s not like Mithra will have forgotten about Rutile and the promise he made to Tiletta or anything…
•It’s also not like the reason the Calamity was so much worse this past year was because of magical interference caused by someone who’s taken on Mithra’s appearance or anything and it’s not like the Central Country military is messing with a fusion of magic and technology that they shouldn’t be and the Knight’s captain gets turned into a horrible bird monster, either.
•Life as a Sage’s wizard is, clearly, chaotic from the start. There’s so much to learn about the man behind the strengthened Calamity, not to mention all of the fallout from the Calamity itself. Monsters coming back to life, bitter and vengeful ghosts, failed resurrections, inter-wizard drama that almost results (and does result) in murder…
•But, hey, Mithra does end up remembering the brothers and his promise! So that’s something good! Even if it does mean that he’s a bit overprotective and unhinged. It’s fine.

Canon Personality: •Friendly! Rutile is incredibly friendly and welcoming to everyone he meets - until he has a reason not to be. He’s not the kind of person to take insults or injustices lying down, even if the person he’s confronting has the power to wipe him off the face of the earth. Or arrest him.
•Nurturing. Rutile believes everyone should be treated kindly and softly, and he would rather help than hurt. He’s not just a teacher to follow in his father’s footsteps - he wants to guide people into becoming the best people they can be. He wants to make people happy and feel loved and supportive, and most people would say he’s a very gentle and caring soul. This is not untrue. However,
•Short-temper. Rutile has a temper that burns hot and fast. He tends to get incredibly annoyed and angry quickly, but it doesn’t tend to linger for very long and he rarely lashes out because of it. At most - and depending on who’s pissed him off - he’ll smack them in the arm with his sketchbook and storm off, but give him a few minutes to cool off and he’ll apologize for his reaction and try to have a conversation to prevent that from happening again. Considering the people he deals with, it’s kind of a fruitless endeavor. More often than not, though, when people are frustrating Rutile by being mean, he takes the approach of “if you’re nice to someone being an asshole, they’re too confused to keep being mean”.
•Energetic, which is good when your job deals with children. Rutile has near boundless energy and enthusiasm and fully believes you should embrace life to the fullest. He can find the beauty and positives in just about anything, and it gives him the fuel he needs to face the world he lives in that is equal parts wonderful and cruel. There are still those beautiful parts, though, and he would rather embrace those things than let himself get hung up on the misery of the world.
•Also he sometimes worries about living up to the memories and legacies of his mother, but it’s fine.

AU History: •Born and raised in Kaisou - while his senses have always been relatively weak, he was told about magic and the paranormal by his mother. She promised to teach him when he was older, but after her and his father died in a car accident and Rutile ended up in an orphanage and, eventually, foster care, magical studies were put on hold..
•He largely decided to focus on other things in life - school and work, for the most part. He would occasionally try to dabble in magic, but he hasn’t managed much just yet.
•He’s currently a senior attending Kaisou University, majoring in early childhood education while working (full-time, unfortunately,) at a flower shop in Brick Alley. His college experimentation has mostly been spent trying to figure out magic without much in the way of teachers, which… is probably not the worst thing he could be doing with his life.

AU Personality Differences: He holds onto grudges for way longer and is like 2% less extroverted, but asides from that? Not much else.

Element: Wind
Purchased Powers: •Low level healing
•Make objects pen-sized or smaller float.
•Don’t need hairspray anymore. Hell yeah.

Character Name: Killia (AU Name: Killia Almus)
Canon: Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance
Canon History: Here
Canon Personality:

* Generally aloof
* Slow to trust, reluctant to accept others as allies
* Often reckless in his pursuit of revenge
* Otherwise calm and cool
* Unusually humble for a demon
* Diligent
* Brave and dauntless
* Unwilling to turn his back on the weak when they are threatened
* Earnest and sincere in things not involving his past
* Generally sensible, unfailingly the straight-man in the comedy routine
* Very kind, once someone manages to get close to him. Eventually can come to accept allies and friends as a good thing.

Personality Prior To His Development:

* Cold and ruthless
* Arrogant
* Brutal and violent
* Self-serving and selfish
* Endlessly Ambitious in the pursuit of strength and power
* Believes he needs no one.

AU History:

Born in a foreign country and abandoned as a child, Killia had very little hope to live life. Stuck on the streets and homeless, Killia was left with very few options in way of surviving the world. In a land of cold winters and little in the way of public or private support, Killia saw the world as an unpleasant, ugly place. Surviving primarily on what he could steal or take from others by force, he grew up as a hardened, uncaring young man. His disillusionment and tough lot in life led him to be fiercely independent and mistrusting of others... while also being thuggish, ambitious, and selfish. Though murdering people was not something he did, he certainly committed his share of robberies, muggings, and beatings to get what he wanted... and to show fellow criminals he wasn't to be trifled with. This was thanks in part to having an uncanny gift for fighting and self-taught martial arts, not only able to read his foes moves but flow seamlessly between strikes with brutal precision. He quickly climbed the ranks of the local underworld, despite a young age.

This continued until about the age of 19, when something unforeseen happened. Being at the wrong place at the wrong time, or perhaps, the right place at the right time, Killia got swept up in a supernatural affair... one that he did not recognize as such. Unable to see or understand the supernatural, Killia got offered a quick job to help one of the parties involved. Something quick and easy to do, suspiciously so. But he took it on with some reluctance because the money talked. Inadvertently, he subdued a supernatural rogue during this stint, which earned him respect and another reward: a chance to move elsewhere. He thought about turning it down, but years of a hard life in his home had painted a target on his back, and he was very tired of looking over his shoulder. Though he was tough enough to continue in this if he had to, something convinced him to take a shot at this... and maybe find a different way to live.

Next thing he knew, he was on a flight to the United States, and the city of Kaisou. Essentially given a shot at a new life, he quickly adjusted, taking the last name "Almus," as he had none before. Using the payoff from the previous job, he put a down payment on a small apartment. Next was finding a job, and a help wanted sign on a nearby family restaurant, The Paradise Taste, was a ticket to that. The family was friendly, understanding, and looked past his grim and hard exterior, and hired him on as a general staff member... essentially the "do whatever we need you to do" role at first. One of those roles included cooking, which he quickly learned, and quickly excelled at.

In fact, in a short time, Killia figured out how to improve several family recipes with a little experimentation and research, leading to an increase in business. Now doing better than ever, Killia is a fixture in the kitchen and sitting area in the Paradise Taste, and is all but a new son to the family running it... though he himself does not share in the sentiment. Openly, at least.

Truth be told, while he has no reason to distrust the family at this point, he does not believe he is worthy of such a position given his past transgressions. Nor does he feel particularly worthy of the warmth and kindness the family shows him, despite his chilly and distant nature. Still, he does his job there, working hard and picking up extra work as needed with minimal fuss. While not the greatest waiter in the world in that he has difficulty wearing a smile, his work is diligent, quick, accurate, and reliable.

For once, Killia finally feels like his life is stable, after about six months or so in Kaisou. Sometimes still hard, but... gratifying enough, in its mundanity.

...That won't last long.

AU Personality Differences:

Generally minimal. The extremes of his past life's personality are *less* severe, owing to the setting difference. Not being a Netherworld filled with incredibly powerful demons did not require the sheer amount of bloodthirsty violence that canon would've required. Moreover, Liezerote, Goldion, and Void not being part of his life has left his personality change less tied to that family. That comes from both the humbling experience he had, and just... being tired of how that life was going.

Essentially as such, a lot of his past is toned down to be reasonable for a modern, mundane setting. In addition, his change isn't immediately owed to any one person, and his opening arc leaves him with no reason for seeking revenge like he does in canon. Instead, Killia is more interested in building a life for himself which sucks less, and making an active effort to be a better person this time.

Other Characters: Lita Elnaeus

Character Name: The Witch (no official name exists in canon; for the AU let's go with Katida Rhydderch)
Canon: Dragon Marked For Death (DMFD official site, TVTropes page, infopost on character journal)
Canon History:
• The player character in DMFD is a member of the Dragonblood Clan, which worships the Astral Dragon Atruum, who had been on the losing side of a war between the Celestials and the Astral Dragons at some point in the distant past. Due to their association with Atruum, the Dragonblood Clan as a whole is looked down upon by most people and the Clan's members are usually treated as less than human.
• Each of the game's initial four PCs have vaguely-defined personal backgrounds that simply explain who they are. In the Witch's case, she lived and studied magic in the Magic Kingdom of Litus prior to its fall (which is implied to be long before the events of the game itself, so, she's likely way older than she looks), but after the family member she had been living with passed, she chose to return to the Dragonblood Clan's village, only to find that...
• The village was razed by the knights of Medius, and the Clan's oracle—the one with the strongest connection to Atruum—taken captive. As one of the few remaining members of the Clan after this event, the PC swears revenge against the kingdom, and Atruum grants them the power necessary to make this possible. Shortly after setting out on their quest, they learn that in order to gain an audience with the king, they need to build their reputation, so they become an Adventurer™ and start taking various odd jobs from people in order to do exactly that. Though they don't realize it until it's explicitly pointed out to them during the game's best ending, it eventually turns out that the specific reputation they've built is that of a total badass who will take on pretty much any job no matter how trivial or dangerous it is.
• The PC eventually is invited to the castle to meet the king because he supposedly wishes to meet the Adventurer that everyone is talking about, and they accept this invitation with the intent to kill him. it turns out to be a trap and an attempt to kill them, and when they manage to fight their way out and confront the king, they never do get the opportunity they were waiting for; the king instead dies as the result of performing a ritual that was intended to grant him immortality, but unfortunately for him, his body could not handle it and also the Celestial that he and most people revered as a god was pretty mad about it. It is around this time that they also learn the fate of their oracle.
• The PC later discovers that Atruum, who had previously claimed to have reflected upon his past and given up things such as war, is far less benevolent than they previously thought; his claims had been lies, and he had been waiting all along for the perfect opportunity to use the Clan to regain his power and continue his fight with the Celestials, and with the strength and power that the PC has accumulated, that opportunity has finally arisen. The PC then fights and defeats him to prevent him from consuming them to take the power they had gained, with subsequent events depending on how they defeated him.
• Most of the possible outcomes of the battle with Atruum aren't great: depending on what you do, the game's three Bad Ends involve the PC either getting locked into an endless war with the Knights of Medius as a direct result of the king's death (the knights assuming that the PC did it, because why wouldn't they make that assumption about a Dragonblood), or taking the rest of Atruum's power for themselves and abandoning their humanity in the process in order to ensure he's no longer a threat to the world, or just straight up getting bodyjacked by Atruum after he was seemingly defeated because they made the stupid mistake of trying to use too much of his own power against him. The best ending is an explicit aversion of two of these, where the PC begins taking Atruum's power and almost loses their humanity in the process, and then after this is narrowly averted they escape from the knights (with help from several of the people they had helped before) instead of fighting back against them, and eventually set off to start a new life elsewhere and continue doing Adventurer things.

Canon Personality: (NOTE: this is a copy/paste from when I apped her to Daybreak Academy; while that was an AU game, the only thing that had really changed for her there was what, specifically, Atruum was.)
• When she's acting with a specific goal in mind, she is quite persistent and will keep pushing on despite any resistance unless it becomes completely obvious that she isn't going to be getting anywhere. It's also rather hard to convince her to abandon any particular course of action unless you can make a really good case for her to do so, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation.
• Though some situations will be difficult for her regardless because she has the physical strength of a wet noodle, she is able to adapt to most situations and will do so given any real opportunity to both assess the situation and adjust her approach accordingly. Granted, most of these adjustments thus far have tended to amount to using different magic that hasn't proven to be ineffective, but...
• Despite everything (both the Bad Treatment and the Bad Decisions), she is still ultimately not a terrible person; though her personal goal of revenge against the king of Medius isn't exactly good (it should be noted, however, that the king is not a good person himself), she was intending to do it entirely for the family/friends/etc. that have been lost because of him, and she was willing to help other people out with their own things along the way despite not expecting very much in return. She won't go out of her way to cause problems for other people unless she believes she has reason to—if you leave her alone, she'll leave you alone.
• She is very, very slow to trust due to having a history of being treated very poorly by anyone that is not already close to her; the Clan's reputation was not great, given their association with Atruum. Expecting such treatment to continue and considering it to be normal, she will expect the worst of people, and tends toward being suspicious of anyone that openly acts nice toward her unless they can outright prove their intent or it goes on long enough that she starts to actually accept that that's just the way they are.
• Whether she acts on them or not, she tends not to let go of most offenses. Minor things like simply being insulted may go ignored because she's far more than used to that, but any seriously poor treatment (threatening/harming her, etc.) will be remembered and she will be on guard with the person or people responsible if she's put in a position where she has to deal with them again.
• She barely has a sense of humor, if she even has one at all; expect her to Not Get It. For anything that she does actually Get, she'll tend not to really show it as she actively tries not to be too expressive, but usually this works a little too well and she ends up coming off as completely unamused, which can potentially lead to some misunderstandings.

AU History:
• Katida was born and raised in Kaisou. Her parents were originally from Wales but moved to Kaisou themselves at some point in the years before she was born. Life's been completely normal thus far.
• Her elementary school years were a bit rough on her; most of her classmates back then found her name kind of funny and she got teased for it a lot. It bothered her enough that she doesn't really like dealing with most of them much even now, and she also had developed a preference for having her first name shortened to "Kat" instead of it being used in its entirety. She'll accept "Kit" as a nickname too, but only from people she feels comfortable enough with.
• Her mom's part of a pretty big family that does equally-big reunions every so often. Sometimes this means relatives coming to visit from overseas, and other times it means traveling abroad to visit them; it kind of depends on who wants to host the thing.
• Katida met her cousin Robin during one such reunion and they hit it off pretty well. They've been friends and kept in touch ever since, and then sometime before the start of the current school year, Robin moved in with Katida's family after Katida's parents extended an invitation for her to do so; Robin sees being in Kaisou as an opportunity to learn more than she could if she was still back home, and Kat's parents decided to help give her that chance.
• Katida is currently a high school junior. She does well in her classes but not perfectly, and is not presently involved in any extracurricular activities.

AU Personality Differences:
• She is way less-stubborn, and also generally averse to conflict; she's unlikely to continue pushing things after encountering significant resistance unless it involves something she feels super strongly about.
• Because her life is much better compared to what it is in canon, she doesn't have that whole revenge thing going on.
• She was teased a lot as a kid and still expects to be picked on to some degree even now (either over her name, or over her interests; she's pretty into fantasy stuff) but she hasn't been treated anywhere near as badly as in canon. She's still generally wary around people because of this and doesn't really like dealing with them directly and will still get pretty mad if given any problems, but she also has an easier time with trusting people as long as they don't give her problems.
• She actually has a sense of humor (unless it involves her name) but still tries not to react too strongly to things she finds funny.

Character Name: Mewtwo
Canon: Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened
Canon Point: In the middle of the fight between her and Genesect
History: Here

Personality: Mewtwo possesses a serious attitude, speaking in an authoritative way. The way she talks to others is very direct, to the point where people could mistake her for bossing them around when she's legitimately trying to help. For example, when she finds the newly revived Pokemon, Genesect, wandering in the mountains, she demands instead of asks that they come with her. The leader of the Genesect tells her to not give them orders, and retaliates by attacking her. Mewtwo does take matters into her own hands, determined to help the Genesect her way instead of slowing down to find a better solution. Despite her serious personality, she isn't completely incapable of having fun. She's seen racing with other bird Pokemon, and seems interested in testing the limits of her Mega Y form, which she transforms into and attempts to push past the boundaries of Earth's atmosphere.

Although Mewtwo wants to learn about her own power, the source of her power is tied to her strong dislike of humans. She was created by scientists and subjected to horrific and painful experiments to test the limits of her abilities. When she finally escaped the lab, Mewtwo realized she had no "home" to go to, and no place where she belonged. The only world she knew was the lab where she was tortured. She's painfully aware that she doesn't belong in this world. After escaping, she saw everyone, especially humans, as a threat. Considering how scientists hired a Pokemon hunter to recapture her, she's not exactly wrong in that assumption.

Despite Mewtwo's cold and distrusting attitude towards humans, she doesn't actually hate them or wish any harm on them. She saves Anna, her grandfather, and their Stoutland from falling to their deaths during a hiking trip in the mountains. When the Genesect's leader battles her and launches an attack into an apartment building full of people and Pokemon, she gets angry and tells the Genesect to stop. And despite saying that she only wanted to help the Pokemon, she still saves Ash and his friends from a Genesect attack when she could've only saved their Pokemon.

Mewtwo does feel guilt, as well as a reluctance to get close to both humans and Pokemon, due to the trouble that follows her. She knows her place as a powerful weapon created by humans, and how those humans will go to any lengths to find her. When a battle with a Pokemon hunter causes a forest fire that ends up trapping a Pokemon rescue team that tried to help her, she blames herself because they tried to save her. She ends up putting out the fire using telekinesis to move water from a nearby lake. The rescue team tries to thank her, but she coldly tells them to forget they saw her, in an attempt to distance herself from humans and Pokemon alike.

Of course this plan to distance herself from others fails when she tries to take shelter in a cave from a storm. Mewtwo collapses from the injuries she sustained from her previous battle with the Pokemon hunter. A group of Pokemon care for her through the night, that being the first time she's experienced any kind of genuine compassion from someone else. From that point, she starts to form a bond with the Pokemon that saved her, and live among them peacefully. She has a strong desire to protect any Pokemon she sees from harm, such as when she hears the Genesect in trouble and rushes to their aid. Similarly, she steps in and forms a protective barrier around the Pokemon from Pokemon Hills when the Genesect attack them and try taking over their home.

All the trauma and sense of not belonging is why she ends up heavily sympathizing with the Genesect, after learning that they were searching for their home after being resurrected from fossils and physically altered in a lab. While they refuse to listen to her, Mewtwo is determined to find a place for the Genesect to belong, knowing full well how painful it is to live in an unfamiliar world. Their aggressive, hateful attitude, and their desperate searching for a home are all things she sees in herself when she first escaped the scientists who created her. She wants the same thing for them that she finally managed to find for herself. It ends up being Ash's dedication to stopping the Genesect army and herself from fighting, as well as wanting to find the Genesect a new home, that finally gets Mewtwo to open herself up to a friendship with other humans. As well as the Genesect.

Character Name: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III
Canon: How to Train Your Dragon
Canon History: here

Canon Personality: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III was given a heavy name to live up to, but for most of his childhood he never stood out. He was scrawny for a Viking. He was too kind-hearted and his father worried about it. As his son was more prone to fighting imaginary goblins in the woods and worrying over fledglings with broken wings than what other children his age cared about. He was never strong enough or fast enough, but he was always smart and innovative. Things that the normal folk of the Hooligan tribe of Berk were not. For a long time Stoick the Vast believed his son would not have what it took to do what all must do in this world: Kill a dragon.

And boy would he be right.

Hiccup is a Viking but he's about the most untraditional Viking you could meet. In a world where you're revered for the toughest dragon you take down Hiccup all but fails to take down even one. Because he does take down the toughest and scariest one, a Night Fury, with his innovative genius and actually harms the dragon enough he would never fly unassisted again. Except when he finds him he's not able to kill him and so Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III fails in the glorious name that was given to him but makes it his own.

While other kids were learning how to kill dragons, Hiccup began spending his days studying the Night Fury now dubbed Toothless. He becomes a near expert on the various weaknesses of the dragon and it works on all the other dragons. Because of his keen investigative skills and his earnest attention to his new friend, Hiccup ends up besting all the others in defeating dragons-- Not by killing them, but by learning their weaknesses. By stopping them before they can attack and this is big and new. No one in the history of their tribe had managed to do such a thing. He becomes known as Master of Dragons as he gets older from his wide and varied knowledge of them, something that only increased as time and the discovery of new dragons went on.

A creative child by nature, Hiccup showed this quality in many ways. The only reason he was able to fell the Nightfury was through an invention he made specifically from studying its movements. After he found and befriended the fallen dragon Hiccup spends literal weeks designing him a working tail-fin, working out how to maneuver it, and creating an adaptable harness. Shortly after the first movie in "Gift of the Night Fury," Hiccup actually makes a working tail-fin for Toothless to fly solo that the dragon used to find the other dragons but refused to use after (he would eventually make a slightly more steam-lined version of this in Hidden World, a device that Toothless uses for ten years without any seeming trouble). Not to mention Hiccup ends up making his own version of a peg leg.

Hiccup isn't much in the way of hand-to-hand fighting, but he is adaptable, resourceful, and strategic. He's also just a case of reckless and stubborn. Despite only having one leg, Hiccup can be quick and deliberate on his feet. He's also made his own dragon armor (fire proof armor made of dragon scales) and had a sword that with a click of a button uses different things from various dragons to catch fire. With this weapon, he is a formidable opponent and he uses his slight build, intellect, and inventions to best enemies on more than one occasion.

On the vein of stubborn and reckless-- Despite any falsehoods, his size and demeanor may give you Hiccup is a Viking. He prefers to be able to evaluate and plan a situation, but that also gets him in a wee bit of trouble. His plans can be full proof, practiced, and well-researched. They should, in all respects, work. But oftentimes he overthinks them and worries or they actually do go south. It's actually his stubborn and most reckless moments that end up being pulled off more flawlessly. He panics when given the time to plan, but with only moments to spare he's still a brilliant tactician who relies on his team at hand.

AU History:
Outside of the obvious "Viking a thousand years into the future":

- Born on the Faroe Islands to the Kullersen (son of Haddock) family. His father was a high-ranking military official while his mother... Well, he doesn't know about her. There was an accident when he was a baby and his father doesn't talk about it.
- Had a sense of what animals were saying since he was very young and is very empathetic to them. When a dog bit him when he was six he refused to let them take it away, the scar remains.
- Given the Faroe Islands aren't the Biggest in the world there are whispers about it — namely to do with some otherworldly creatures no one has ever seen before.
- Hiccup wouldn't believe it either until he was fifteen or so and one day when he's hearing the voices in his head his father told him to ignore he climbs some of the mountains and came face-to-face with a creature out of old myths (a giant wolf, unprepared, he loses a leg and is lucky to make it through the ordeal).
- Spent his first year of getting adjusted to a prosthetic trying to climb said mountains again because he was stubborn and wanted to find out what it was properly as he didn't see it. If you asked him, he thinks it didn't mean to hurt him and he wants to find out why he thinks that.
- A gifted student especially in engineering and technology, he took a scholarship to a school in Kaisou a year ago.
- Since arriving in Kaisou the whole hearing voices thing has only gotten worse and he's began to figure out it's not all in his head.

AU Personality Differences:
At his core, Hiccup hasn't changed. He's still a person who's creative and hard on himsef — though in less extreme ways as seen in canon. While his father and his relationship was distant and his father pressured him a fair bit, it wasn't the weight of an entire village on his shoulders. He was prone to screwing up a bit as a teenager, and still is, but it's not to the extremities as his past life was. For the most, this has allowed him to grow with a little more self-confidence that bleeds into how he's a little more reckless as well. Mostly, lacking the darker moments in his life, he's more like a regular teenager than a soon-to-be-chief who spent the past year and a half running a dragon rescue and training operation. His skills in leadership have yet to be tested.

Element: Wind
Purchased Powers:
1 point: Ability to understand animals — Slightly more than the baseline human level, Hiccup gets impressions of what animals mean more so than others. He'd probably say it's not words so much as feelings they can convey. He doesn't always get it right and they don't listen to him very well.
2 points: Hearing/Seeing on the wind — When there's a wind blowing, sometimes pictures and voices are brought with it as well. While the distance can be up to several miles, it's not something he has full control of. He can't hear things where a breeze isn't coming from (so no locked houses) and he can't control what's carried. While he's learned to use it some over the past few years, it's still something that's not easily controlled and leaves him with more headaches than not (a lack of control is also built in to only use it on player information with permission, etc).

Character Name: Jolyne Cujoh
Canon: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure OU
Canon Point: End of series
History: A Bizarre Wikia Adventure

Personality: Jolyne is a special sort of girl, even as far as the Joestar family lineage goes. Being a mix of both her great grandfather and her father respectively, she tends to go above and beyond both personality types. Given her upbringing and complications in her own personal life it took her quite a bit to grow into the person she becomes while incarcerated. Though, if you look at our first introduction to our character you can see that she's probably a lot like Joseph (great-grandfather) than she ever imagined, admitting to masturbating for a lack of anything to do when waking up too early and only getting embarrassed that a guard caught her doing it.

Feeling frustrated by the fact that she felt as if Jotaro (her father) abandoned their family for more worthwhile ventures, it didn't take much for Jolyne to develop a dependency for approval and affection where she could get it after attempts at catching her father's attention through multiple minor crimes. Of course her bitterness towards Jotaro didn't help much, causing the mere mention of him making her lose her temper and go all out. Although being abandoned by her friends got her to turn her life around, leaving the biker gang lifestyle and working towards getting into college.

Although with this one-eighty in her life she still manages to get mixed up in a world of trouble while dating the "seemingly" good guy. Just being rich and preppy means nothing, amirite? Being forced to cover up said boyfriend's accident just for that sweet sweet approval and affection her loyalty is repaid with betrayal from both her boyfriend and lawyer landing her a fifteen year sentence in a maximum security prison. Though even with all of that, she was still loyal enough to not out her former lover and save herself even after deciding they were over and done with for good. Throughout all of this, even if she kept up her delinquent persona for the sake of it, she does feel bad about causing her mother so much grief and can't stand the idea of her at home crying over the entire situation, she wants desperately to see and talk to her mom to put her at ease but never gets the chance.

Going to prison opened up a whole new world, from acquiring a stand ability (thanks dad), to having to toughen up to adjust to a new harsher lifestyle on the inside she kept her usual and tuned up her confrontational attitude and rudeness up to eleven. Jolyne is not one to simply sit back and take anyone outwardly messing with her and will aggressively assert herself in any way possible if the situation calls for it, from minor infractions to a full on confrontation by an enemy she is ready to use her words and anything else necessary. When fighting against someone she won't hold back when it comes to surly taunts and death threats coupled with being as violent as possible. She tends to show a very vindictive nature and will not let go of a grudge even if she's seemingly moved past a situation. Although these traits are often seen as negative she can apply them in positive light.

Ultimately what one of Jolyne's strongest traits that drives all others is her determination. Because with all the negative she has a lot of good in her that shines through when it comes to her fierce determination to do the right thing. After her father's ability and memories are stolen she embraces her true lineage, seemingly maturing to rise to the occasion to protect what's most important to her. Despite their rocky relationship, it was Jotaro's confession that he had always cared for her that made Jolyne realize how much she cared for her family ultimately. Although this sort of determination and loyalty also falls in line with people she considers comrades and/or friends, doing anything she can with little regard to her own well-being and at often times putting herself in danger because of it. It becomes clear that she has honourable morals that she always lives up to, whether it be for family, friends or even just witnessing someone being needlessly victimized.

Aside from her combat ready lifestyle, Jolyne comes off as any other normal teenage girl. She greatly enjoys hanging out with the girls and doing anything she can to keep occupied, even once going as far as to give herself a navel piercing while in solitary confinement. A fun-loving sort of person, she likes to crack jokes and have fun where she can through something as easy as tossing a ball around to just goofing around. Given her playful nature, she tends to voice a lot of things that come off as weird, but it's simply her curiosity that drives it even further until she's satisfied with an answer or response. She displays a very extroverted personality and has no problem asking questions about anything and everything if it means learning more about someone or her new surroundings.

As mentioned previously, she does come off as rather libertine seeing as how she openly admits to masturbating and at another point commenting about a certain amount of jealousy over a snail's ability to copulate with anything. There is another point where she admits to having to pee during a very inopportune moment in the middle of being in a zero-gravity combat situation. Although in both instances she does become flustered and embarrassed that she was caught by a guard committing the act and also that she had to admit to needing to pee to a man.

Character Name: Diego Brando
Canon: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Canon Point: Post series.
History: wikia

And I’m sorry, IDK how to do brevity in apps. Forgive me.

Personality: The base of Diego's personality can be described with one word: ambitious. Going beyond that he's a much more complicated individual, especially when you factor in the tragic past that shaped him into the man he became.

When he was a child he had a good attitude about things, despite the poor conditions that he was raised in. Happy, resourceful, adoring of his mother; he was definitely a very good kid without the same driving ambition we see as an adult. After she spoke out against abuse that she was suffering, she and Diego were both punished as a result; this was the beginning of the slippery slope that would eventually push him completely over the edge. His mother sacrificed her well-being to keep her son's dignity intact and eventually she fell ill, it was at this point that he began to resent those around him and their position in life. His mother's death wasn't just difficult for him to accept, it was something deeper than that: a personal slight against him. Those feelings of resentment that had formed within him had turned into something different, something far more dangerous and vengeful.

He didn't just dislike the people he'd grown up around, he hated them for allowing the treatment they had endured to continue. He vowed to seek revenge against those that had destroyed what little family he had, though that revenge didn't extend to the other workers at the farm but to the owner and even his own father (who tried to throw him in a river and abandoned them both when his mother fished him back out). His idea of revenge, however, was a little different than just going completely slasher on people; it was more about gaining prestige and climbing all the way to the top of the societal ranks.

This idea of revenge against his father and the people who had wronged him in the past his what fuels him; Diego is a driven young man that will stop at nothing to achieve what he's after. He can be cordial to others, but usually only when he's looking to get something in return or he's trying to get leverage on the other person. He is a user and a manipulator, much like his counterpart from another universe. If it will get him what he wants, he will absolutely do it, right down to marrying an old woman for her money.

The only thing that he actually seems to care about aside from fortune and glory is his horse, Silver Bullet, Diego even going as far as to call it his beloved. He's always been good with horses throughout his life, he had a way with them and from there he aspired to become a world-famous jockey (I did say he would do anything, but a jockey, really...). Despite the fact that he was already well-known, he participated in the Steel Ball Run to earn even more accolades and prestige, he saw it as just another step to his plan for some kind of domination over society. The addition of the search for the Saint's Corpse also proved to be a stepping stone for him, trying to collect pieces at first for his own benefit and then as time went on to sell them to the highest bidder; all he asked in return was...uh...all of Manhattan Island? That wasn't too much to ask for, was it?

As a result anyone that gets in his way will incur his wrath, causing him to lash out and let his true, vindictive nature show. If things don't go his way his temper can really flare, leading to verbal attacks, physical attacks, turning people into fossils (???), using his own fans as human shields? He'll lash out in whatever way is convenient for him, using situations to his advantage to move forward. He doesn't seem to be intentionally out to kill people, he doesn't possess a bloodlust, but if they die then they die and it's of little consequence to him. S H R U G. This is a lesson learned by those that have had to work with him, whether by choice or by assignment as part of a deal. He would much rather be in control of a situation and on some level in control of those that he has a need to work with, at one point explicitly stipulating that he wants a subordinate to help him secure more of the corpse parts.

Going hand in hand with his general resentment of people, he could easily be described as completely misanthropic. He considers humanity to be garbage (or more explicitly 'flock of pigeons') and tries to keep a reasonable distance from himself and other people. He would rather not be friends with anyone or to even work along with others but if it's necessary he can be rather cooperative and even a decent ally. As stated previously, though, just make sure that you watch your back because he will take the opportunity to get the upper hand if it's presented to him. He would, however, prefer to work alone.

While his general demeanor seems to be sour, if he's in the right place or feels like things are going his way he becomes rather smug. And if things are looking bleak and he can't work a way out of them right away he does have the potential to be frightened. He is a person in there, after all, just one that is constantly thinking about how to get what he wants. He's intelligent, able to calculate things and come up with precise plans at almost a moments notice; though sometimes it happens through trial and error. He is able to work out how things work, even things as abstract as stands and finds a way to adapt to the circumstances he's given; whether it's adjusting his fighting style or backing off to preserve his own life for another day.

He's a human. That hates humans.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Immediate
Items: A riding crop and a false sense of victory.
Retained Ability: Since he’s a Jojo he does have a stand ability but it’s not quite as straight forward most of the others. Part of his ability lets him turn other living creatures into dinosaurs, so powered down I would be happy to limit that to very small creatures like mice. Please let me know if that’s not okay and I’ll be happy to come up with something else!

Rohan vowed to see the person who killed her behind bars. When he entered High School, he decided to move to Tokyo and study there, where he debuted as a manga artist at the age of 16. In Tokyo he found many inspiring ideas and locations, which made his manga series easier to relate to. He skyrocketed to fame, and, after finishing school, decided to move back to Morio.

The city was a hut for supernatural happenings, and Rohan loved it. Besides that, he used part of his money to pay investigators to find who the murderer of his best friend was. Character Name: Ken Amada
Canon: https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/Persona_4_Arena_Ultimax
Canon History: https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/Ken_Amada

Personality: Hardworking, mature, and studious.

Those are the words that would describe Ken Amada. Ever since he lost his mother at a young age, he was someone who forced himself to grow up. Despite life’s circumstances, Ken manages to be resilient and turn out to become a better version of himself.

One of the first things that stands out about Ken is how mature he is. Throughout Persona 3, people have commented how he doesn’t act like his age. Between going to the shrine often, training, and being polite, he never allows himself a day off. This was proven as Junpei mentioned if he was secretly an old man. While it wasn’t stated in canon, there is this message that he is someone who is so mature and hard working, he frequently is the envy of many students. In Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight, he stated that he gets lots of love letters from girls because of how studious he is. With this, he comes across as someone who acts really cool for his age. Additionally, he frequently uses Japanese honorifics to everyone around him as a way to prove how mature and polite he is.

However the most prominent example of his maturity is during the events of the Answer. When everyone was fighting over if they should bring the male main character back to life, Ken said that they shouldn’t. He stated that it was the male main character’s choice to give up his life in order to save them. He wouldn’t dare go against his wish as it would be disrespectful to him. This shows how mature he is for someone his age.

However, with this sense of maturity, he doesn’t have the most favorable outlook on life. Once again, he is someone who lost his mother at a young age and nobody believed the real reason for her death. Due to this, he has this sense that adults (and people in general) only want to believe what they want to believe regardless if it’s a lie. He doesn’t trust people in general as he is never sure of what their true intentions are. This was proven as he was left by himself after his mother’s death. While he has financial support from family members, he didn’t have anyone to give him comfort. Furthermore, he also told Shinjiro (his mother’s killer) how people only give him pity. It had gotten to a point where he would kill himself after killing Shinjiro. The reason was how he didn’t have a reason to live once his revenge was done. This further shows how much he doesn’t have a positive outlook on life as he believes people only want to get the most out of others.

Luckily, after the events from The Answer, he is slowly starting to see the good in humanity as he can see people are emotionally fragile. After what he's been through, he only wants to help others to overcome their problems.

Finally, Ken is someone who is extremely resilient. Despite witnessing his mother’s death, fighting at a young age, and dealing with psychological trauma of facing death, he manages to come out a strong and determined young boy. After battling his friends and seeing the reason for the male main character’s death, he does come to realize that he needs to form bonds with others to help humanity as a whole. He is slowly trying to be empathetic and kind to others. This was shown as he never blamed Yukari for everything during The Answer and instead sympathized with her as he wanted to see their dead friend back.

Despite how empathetic and cool headed he can be, Ken is very emotional. He might not show it but his emotions do get the better of him as he allows it to nearly get himself killed. It was his emotions of anger, sadness, and regret that made him not think clearly to the point where he’ll go so far to kill someone. He even stated himself that his own emotions of how he didn’t want to be alone drove him to go so far. Furthermore, when someone teases him to state how he should act his age, he would occasionally tell them off. Additionally, Ken is still a kid as he doesn’t know how to control his own emotions just yet. While he is getting better (such as allowing himself to make good judgment when he’s calmer), it would occasionally pop up.

Since Ken can be emotional, he comes across as childish. He tries hard to make himself look like an adult, it serves himself as a reminder that he’s still a kid. Throughout his canon, he tries various ways to make himself look mature such as drinking milk to grow taller (despite how it hurts his stomach), drinking black coffee (even though he hates it) and hiding his love for a children’s show (when he knows so much about it). When these issues come up, Ken responds by denying it or attempting to change the subject. While most of this can be chalked up to his age, it still shows how he’s someone who is too serious for his own good.

Despite everything Ken went through, one has to remember that he’s still a kid. He knows he messed up badly and wants to do everything to make it right. He had three deaths all resolving to save his life and wants to make the most out of it. He knows he still has a lot to learn in life and will do everything to make it up to everyone around him.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Immediate
Items: Spear, His Uniform, Evoker
Retained Ability: He would have his Persona, Kala-Nemi but it wouldn’t be able to do much damage. Instead, when arriving in Kaisou, he would only start out with its innate attacks. As time goes by, he will slowly regain his abilities in the following order from Hama to Mediarahan.

Other Characters: Just Minato <3 I'm swapping out Katsuki for Izuku here after realizing he's more my main MHA these days...

Character Name: Izuku Midoriya
Canon: My Hero Academia
Canon History: Here

Canon Personality:
• Protective/helpful. In-series Izuku was granted his superpower from his idol, All Might, due to what All Might saw in him: the sort of person whose body moves before he even thinks about it to help others, a hero in nature if not in inherent ability. Izuku always tries to help others, even when they seem to be better equipped to handle things than he is. Even with Katsuki, whose relationship with Izuku is tenuous at best, Izuku will stop a fight and rush forward to help if he perceives the other boy as being in trouble. Even with enemies during an all and out battle, he was willing to catch someone he knew was only wearing Ochako's form because otherwise they would have been seriously hurt. Izuku is learning to become a hero who does more than rescues, but rescuing and helping other is always and forever his first impulse.

• Rash/self-sacrificing. The darker side of the protective hero trope is that Izuku 100% always puts literally anyone else before himself every single time. This has caused him countless broken bones, and his body has become more and more littered with scars as the series progresses. This is frequently noted in-canon to be his biggest character downfall: his self-sacrificial streak is a mile wide and has trouble not throwing himself into things. One of his biggest character development arcs emotionally has been coming to terms with needing to stop sacrificing himself needlessly, because that tendency makes him unable to save people after his body is broken to pieces. He's improving, yes, but it is still and probably will forever be a work in progress. If given a split second to choose between himself and someone else, the other person is always going to win, no matter how ill-advised that might be.

• Mild-mannered (mostly). While Izuku definitely has the hot-blooded battle tendencies (when it comes down to it) and always-have-to-help nosiness of other shounen heroes, he's sort of an awkward and mild-mannered dude in general. As a result of being socially outcast for most of his life due to not having a superpower in a world where having a superpower is the norm, Izuku spent most of his life being pretty timid and mild-mannered on the whole (although this covered a determination and well of stubbornness core of the earth deep). He's become more confident since being accepted into U.A., but Izuku is still genuinely a pretty nice guy who tries not to be a burden on other people, and who likes to nerd out about superpowers and other things. He's still a little awkward and has weird tendencies like frantic muttering as he analyzes things or takes notes, but he's much more comfortable with the thought of having actual real life friends these days. However, there are times Izuku gets more brash and a little ruder. Whenever he's trying to win, he tends to get a little more headstrong and less polite - it's because of who he associates with "victory", and he definitely gets more stubborn than ever when this happens.

• Determined/devoted. Beneath his genuinely kind and gentle exterior, though, there is a core of absolute iron. Even when he didn't have a quirk, Izuku was determined to become a hero - despite endless bullying and disbelief from others, and being told repeatedly that he wouldn't be able to do so. He's the Deku who never gives up these days, but that has actually always been the case for him. No matter what, Izuku always keeps going, frequently to the irritation and disbelief of others. Once Izuku digs his heels in, even if he sounds uncertain or timid in speech patterns, he absolutely refuses to budge on an issue. He's also very passionate. Any pursuit that Izuku starts in on is given his full attention and devotion. Once he's gifted his quirk, he starts the long and still continuing journey of mastering it, and he doesn't take the easy way out or take shortcuts, ever. He works beyond the hours of class late into the night, he's always seeking the next thing, he's always trying. Beyond that, Izuku tends to get very devoted to people/things - he's always starry-eyed over All Might, and he even admires his childhood bully for perceived strengths. He's kind of a moron.

• Intelligent. ...But he's actually a really smart person, despite being a blockhead about certain subjects. Izuku's booksmart, but he's also gained a lot of battle smarts thanks to those selfsame booksmarts. He's analytical, he's good at picking up new things, and he's always constantly trying to self-improve and learn. If there's anything that's truly terrifying about Izuku Midoriya beyond One For All, it's the speed at which he learns and retains new information and techniques.
AU History:
• Born and raised in Japan, Izuku moved away nearer to middle school to America to rejoin his father (alongside his mother). Previously his dad had worked overseas without his family, but they decided it was a bit too much time apart.

• Inko's family operated/operates still a shrine in Japan, specializing in exorcisms and the like because damnit I like exorcisms and the like. She worked there for a long time, but reduced her duties a lot when she decided to get married and raise a child. Still, this was Izuku's first introduction to the supernatural: his mother, and her own abilities.

• As such, his abilities are holy/light focused, though still small in nature. He tries to learn what he can there, but a lot of his energy is spent instead on his "real" life. He's currently attending college, focused on engineering for the moment since he likes fiddling with things.

• Might build more connections on the fly, but currently just was childhood friends with Katsuki before the other family moved! But Izuku is friendly and nice and has a part time job as a barista because look. I know what I'm about.
AU Personality Differences: Izuku is a bit more confident! Still kind of jumpy sometimes, but he didn't experience full on aggressive bullying for his entire life - just lowkey stuff when he was a little kid over his being a crybaby more than the whole "Quirkless" thing which isn't an issue here! He also isn't into actual superheroes because they aren't...a thing, but he really likes comics and the like. Way too into going to Comicon and etc.

Element: Light
Purchased Powers: Turn a glass worth of water into holy water (1 point) + Temporary super-speed boost (1 minute, 5x the speed of an average person) (2 points).

Character Name: Katsuki Bakugou
Canon: My Hero Academia
Canon History: here

Canon Personality: Katsuki Bakugou is a loud, aggressive, angry boy. Blunt and honest to the point of being actively rude. He doesn't hold back with anyone. Both with his words and in battle. He has a drive to win and to be the best and as such he'll never give less than his best and he can't stand people who hold back. Despite all these nasty characteristics, Katsuki does have the heart of a hero. He does want to help and save people. He does care about his classmates in his own way, even if he doesn't verbalize it. And he has learned to work with others in order to achieve the perfect victories he strives for. His drive to be the best at everything leads him to constantly learn and adapt. While he'll rarely admit a shortcoming aloud, he does inwardly acknowledge when one is brought to his attention. And he'll often reflect on it in his own time and decide how to tackle it. And as he gets older and experiences the ways he's holding himself back from being a hero, he does slowly change and mature, even owning up to his wrongdoings in the past regarding his childhood friend whome he bullied, apologizing for his actions and striving to atone for them. And he's started letting his more caring and protective side show recently.

AU History: When Katsuki was four years old he fell into a river and nearly drowned. He was saved by a kitsune spirit and is now possessed by it.

He grew up in a nice neighborhood with fashion designers for parents so he's lived a comfortable life.

He was still childhood friends with Izuku Midoriya, but the other boy moved away to America just before middle school.

Right now he's in college, majoring in cyber security and has, by some twist of fate, found himself sharing a dorm room with Izuku.

AU Personality Differences: In a world without heroes and quirks, Katsuki isn't quite as aggressive or violent. And he never had his falling out with his childhood friend. Instead they lost touch when Izuku moved away. He's still blunt and abrasive and rude, but his sharp edges are a little more dulled.

Element: Fire
Purchased Powers: Conjure a lighter sized flame (1 point)
Low level heat manipulation (2 points)

Possession: Katsuki is possessed by a kitsune. And his contract price is that he expends energy twice as fast as a normal person. Meaning he gets tired faster and needs to rest more often.

Character Name: Souta Suzukaze
Canon: Otogi Juushi Akazukin (Fairy Musketeers)
Canon History:
For the first 14 years of his life, Souta had fairly ordinary childhood in Tokyo. His mother suddenly disappeared when he was very young, so he lived alone with his father. With his dad's work taking up most of his time, Souta was mostly taken care of by his childhood friend, Ringo. That aside, he had a relatively happy and peaceful life.

Then he starts getting reoccurring nightmares where his mother is kidnapped and monsters chase him. This led him to look further into a fairy tale she used to tell him, one where God split the powers of science and magic into two realms. While trying to find it in book stores, Souta overhears someone telling that story and seeks them out. However, it turns out to be a trap. The person changes into a monster and attacks. Souta is saved by a talking wolf and a girl that he had seen in his dreams, Akazukin.

From them, he learns that his mother's fairy tale was at least partially true. There are two worlds: one of science (Elde) and another of magic (Phandavale). An evil witch Cendrillon had reawaken in Phandavale, plotting to take over both worlds. In order to do so, she needs the power of Elde's Key, which Souta unknowingly bears. Thus the Fairy Musketeers had been instructed to protect the Key from Cendrillon's forces.

His saviors stick around Souta's house and are slowly joined by the rest of the Musketeers. As things grow more dire in Phandavale, the pathway back to the magical land grows weaker and risks disappearing entirely. Before that can happen, Souta and Ringo join the Fairy Musketeers as they return to Phandavale. Together they go on many adventures in order to save the king and kingdom.

Canon Personality:
- Extremely empathetic. Souta cares so much for all manner of life. Since he can understand and talk to flowers, this isn't just blind idealism but rather the knowledge that these lives have value. He listens to and wants to help those around him. Souta tends to put equal value on all lives, which can put him in some painful situations at times. However, it also makes him a very supportive and kind-hearted friend to have.

- Considerate and polite. Souta tends to focus on other people over himself. He is quick to say thank you or apologize. While he is honest to a fault, he will hide the truth if he thinks it will prevent others from worrying about him. This tendency also shows up in battles. Despite having a decent sense of self preservation, that often goes out the window if someone else is in danger. Souta will gladly put himself on the line if it will keep others safe. Thankfully, his magical friends and the power of Elde's Key usually prevents this from going too far.

- Quietly passive. Souta is a very gentle soul, for better or for worse. He does not like to get into conflicts and is often the first to offer an olive branch to an enemy. This might be in part due to not realizing he as the power to fight back, but Souta definitely prefers a peaceful solution. That said, he also doesn't object to others protecting him. Souta is more than willing to let others take charge, not really wanting to rock the boat. While this makes him very easy going, it can also result in him getting talked over and dragged into uncomfortable situations. An idea has to really go against his morals or wishes before he'll speak up. Even when his feelings are hurt, Souta is still slow to anger, trying to see things from others' point of view.

- Naive and childish. Souta often comes across as very sheltered, despite his family's tragedy. He is trusting to a fault, quick to believe in things or people. While this can make him seem foolish at times, his belief also provides him a fairly unshakeable faith in other people. Rather than a transactional style of belief where he expects results, his trust in others draws out the best in Souta. He is very friendly with people he's just met, and usually is rewarded in kind. Souta is also not afraid to be himself, no matter how silly it might look to others. When he is talking about subjects he is interested in, whether plants or fairy tales, he expresses joy and happiness openly. He is also rather curious about the world around him. All together, Souta can be impressionable, both to good and bad influences.

- Observant. Despite his childlike belief, he is still decently smart and sensible. Souta does well in school and can think his way out of some tricky situations. More than that, he is good at noticing details, especially when it comes to the people around him. He can tell when his friends are feeling off or hiding something. Souta tends to keep his observations to himself, though on occasion he will share them with the person in question. Oddly, this intuition does not seem to extend to himself. Souta fails to realize that his ability to talk to plants is odd or might have a magical origin. Nor does he recognize the power of the Elde Key when it protects him the first few times, assuming it was a spell from one of his friends. He also seems to be oblivious to the romantic feelings of others.

AU History:
He's still living at home with his father, who cares but is distant due to work. However, Souta has no memories of his mother. His father won't say much about the subject.

The two recently moved to Kaisou. While his father claims it was in order to be closer to his workplace, Souta quietly suspects it was due to himself somehow.

While he used to have some school friends, he also attracted bullies. Souta had a reputation for being somewhat of an oddball, making him a pretty easy target for picking on. Most of it would go over his head, and his friends would stamp it out quickly once they heard. However, now he's starting from square one again without any friends for support. Therefore, he mostly keeps to himself in school.

Souta is often left to his own devices in the evenings, now that he's a teenager. His father gives him an allowance for ordering dinner, since he's not allowed to cook without his father's supervision (which is probably for the best).

AU Personality Differences:
- Since he doesn't remember his mother, Souta is no longer obsessed with fairy tales specifically. However, he is still an imaginative kid and enjoys fantasy stories in general. He can sometimes get a bit lost in his own little world. (He's definitely not using fantasy as a way to distract himself from his missing mother, nooooo.)

- Without Ringo around to help him around the house, Souta has become more self-reliant with chores. He still doesn't know how to cook though, and often needs his father to help him wake up in the morning.

- A bit more quiet and nervous around new people, but that will likely only last a little while until he gets a new support network.

- He does not talk to plants (yet). Instead, what marks him as odd is being so childish at age fourteen.

Other Characters: Usagi Tsukino

Character Name: Nana Daiba
Canon: Revue Starlight
Canon History: Wiki, episode summaries, second movie summary

Canon Personality: Nana plays the role of "team mom" to the girls at Seisho Music Academy. She's sweet, kind, and hard-working, taking on roles both onstage and backstage. She's usually the one who - even after a hard day of school, training, and backstage work - greets the other girls when they come back to the dorm at night. Nana is the team mom to the extent that she even goes out of her way to be sure everyone else is taking care of themselves, whether that means that they're eating properly and getting enough rest, or just need a friend to talk to for a bit.

That's Nana on the outside, and even to an extent on the inside. Everything she does is based on one thing and one thing only: protecting what she believes to have been the single brightest moment she's had. That moment is the performance of the play 'Starlight' that she and her classmates put on during their first year at Seisho. For the first time, Nana felt like she was part of something bright and beautiful, something that she needed others to be a part of, but most importantly something where she herself was needed. She had never felt that kind of radiance before.

When Nana joins the secret underground Revues, she has only one focus, and that's to make sure she protects that beautiful, brilliant stage. Again and again, she fights the other girls in duels - singing, dancing, fighting - and she defeats them. Every time, she uses the wish granted to the Top Star to return to that stage. This happens at least 60 times. Nana does this knowing that the brilliance of the other girls is fueling her wish, but nothing matters to her more than that single shining moment. She eventually comes to believe that she's not just protecting her moment, she's protecting her friends. If nothing changes, they won't be hurt, and more importantly, they won't leave her.

The problem comes in when Nana is faced with the prospect of things changing. She might not outwardly show it, but she's bitter that newcomer Hikari has come in, joined the Revues, and is threatening everything. Hikari is the first one that's able to beat Nana in a Revue, in a moment that Nana has to admit is beautiful. That victory sets things in motion; eventually Nana is defeated for good and the Revues seem to stop. Nana admits that seeing things change hurts, but she's seemingly learned that they leave room for growth.

At least, that's what we think up until the second movie. A bitter Nana, faced with the knowledge that their time at Seisho is ending and her friends are going in different directions, intentionally starts the Revues again. This time, it's less about protecting them and more about showing them that this change is too painful; the change that comes with them leaving is the death of their past selves, in her words. She gets to the point where she even asks her closest friend to hurt herself, but then stops. She realizes - it's a forced realization, but a true one - that she doesn't need to lose her friends. More importantly, she can now look to the future with a degree of optimism that she couldn't have had before.

AU History: Nana was born and raised in Kaisou. When she was a child, she showed a talent for music and dance, and her parents enrolled her in dance and music lessons. She started acting in community theatre when she was little, her first starring role being in a production of Annie when she was seven. That's when she first heard the rumors about there being a ghost in one of the theatres in Kaisou. She knew strange things could happen in the city, but she shrugged it off as just a rumor.

Nana attended Kaisou High School, where she had her first experience with the paranormal - the rumors of a ghost in the theatre weren't just rumors. Nana found out the hard way that the rumors were real when she was attacked by a Spirit Monster while she was rehearsing alone for her role as Christine in Phantom of the Opera. The prop chandelier crashed onto the stage, trapping her under it until she was possessed by the spirit of a harpy, allowing her to get away and heal.

Now, Nana is a theatre major at Kaisou University. She's hoping to do bigger shows one day, but for now, she's content with her studies and her part-time job at a bakery.

AU Personality Differences: The only major difference between canon Nana and AU Nana is that she's a lot more cautious. The falling chandelier incident has also made her afraid of heavy things falling on her again.

Element: Wind
Purchased Powers: Low-level sound manipulation (two points) and making small objects float (one point).
Possession: She's possessed by a harpy. Her contract price is that for one week a month, she's constantly hungry. She can eat, but no matter how much she eats, it won't be enough to satiate that hunger.

Character Name: Haruka Isumi
Canon: Idolish7
Canon Point: Post-Part 4
History: •When Haruka was very young, his parents died in an accident and his grandmother took him in.
•Everything was going fine, even if raising a child was a lot of work for her alone, but one day Haruka met a man by chance who said that he would be willing to raise Haruka himself.
•Haruka was very excited by this prospect because he thought it would ease the burden on his grandmother, but there’s a catch as there always is. This man - Takamasa Kujou - was looking to train someone who could become an idol even more legendary than Zero, an idol who revitalized the industry and kicked off a new love for idols who disappeared after three years. Kujou worked with Zero as a stage director, and he took his vanishing act very, very poorly.
•Haruka agreed to this, because he was already quite good at singing and could only get better, right?
•Right. That part is actually true, but Haruka was still not performing as well as Kujou wanted him to, and he never did adopt Haruka as he said he would even when he adopted two other children - Aya Yotsuba and Tenn Nanase - as part of their training as well.
•Kujou dubbed Haruka a failure, even though the boy had done everything as he was told. Kujou said he would never become a popular idol, and he was a disappointment so Kujou was sending him back to Japan and would never see him again.
•Naturally Haruka was pretty upset by this, and began to harbor a grudge against his replacement, Tenn.
•Not long after his return to Japan, Haruka was approached by Ryou Tsukumo, a man who was set to inherit Tsukumo Entertainment. The company was looking to branch into the idol market, and he was offering Haruka a spot in their first group - ŹOOĻ
• ŹOOĻ was comprised of four members in total - with Haruka himself as one of the centers, which meant he would be doing most of the singing and getting most of the attention. The other members included ŹOOĻ’s other center, Touma Inumaru, who’s idol group disbanded after their loss at the music competition Black or White against the group TRIGGER, as all but Touma decided there was no point in continuing in the industry as an indie group. They were joined by Minami Natsume, a former child actor who left acting to pursue what he actually wanted to do; he ended up being taught piano and music composition by the very same man who composed Zero’s songs. Torao Midou rounded out the group, but he’s just a rich guy jaded by being rich and having his family look down on him and his abilities because of his position as the second son. He does have a suspiciously familiar backstory to TRIGGER member Ryuunosuke Tsunashi, with his family running several luxury hotels and making a name and fortune from it all… Except, of course, that is Torao’s actual life, and Ryuu is just the son of a fisherman from Okinawa who’s step-father runs an inn.
•Naturally, absolutely none of this is a coincidence.
•ŹOOĻ had been formed for one purpose and one purpose only - Ryou Tsukumo wanted to destroy the idol industry, as he harbored a deep loathing for it after being snubbed by Zero as a child. (That’s it, that’s his villain origin story.) Ryou’s plan was to use an idol group unlike the rest on the market to make people question the industry, while also spreading rumors and exposing scandals tied to other popular idols he was able to discover thanks to his family’s connection to the entertainment world.
•Also murder. Ryou was super down for murder, but we’ll get to that later.
•ŹOOĻ was incredibly successful off the bat, thanks to having the power of an entertainment titan backing them, and because they were completely different from the other major idol groups. They weren’t as cheerful and sunny as the titular group IDOLiSH7, they didn’t care or cater to their fans as much as TRIGGER did, and they didn’t have the same friendly rapport and joking attitude as the duo Re:vale. They were… antagonistic, one could say, which caught people’s attention.
•As ŹOOĻ grew in popularity, things began to change. While the only one of them who had initially been passionate for their group from the beginning was Touma, the others slowly began to turn around - while also growing increasingly more disturbed and worried by Ryou’s actions. The man was willing to sabotage other groups by straight up kidnapping the members of TRIGGER on the day of their concert, which led to the group being dropped by their publisher as a way to avoid dealing with the scandal and disappointment of what the public saw as TRIGGER ghosting their fans. Basically, they were realizing that Ryou was off his fucking rocker.
•Eventually, Ryou got tired of ŹOOĻ and decided it was time to destroy the group he had created himself. He wasn’t making any progress towards his goal of destroying idols once and for all, after TRIGGER began making names for them as indie artists and he was making no headway exposing Chiba Salon, a scandal that would destroy IDOLiSH7’s reputation due to it centering around their leader Yamato Nikaido and Japan’s most beloved actor, Shizuo Chiba. He was also getting the runaround from Momo from Re:vale, so he couldn’t take them down, either!
•Ryou’s plan to destroy ŹOOĻ was to destroy their credibility as musicians and put them into situations where they would fail - such as sending them to a metal festival in Denmark, because there was absolutely no way metal fans would enjoy their music and it would be an utter disaster. Unfortunately for him, ŹOOĻ are very good performers very good at winning over a crowd.
•(The four might have also made a detour to the neighboring country of Northmare, after the insistence that Minami see the man who taught him music one last time before he passed away from an illness, and then they also got wrapped up in drama with Northmare’s royal family, but it’s fine. Everything worked out in the end, and they were able to gain a bit of trust with IDOLiSH7 and get closer as friends, too.)
•Ryou continued to escalate after another one of his plans was thwarted, choosing Black or White as his next target. This is where the murder comes up, as he sends a bunch of goons to kill Momo and frame it as an accident in the lead up to the competition while also trying to pull even more strings to ruin even more reputations.
•So he gets arrested for attempted murder, because none of his plans work out and it turns out he had been playing 5th dimensional chess with Momo this whole time while he thought he had the idol under his thumb, and was thoroughly outplayed.
•Inevitably, ŹOOĻ lost at Black or White to IDOLiSH7, and they lost their manager with Ryou’s arrest, but they were determined to stay in this industry as all four of them are incredibly, incredibly stubborn.

Personality: •He’s super tsundere, being bratty and rude to everyone he meets, but he does care deep down and will do anything he can for the people he loves. He’s just bad at showing it and easily embarrassed.

•It takes Haruka a long time to open up and trust people, and he tries to keep everyone at arm’s length by being incredibly prickly. This prickliness means he does struggle when it comes time to communicate sincerely and openly, as he’s… not really sure how to do that, and struggles to get himself across the way he wants to.

•Once you get him to warm up to people and once he gains a bit more confidence that his life is going on an upwards trajectory, Haruka has the energy and enthusiasm you would expect from a teenager. He hasn’t been able to be a child for most of his life, so he’s especially eager when he gets to do the things he doesn’t usually do and appreciates the small pleasures in life. He doesn’t often get to be carefree and happy, but it’s not that he’s completely embittered by the world.

•Even if he doesn’t have the same life experience as the other members of ŹOOĻ, being the youngest, he’s incredibly perceptive and is one of the first to realize Ryou is up to no good. I wouldn’t quite say he’s the voice of reason as he’s too content to let everyone else fight it out, and has a tendency to leave when he’s frustrated instead of stopping conflict, but he’s very aware of what’s going on at all times.

•He just really wants people to acknowledge him and tell him he’s doing well, and to prove everyone who says anything bad about him that they’re wrong. He doesn’t want to be a failure any more. At his core he’s someone desperate to please others and be told he’s doing well.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: April 17th, he has no idea what’s going on.
Items: •Smartphone
•Wallet, with ID, a bank card, and transit passes.
•Headphones, for use with his phone.
•Hand-held gaming console, which is probably branded with a rabbit pun.
Retained Ability: Absolutely nothing, as he has no supernatural abilities of any sort.

Character Name: Hansa Cervantes
Canon: Fate/Strange Fake
Canon History: wrote it up here!

Canon Personality:

One would expect a priest to have poise, and grace, and respect towards others. Hansa has none of those things. Though he may initially present himself as someone who stands in a perfectly responsible and respectful position, he uses that position to reveal that he's essentially just happy to be a thorn in people's sides that he believes deserve it. Hansa seems to revel in getting under people's skins, and he's sarcastic and wisecracking as they come, waving off threats with smirks and inserting himself into situations just to cause trouble.

The fact that Hansa is so free-spirited as a person is even more bizarre considering that he was brutally trained and physically changed to be "a first-rate murderer" that acts as mankind's weapon in his role as an Executor. Even others are surprised by his attitude, considering that Hansa essentially does whatever he wants to, and he can even utter absolutely blasphemous things such as saying he'll look over vampires who are doing their best to live quietly in society even though he was made to eliminate any vampire, evil or not. Hansa is very well aware of his role, and does take it seriously when push comes to shove, but in the end, he seems to have his own internal rules for what he needs to do, and seems to shirk authority at every turn. He does have a deep respect for the Church that he'll never waver on, but he's....not that great of a priest. Sorry, Hansa.

However, despite his sarcasm and chaotic nature, Hansa...isn't that bad of a guy at all. He can be friendly to those he likes and is very good with kids and teens, mostly because, as one of his nuns says "he's a kid at heart". Hansa had an absolutely traumatic childhood where he was literally feral for a while and then was eventually changed into Inspector Gadget: Church Edition on top of that, and yet, despite everything....he grew up with a genuine joy for life and all it has to offer. He has no regrets, no misgivings, no angst - you'd think the man would carry a grudge against vampires in general for what happened to his family and his village, but he just...doesn't. He likes his job and likes fighting vampires and heretics and that's all there to it. What a man.

AU History:
- Hansa was raised in a Spanish village in the mountains until one day Krusnik came to town, wanting to collect children for their cause. Hansa was born with amazing strength far beyond his peers, and they took great interest in him
- Krusnik was rebuffed by the village, but not taking rejection lightly, they moved to destroy the village during the night, setting it on fire to try to grab Hansa and the other children
- Hansa's mother sacrificed herself in an attack by a Krusnik member letting Hansa escape, where he fled to the mountains
- Over the next several years, Hansa basically becomes feral and survives in the mountains on his own with barely any human contact, being known as a "monster" and a "demon" - he loses one eye and an arm at some point at this time and hones his body's superhuman abilities to survive the wilderness amongst bears and other creatures
- A kindly priest doing work in the area is told about the monster in the area and decides to check it out, finding Hansa - after several conversations with the boy, he decides to take him in and allow another priest to adopt him as his son
- Hansa gets his eye and arm replaced at some point
- The priest, Delmio Cervantes, takes Hansa back to his home in Kaisou and raises Hansa well and trains him in being a priest to follow in his footsteps - however, he has been secretly investigating Krusnik himself over the years due to a personal involvement, having lost his family to them too
- Hansa finds out his foster father is investigating them and wants in given his history, and after multiple attempts at persuasion and realizing his son's latent physical abilities, Delmio decides to train him in martial arts and lets him work alongside him in an effort to find out more information about the group
- Now, Hansa works as part of the clergy in Kaisou as a priest by day, Krusnik-investigating agent by night, though in the meantime he and his father look down on the Black Order and their rigid ways and don't care to affiliate with them whatsoever

AU Personality Differences:
- No longer a whole body cyborg! he's just a really powerful human with a metal right arm and a fake eye, so he's no longer a "weapon of God" in any way - though this means he's more of a type to throw himself in danger and get consequences for it in the form of permanent injury
- Has no specific role like he did as Executor and is even more of a free spirit - there's no specific significant responsibility he has to the Church besides being a priest now, so he really can Do Whatever He Wants
- Overall not much else has changed - he's still a sarcastic laidback troll of a guy who Loves to Fight because deep down, he still is very much that feral child from the mountains
- Has more knowledge of memes now to everyone's misfortune

Character Name: G'raha Tia (AU'd to Raha Exarcheas)
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon History: Here

Canon Personality: G'raha is, in the most basic of terms, a weird, friendly nerd. He is good natured and polite, though does enjoy playful teasing and riddles. He's the sort of person who seems very open, willing to talk about a great many things and happy to lend a helping hand, but very rarely talks about himself in great length and has a tendency to keep secrets. This is especially true of his motives, however well-intentioned they may be.

On the other hand, he is absolutely incapable of hiding his feelings about people he admires and those who are dear to him. In particular, he gets very flustered when anyone points out just how much he adores the Warrior of Light, and the fact that he becomes a complete nerd recounting what he's read of famous figures when he meets them. He is deeply loyal to his friends, despite not always cluing them in on what he's thinking, and will do anything to aid them- up to and including his own death.

AU History: Raha was born in Eastern Europe, but he remembers little of his time there as his family moved to England when he was quite young. His family seemed to have a knack for getting themselves involved in the supernatural, which was a large part of them moving since English normies have a bit more of 'harmless weirdo' attitude towards it all, which turned out to be especially important after Raha became attuned to the paranormal at a young age after a run in with some manner of three-headed dog. The experience did nothing to scare him off from it, however, and he made a habit of reading every sort of fairytale and mythology, and large, overwrought analyses of them when he was a bit older, as well as studying some bits of magic to use on his own.

He's been in Kaisou at the university for a few years, having finished uni in England and moving here for graduate school, and the Spirit Vein is a large part of why he chose school here. He is a giant nerd who spends entirely too much time in the library, to the point of forgetting things like 'eating' and 'sleeping,' but he's a friendly and sociable sort who is happy to strike up conversation and will tell you his entire thesis if you ask. He's TA'd and taught a few undergraduate history classes, but spends a vast majority of his time on his own research.

AU Personality Differences: Main difference is since he has no experience being the 'Exarch,' he is significantly less confident in any situation where he needs to like. Be in charge, or act as leadership. Having to teach classes has been an experience.

Purchased Powers: Perfect night vision (3 points) (It's great for reading in the dark)

Character Name: Meta Knight ("Meti Cervantes Vargas" in the AU)
Canon: Kirby series
Canon History: here's the wiki

Canon Personality:
- serious
- fiercely protective
- generally honorable
- loyal; once one has his friendship, he's ride or die
- blood knight; he likes fighting so, so much
- vigilant; responds quickly to, and is ever watchful for signs of danger
- dislikes laziness, but has dialed it back from loathing it
- cannot stand to have his actual face perceived to the point that he will immediately flee if his mask gets knocked off or broken

AU History:
An orphan of unknown origin, the first event of particular note in Meti's life was being "acquired" by a corporation of few morals and access to a portal to the Spirit Realm of Nightmares to test what methods of giving people powers would be most reliable. You know, because stray children are less expensive test subjects than adults, and fewer people will ask questions if a random kid vanishes than an employee with family and an insurance payout. Of course, some people did start poking their noses in, and things snowballed until the next thing Meti knew, he was being carried from the wreckage of the company's headquarters by some kind stranger.

Said kind stranger left him and a few of his fellow former experiments in care of a foster parent with known ties to the supernatural. Kind of bad form to leave a kid who's gained the ability to sprout bat wings on regular people, after all. Life entered a state of relative normalcy afterward, though Meti never forgot how he got there, and for a time wished he could be a fairytale knight so he could protect others.

Come adulthood, the lad ended up starting a business working on aircraft after realizing the childhood dream of being a knight was not viable and most of the people with the money for hiring bodyguards are people he'd rather punch in the face himself. It's working out pretty well considering he's successfully not punched any clients in the face. He's remained close with the four he was rescued with, only trusting them and a handful of others to be his employees.

However, because he's still a fighty little bastard who likes challenging people so he can get stronger (and secretly enjoys the attention), Meti decided it would be a great idea to join the local cagefighting circuit, and has a bit of a fanbase beyond just his friends.

AU Personality Differences: He's not a lot different, honestly, beyond acknowledging that he has human limitations and therefore cannot feasibly attempt anything like fighting an entire army by himself. For this reason, he's also much more pragmatic when it comes to fights not in the ring, and has learned to rely more on his fists than a sword since carrying a sword around everywhere is not going to fly outside fake ones at conventions and during LARP.

Character Name: Moana (Moana Ka’uhane)
Canon: Moana
Canon History: Disney wik

Canon Personality:
  • Caring
  • Kind
  • Loyal
  • Resourceful
  • Adventurous
  • Brave
  • Hard-working
  • Spirited
  • Optimistic
  • Stubborn (sometimes annoyingly so)
  • Can be reckless
  • Naive at times
  • Can be selfish about her desires and need to prove herself

  • AU History:
  • Moana Ka’uhane was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to a pretty well-off family; not quite rich, but it was enough to provide Moana a comfortable life with her parents and paternal grandmother
  • Because her parents were often working, Moana spent a lot of time with her grandmother, who had a connection with the spirit world. Moana grew up listening to her grandmother’s stories about ghosts, magic, and the supernatural.
  • When Moana was 10 years old, her own spirit power was awakened after the death of her grandmother, and Moana was able to see her ghost. Her grandmother remained in the world to help Moana navigate her new awareness of the supernatural, and guide her with understanding her spirit power
  • After the end of her 8th grade year, Moana’s father announced that he had accepted a job in Kaisou, and that the family would be moving. Because her grandmother’s ghost was attached to Hawaii, she wouldn’t be able to stay with Moana, and so decided to finally move on, much to Moana’s dismay
  • In the summer of that year, Moana and her family moved to Kaisou, and though Moana was upset at having to leave Hawaii, she was intrigued by the spiritual presence she felt in Kaisou
  • Moana began her freshman year at Kaisou Public High School, much to her father’s consternation. And while the first few months of her first year were a bit rough and awkward, being new and not knowing anyone, she grew to be more comfortable with her new setting and making some new friends, which was helped as she joined the swim team
  • As more strange things began happening in the city, Moana began to try investigating the supernatural happenings in the city herself

  • AU Personality Differences:
  • The biggest difference from her OU counterpart was Moana’s reluctance to leave the home she grew up in. While Moana is still adventurous and eager to explore, she never had any intention to move away from Hawaii. Though she does learn to enjoy her time in Kaisou, she refuses to admit so to her father
  • Moana and her father argue quite a bit more often, due to them not quite seeing eye to eye on many issues, such as Moana not wanting to leave Hawaii (especially since it’s the place her grandmother was laid to rest), and her father having wanted her to attend private school rather than public school. This is mostly minor though, as despite their arguments they still deeply care for each other
  • Unlike her OU counterpart, who was preparing to become the chief of her people, Moana acts more like other teenagers. She doesn’t have as large a sense of responsibility, and is a little more prone to sneak behind her father’s back. She can be a bit more mischievous and bend the rules a bit. However this is also mostly minor, as nothing she does is outright malicious and is mostly just for the sake of having a bit of fun

    Character Name: Varian
    Canon: Tangled
Canon Point: S3E19 Plus est en vous - Post series epilogue
History: Don't you worry, whatever it might take, I'm finding a way.

Personality: TW: parental "death", PTSD and suicidal ideations.

They say there's a thin line between genius and insanity. Varian not only straddles that line, but he's set up a permanent base on it. Science, especially alchemy, is his lifeblood, and he's at his happiest when he's creating inventions or mixing new alchemical concoctions. It has made him something of the village weirdo, and before Rapunzel showed up on the scene, he clearly didn't have any friends. Though Varian likes people plenty, he tends to gloss over that maybe not everyone is as interested in science as he is. He tends to yammer on about whatever he's working on to his friends like an excited puppy, not picking up that they're not really all that interested in what he's talking about. Even when they outright tell him so. It makes him on the socially awkward side at best and dismissive of people's interests at worst. He's very eager to share what he knows and show people what he can do- there's a deeply ingrained need to please people there.

It's this desire to please others that cultivates one of Varian's most glaring flaws. Varian desperately seeks validation from his loved ones- particularly his father, Quirin. He wants nothing more than for his father to be proud of him - a motivation that pushes him through the first season while also being one of the root causes for his descent into villainy. Quirin is their village leader- a tough, hardworking man with a dark past of his own- miles apart from his science-minded, curious son. There's definitely a gap between them, personality-wise, and Varian does his best to bridge it, wanting his father to see what he does and be impressed by it. The thing Varian wants most in the world is to be praised for his efforts, to be told he's doing good and helpful things- that he can make a difference in the only way he knows how. He creates an entirely new element to impress Cassandra, whom he carries a torch for, admitting that "if I could show you what I was capable of, you would see something in me, something special." He's treated as something of an oddity- with a mind beyond his time, so he tends to be ostracised, marked as 'a wizard' and 'dangerous' by the citizens of Old Corona. He's misunderstood by everyone who speaks to him, and this only makes him more determined to show what he can do and earn their praise and acceptance.

The kid has a streak of righteousness in him. Varian cares, an awful lot, sometimes a little too much. He wants to make the world a better place with scientific progress- and later wants to use his knowledge to help people fight forces that might otherwise destroy them. He feels that he sees things others either don't see or choose to ignore. When the Black Rocks started taking over Old Corona, his was the loudest voice shouting to do something about them. He could see the threat they were to the village (and likely the world at large) and studied them to try and find out how to remove the threat. When his father not only refused to do anything about them but then later lied to the King about the fact they were a problem at all, Varian lashed out- arguing that their home was being destroyed and he seemed to be the only person who cared about it. Quirin, knowing the true nature of the rocks and trying to protect his son, forbade Varian from experimenting on them. This was something Varian utterly disregarded- believing his father was burying his head in the sand instead of trying to save their village. Later, Varian was the one Rapunzel entrusted with the Demanitus Scroll, knowing that he has the drive and passion to decipher what it means and would not rest until he understood how to use it to protect Corona. Once Varian has set his mind on something, very little will deter him. He's a stubborn little dude.

Unfortunately, this righteousness and his desire for validation mean Varian often fails to understand the consequences of his actions before it's too late. He has tunnel vision when it comes to his experiments and creations. He sees what his end goal is and is willing to reach that no matter what. To him, the end always justifies the means, even when those aforementioned means dip into morally grey areas. This results in his inventions often backfiring on him or causing severe harm to those around him- simply because he failed to think through what might happen if he achieved what he was aiming for. He almost blows Old Corona sky high trying to create a hot water system for them (to make the villagers happy and his father impressed!!!) and his focus when things go wrong was that he "couldn't let it happen again" - trying to fix his mistake- rather than admitting he probably shouldn't have done it in the first place. He does, at least, try to resolve the problems he inadvertently causes. That said, most of those problems could have been averted if he'd thought about if he should do something before thinking if he could.

Varian is a sassy little so-and-so, he has a sarcastic streak a mile wide and has no problem with unleashing it on people. Eager to please as he might be, he doesn't suffer fools gladly. He doesn't have a lot of patience - especially with people who might not be on his own wavelength. Lance especially tends to be the subject of his ire- delightful himbo that he is. This isn't ideal when he's usually the smartest person in the room. Ironically, for an alchemist, he has a short fuse. If he's been irritated or had any of his buttons pressed, he has explosive (hah) angry outbursts. While usually a relatively harmless trait- he cools off relatively quickly- this anger can (and did) turn into something much darker if it's allowed to fester in him.

And eventually, that dark streak was allowed to fester. Rapunzel being unable to come to help him when he needed her most left a deep sense of betrayal in him. The loss of literally everyone he could rely on hit him hard and turned him against the very people he respected and cared about so much. Here, he showed his ability to be deceptive and cruel- pulling Rapunzel along with lies to get her to commit treason for him, and then letting loose with how much she let him down and how he only used her when she finally called him out on it.

This only got worse after he turned completely on Rapunzel. He thought nothing about kidnapping the Queen- then using amber against her to force Rapunzel to help him. All that mattered was saving his father and then making Corona pay for failing them. When that failed, Varian finally snapped. All his anger and hurt exploded out of him, and he lashed out at his former friends. He only cared for revenge, and tried to kill both the Queen and Cassandra in front of the princess- he wanted Rapunzel to "endure the same amount of pain and agony I have". It was no longer about the greater good, or saving his father- it was about making his former friend suffer. That anger and hurt still boiled inside him as he was defeated and taken away. Varian had crossed a line and found himself capable of things he never realised he was capable of before.

This was something that was used to the group's advantage once Varian rejoined the fold. Eugene entrusted him with finding a way to stop Cassandra permnenantly. Both knew this was an absolute last resort, but Varian is also one of the few people within the group who can cross that moral line and do what needs to be done if all other options fail. In the lead up to the final battle, installed a stun mechanism in Quirin's helmet- once Eugene pointed out he was likely a sleeper agent under Cassandra's mind control. It visibly broke Varian's heart to harm his father again- but he did what was needed for the greater good.

Varian carries a lot of guilt over his past actions. His year in jail gave him the space he needed to actually think about what he did, and where he let his anger and hurt take him. After aligning himself with the Saporians, he decided the only way out of the dark place he'd got himself was to erase what he'd done completely. He desperately wanted to redeem himself for what he did- but he felt no one would give him a second chance, and wiping everyone's memories was the only guarantee he could have for a second chance. He was willing to die in a suicide mission to stop the Saporian plot from destroying Corona- begging Rapunzel to let him "clean up his mess". Even after he earned his redemption and became part of Rapunzel's inner circle again, he is haunted by his shame and guilt. This came to a head when they needed to deal with the Red Rocks- Varian admitting to Rapunzel that what he saw in them weren't visions of his worst fears (as they were for everyone else), but reminders of what actually happened- of what he did. He came clean about how he felt no one would ever really forgive him and how he felt that most of the kingdom hated him- adding that he didn't blame them for this at all- that he did terrible things and he deserved their ire. He tackled these fears, but they have not left him entirely. When he tried to reach out to Cass- to convince her that the path of revenge would not end well for her, he opened up plenty about just how much his villainous period still bothers him. He told her it would leave her with a "permanent mark" and in carrying on this way she would "lose her faith and lose her soul". His desperate plea to her made it clear he's still very much haunted by his past and he's not as content in himself as he's been making out to the others.

Despite his past still haunting him, he still settled into his own Disney Certified Happily Ever After after the defeat of Zhan Tiri. He moved into the palace as Corona's Royal Engineer. He finally perfected his hot water boilers and Corona because the first Kingdom to have hot running water. He made a little more peace with himself and his place in the world (despite his mistakes) and was finally relatively happy. He still had plenty of healing to go- but he was on the path towards it at least.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: Immediately!
    Items:
  • His steampunk season 3 outfit.
  • Ruddiger - His pet raccoon. Like all animals in the Tangled universe, Ruddiger shows a little more sentience than a regular bog-standard animal, being able to understand what is said to him and being able to complete more complex tasks such as making hot cocoa or plotting a way to rescue his idiot human from a magical trap. Tangled animals are weird y'all. Under the influence of Varian's mutating serum, he can be turned into a giant raccoon monster thing. It's temporary, but I'm gonna nerf this from the start and make it a major regain down the line.
  • His backpack, this currently contains:
    - A few empty test tubes.
    - Two of his notebooks.
    - Quill, ink and parchment and a piece of charcoal. Note-taking 1800's style.
    - 6 empty glass balls - these are what Varian fills his solutions with to make bombs out of. They smash on impact so they're a one-use-only weapon.

Retained Ability: I'M GONNA LIST THEM HERE, but I've already spoken to Yuff about this (hi Yuff). He'll be limited to making only 1 potion a day as per potion rules and his more complex potions will have to be done with regains for ingredients and the like. He'll also struggle to get basic chemical supplies because he's a 16-year-old child in a now-modern American city and people aren't just gonna sell him acid. Rude.

Varian is a baseline human with no actual magical/powered abilities but he's by absolutely no means helpless. Varian has a genius-level intellect and can create mechanical objects beyond his time period, can create a wide range of non-magical potions, and can study and replicate potions and machinery he comes across. His general... enthusiasm and lack of caring for the consequences of his actions mean quite a few of his experiments backfire all on their own. Nothing he creates is magical technically, by his admission, it's all science-based which sure ACTS like magic. Basically, he's a living deus-ex-machina and I'm gonna do everything I can to roadblock him into not being that.

Here is some of what Varian can definitely create already:

  • Stick bombs - A sticky substance held in a glass ball, on impact they trap whatever they hit in a sticky goo that can only be removed by his neutralising potion.
  • Truth serum - A potion that compels whoever ingests it to tell the truth. This is a modified version of the mood potion - which changes a person's primary traits to their opposites when ingested. Varian replicated this, so presumably, he can make that, too. It requires a specific type of plant that only grows in Corona, so he'd need to get a regain if he were to make any more of this.
  • Flynnolium - A proto-fuel source of his own design for his machines. It also doubles as an explosive! If you blow up a shit-ton of it, it makes fireworks, weee~
  • Smoke bombs - What they say on the tin, the smoke is usually magenta for whatever reason.
  • Bubble bombs - They can encase an object or person in a bubble- which is weirdly strong and able to lift that object/person into the air.
  • Ice bombs - Creates a sheet of ice on the ground.
  • Flash bombs - Makes a bright, blinding flash of light.
  • Sleeping gas - Knocks a person unconscious - seems he needs to get close to someone for it to work.
  • Glowsticks - LET THE 19TH CENTURY CHILD GO TO A RAVE
  • Cassandrium - He made his own element I guess. It's legit just a pretty purple rock. That's how you get girls to like you, right?
  • Amber solution - Utterly useless in Kaisou. This is a solution that reacts to the Black Rocks, creating a wave of amber that traps anything and anyone in its path. It's nigh-indestructible,
  • Hot balloon/air ship - He learned how to make this from the Saporians - he can now construct one in about an hour or so, somehow.
  • Automatons - Big robots powered by Flynnolium. They have a little music box on the back which acts as their 'programming'.
  • Mutating serum???? - Whatever the hell he uses to turn Ruddiger into a giant monster thing.
  • Quirinium - A synthetic gas he was working on to erase everyone's memories. It never worked but this was also a VERY POWERFUL explosive. For larger-scale destruction than Flynnolium. If he deigned to make it again, it could level a city. He'll COMPLETELY avoid making it due to all the fun trauma attached to it.
  • An automated warning system - it shoots fireworks in the air basically.
  • An amber-firing bazooka (child, please)
  • A stun device that can be hidden in a helmet.
  • A trans-dimensional portal- he literally built a Stargate.

Content Warnings from here on out for: Attempted child murder, mental, emotional, and physical child abuse, child neglect
Canon History: Hum a merry tune

    Canon Personality:
Upon first meeting Snow White, it is not hard to see that she is very kind and innocent.

A very massive negative moment in her life was the death of her father and the abuse of her stepmother. At a very young age, Snow White was forced into labor in her own home and her life was in perpetual danger since even as a child she was considered "pretty" and "fair." So her stepmother denied her access to clothes, forbade her from interacting with others and they her, and abused her as a child. So long as Snow White wasn't prettier than her stepmother, she was safe from her very real and dangerous wrath (the queen quite literally says to alas to the girl who the mirror has found to be prettier than her, never mind the whole cut out her heart and bring it to me.)

However, her childhood didn’t make her harsh or cruel, in fact, it made Snow White even kinder and even hopeful about things.

While she has had a dark past, she doesn’t allow it to upset her or make her bitter towards people and experiences. Snow almost always maintains a positive attitude, or she will eventually get to a positive attitude quite quickly after having been upset.

She doesn’t seem to have a malicious bone in her body and instead is always open to helping others. Sweet and kind, the princess is always willing to lend a helping hand or ear. Her thoughts are on how she can do something for others and make sure everyone is happy and well attended. To some degree, this mindset is a result of her upbringing as keeping her stepmother pleased kept Snow White essentially safe, but most of it is Snow White just being a genuinely nice person.

As she is quite gentle, she likes to think about how to make someone’s day or what may make someone smile. She isn’t all talk, however, her actions are just as kind as her words. She feels that there’s always something that she can do to make someone’s day brighter and cheerier. This doesn’t just apply to people but animals as well. She’s innocent as well, unable to really comprehend someone doing her harm until it is introduced to her by the Huntsman. While she was absolutely terrified of the Huntsman and how he was about to kill her, she did, ultimately forgive him, not really understanding why he was attempting to murder her.

This brings us to her innocence. Snow White is innocent and naive to the point of making some incredibly foolish decisions.

Literally, her most negative relationship and the biggest impact on her life comes with the very one-sided hatred she deals with from her stepmother. Her stepmother wants her dead and it is the actions of her stepmother, Queen Grimhilde, that essentially drives all of Snow White's actions. Her stepmother was the cause of Snow White's abuse and solitude, her stepmother was the cause for what was essentially exile from her own kingdom, it was that same exile that caused Snow White to meet the dwarfs, and it was her stepmother hunting her down that caused Snow White to "die" when taking the bite of the poison apple. Despite all the abuse from her stepmother, Snow White still clung to the idea that her stepmother might care for her, or at the very least, did not wish to see her harmed.

However, even after finding out, Snow White didn’t want revenge on the Queen, she only wished to escape and get as far away as possible from said danger. Snow White never had any intention of going back and reclaiming the throne from her stepmother, she merely moved on and accepted that she could not return to her castle even as the threat of her stepmother still loomed over her head.

Even with such a threat, Snow White was able to stay bright and optimistic and go about her daily life rather than just linger on the issues in her life.

Her innocence continues in that she has no real regard for danger. This can be seen as she invites the Old Hag (the queen) into the cottage even after being informed not to let anyone into the house by Grumpy. When the Hag first appeared at Snow White’s window, while she is initially cautious, as soon as she is engaged in conversation, she’s put at ease. Furthermore, because it was an old woman, Snow White was quite forthright with information. Even more so by letting the Old Hag into the cottage after she was attacked by the animals and seemed to be having heart-strain. Snow White didn’t consider why the animals (her friends) might have attacked the old woman, only that they had and she needed rest. It is in this way that Snow White’s innocence is slightly detrimental, even if well-intended.

Extremely optimistic and a hard worker, Snow White isn’t afraid to get her hands messy or dirty with housework or cooking. She doesn’t believe in cutting corners or shortcuts as she gently scolds her animal friends for trying to be quick about cleaning the cottage.

Snow White is sometimes ashamed of her own fear (even if justified) as seen when she apologizes for frightening the animals in the forest after having just escaped from being killed. She doesn’t focus on herself, only that she might have frightened someone. The princess doesn’t want to trouble people yet she also has no problems asking for help as she does so on several occasions first from her animal friends and then the dwarfs.

Snow White while not very bright, isn’t stupid. She tries to reason things out as best she can but, her reasoning is naive and innocent based on a sheltered lifestyle. She is oddly pragmatic and practical in other matters. She knows that she can’t just expect to stay in the dwarfs’ cottage for nothing, so she offers to take care of the house in return for shelter and safety. In this way, she also believes in the kindness of others to be as great as her own. But she also isn't a pushover either.

Despite everything, Snow White hasn’t lost any of her hope for her future. In fact, to some degree, it's all Snow White has to hold onto. Snow White knew that her only way out of her situation would likely be marriage. So she dreams and wishes to be in love and be taken away by her true love where she will be safe and able to live happily ever after. Her prince offers her that chance and makes her feel loved almost immediately when he not only is gentle and kind to her upon meeting but serenades her. It is because of this that Snow White feels like her dreams can come true and she will feel loved in a way that she never has been.

In fact, her desire to be loved is perhaps her greatest desire as she was starved for it in her childhood. She wants people to like her, be it her prince or the dwarfs, and will go so far as to pray for it at night as when she prays for Grumpy to like her.

At her core, Snow White can get very lonely, starved for comfort and love, seeking both. Her greatest wish, for her love, while not just romantic, reveals what she really wants. Just as she yearns for love, she is quick to give it.

Snow White is quick to become friends with the dwarfs and more than that, she is simultaneously a mother and daughter figure to them. The dwarfs are really her very first friends ever outside of the animals and they make her feel welcome, loved, supported, and safe. In return, she is quick to love them and care for them. She acts like a mother when she makes sure they wash before a meal and shoos them to bed when it’s late and cooks for them. But they treat her like a daughter when all the dwarfs (Doc and Grumpy especially) warn her to remain careful and not to allow anyone in the home while they are away like concerned parents might. The relationship Snow White has with the dwarfs is a stark contrast to her life in the castle. Where before she was isolated, now she had seven people in her life who loved her and cared for her, and wanted to see her safe and happy (some more than others).

When Snow White is in a healthy environment, she blossoms immediately. She is very quick to take charge and will enforce rules and expectations as we see her do with the dwarfs by denying dinner. When she's with the dwarfs, Snow White can be very stubborn about matters and things she believes in such as cleanliness or good manners. In this way, she is quick to take on a motherly role even though she is the one under the protection of the dwarfs. Snow White will not stand for people being rude, insisting on good manners. More still, she will scold people for misbehavior as seen with her animal friends when they attack the Old Hag.

Snow White, in a way, models the mother figure she desperately desired for herself yet never had. But as much as Snow White can be a mother she can be a friend, able to go so far as to lightly tease the dwarfs like when she does with Grumpy and Dopey. She does have a sense of humor and is still very much a child despite her situation. Snow White is still a young girl, growing and maturing, but she has hopes and dreams and desires like anyone else. She tries not to be a bother, offering her skills and hoping to make fast friends.

    AU History:
Much of Snow White's story is still the same, but more modern. Originally born in Germany as an heiress of a well to do businessman, her mother died while giving birth to her and her father married a woman who was cold and fiercely beautiful. Then, under mysterious circumstances, he himself dies while Snow White is still very young.

And she is left under the care of her stepmother.

Or, well "care" in a very vague sense of the word. Snow White is still essentially a servant of the household, not allowed to have anyone talk or interact with her outside of her tutors. She doesn't get to go to normal schools. But she's kept alive because, wouldn't you know it, her being alive and cared for is a stipulation for the will for her stepmother to inherit anything.

But then, when Snow White turned 10, the lawyers came and explained, Snow would be the one to inherit all of the fortune left by her mother and father once she turned 18. Her stepmother Grimhilde, would be dependent on Snow's good will for money and care.

Unless, of course, something unfortunate were to happen to her, then obviously, everything would go to her stepmother.

And, much like the story goes, Grimhilde tried to kill Snow White. In the same way she did in the original story, by having her heart cut out by a servant.

However, Snow White doesn't get to escape and flee.

    No, quite the opposite.

Mr. Huntsman is found guilty of trying to murder Snow White, and Grimhilde, for the sake of her daughter's health and concern, moves them to France. But oh, Grimhilde laments, there's just so many horrible people trying to get at her daughter. What with that unfortunate incident with the poison apple and Mr. Prince. Well, it's a good thing he's behind bars. A young man like that has no business being in a romantic relationship with a 13 year old in any case.

In fact, every time there's an "incident" that puts Snow White in the hospital be it a scar on her chest or the multiple poisonings she's endured, there is always some convenient servant or relation of Snow's to be the one to point the finger at. To the world, Grimhilde is just a loving, doting stepmother, looking out for her sweet and innocent stepdaughter who is constantly being taken advantage of by people around her!

    Best to move... again.

Which brings Snow White to Kaisou.

Now 14, Snow White is rather terrified to befriend... anyone, despite being desperate for companionship. But if she befriends people, those people will likely be the scapegoat of her stepmother's next scheme. She only has her animal friends to keep her company. Snow White has learned to take care of herself since her mother tried to make her overdose on medication, she has learned to cook since the multiple poisoned food attempts, she's learned to sew since that one attempt with a dress having cut into her skin. She's learned to take care of everything on her own, lest a servant or staff member somehow be blamed for her mother's murder attempts. With tutors being the only people allowed to talk to her, and Snow White (and the servants) being terrified to interact lest they become the next target, Snow White's only friends have been animals.

At least her stepmother has indulged her particular habit to be around wild animals (mostly because her stepmother keeps hoping Snow will be mauled by one). She's unaware that Snow White has an ability, that she can talk to animals and they to her.

But, things in the states are different. Her stepmother couldn't find private tutors she could manipulate for Snow's education.

So for once, Snow White is going to get to be among other children her age.

    She's both thrilled! And terrified.

AU Personality Differences: Snow White is almost exactly the same as her OU counterpart only she is well aware that the threat of her stepmother looms much closer. She's still desperate for companionship and making friends and being loved.

Her affinity for cleanliness is more because poisons are so easily found on food, hands, clothing, anywhere, really, so best to constantly have things cleaned by her or only those she trusts thoroughly.

She's infinitely more terrified that anyone she gets close to will be used for her stepmother's next scapegoat in her next murder attempt, that's what happened to her dear friend, Florian Prince who was going to help her escape her mother. Since being pretty and having money let you get away with quite literally murder, Snow White has to just pray she makes it to 18 and then she can be free of her stepmother.

Having had literally no friends, Snow is a bit more socially awkward, but still open and honest and friendly.

Snow White, being allowed to have private tutors and also her mom persistently trying to kill her more often has made her less naïve than her OU counterpart, but she still absolutely believes to see the good in people. Just because HER stepmother has a black hole where her heart should be doesn't mean others do.

    Character Name: Fern
    Canon: OU
Canon Point: During the finale, after Gumbald abandons him in the nightmare.
    History: Wiki.

    Personality:

Fern is the culmination of a really bizarre set of circumstances, and unfortunately for the poor kid his personality reflects that. While he began as a Finn, his transformation into a sword and subsequent merging/possession by the Grass Sword Demon left him emotionally unstable and stuck with a severe identity crisis.

Fern as Finn and Finn Sword was like most other Ooo!Finns: a morally charged Good Boy who tries his best to be a hero and can sometimes go overboard. Even as a sword he hates being used for evil rather than good, yelling at Bandit Princess when she uses him to steal, assault and kill innocent people. He also retains the same Finn consciousness, speaking the same words as the Finn wielding him in the flashback of Two Swords. He doesn't mind being a sword, though he does have misgivings about how Finn uses him. That, however, is due to Finn being extremely careless with him rather than any morality issues.

The Grass Demon's personality is also worth discussing, given the influence it has on Fern's final personality. It is, to be short, a violent creep. As the Grass Sword it had a tendency to manifest and attack people, whether Finn wanted it to or not. Its short conversation with Finn Sword is unsettling - it's totally relaxed as it dismisses Finn Sword's question about what it is as it takes over Finn Sword's space, and as it cocoons him. Its violent side comes out more in Fern than its chill side, which is unfortunate because oh boy does Fern have emotional problems. He resembles the Grass Demon when happy, in that he's calm and smiling, but in an unsettling sort of way.

Fern starts his new life by identifying as Finn in Two Swords and into Do No Harm, but by the end of Do No Harm he's referring to Finn in the third person and identifying as the Grass Sword. Into the next few episodes he's clearly having problems understanding who he is, and where he fits in the world. He tries to be Finn, but he isn't Finn, and pretty much everyone constantly reminds him of that. He tries to be Fern, but he doesn't really know what that means and when trying to do good things as Fern he simply copies Finn. Not helping matters is his tendency to get extremely upset and wreck everything around him, or at least go overboard in trying to make himself feel better and solve his problems. By Three Buckets his identity crisis has hit a low point; he becomes desperate to solidify his identity by underhanded means which leads to his 'death'.

Compassion isn't really language Fern is good with, preferring to solve his problems with violence. He slices up the tardigrade monster instead of making the barest effort to solve its riddle, and suggests slicing Sweet P's tendons to stop him from running. Worse yet, in dealing with Sweet P it is blatantly obvious that his understanding of compassion is stunted. Sure, he has Finn's memories, but he notes in Islands that they're fuzzy and only half there. He cares about Susan and Jake, but his attempts to be good after often met with rejection that cuts deeply and reinforces his deeper issues of his own identity.

Despite all that Fern still shares some similarities with Finn. Fern represses traumatic memories into a memory vault like Finn, and he's also sensitive to being abandoned. Unlike Finn, however, Fern didn't get the luxury of having a support system remain in place once he becomes grassy. Jake and Finn reject him initially, and Jake never really feels comfortable around Fern. Finn gets over his rejection and is far more supportive, but more in a brotherly sense and never does a great job at validating Fern's Finn-ness until the very end of the show. Nearly every other interaction Fern has (until the very end of the show) is negative - he steals Starchy's motorcycle, punches the crap out of Grassy Wizard and makes Sweet P cry. It's no wonder that he feels like he falls short of Finn in everything. Perhaps the greatest example of that is when Finn entrusts him to protect Ooo while he's away in the Islands miniseries, but Fern feels like he screws that up by becoming a candy person (though that was likely way out of his hands) and drinking root beer, leaving Finn to fix everything. He's a severely unhappy person, grinding his teeth at night compared to Finn's adorable happy dreams of punching and kissing, and outright stating he's tormented in the series finale.

There are points where he's happy. Early on when Finn gives him a Finn cake (a cupcake for Finns only); in giving it Finn gives Fern some reassurance in his uncertainty over his identity. He's happy to fight evil until Jake tells him he's doing it wrong by going overboard. Related to that, he's shown to enjoy winning, calling it the "thrill of victory" and enjoying winning against Finn as the Green Knight in Seventeen. Losing, unsurprisingly, makes him very upset.

Lastly, he's a piss poor liar. Throughout Three Buckets his attempt at deceiving Finn still shows him with a short temper and unable to even pretend to be bonding with his not-brother-self. His plan isn't half bad - it would have actually worked if not for Princess Bubblegum giving Finn a multitool for a robot arm - but when faced with true, genuine emotion Fern can only stare back blankly and then proceed to completely ignore it.

    Character Name: Rand al'Thor
Canon: The Wheel of Time (leaning slightly more toward the amazon tv series than the books)
    Canon History:
When you live in the mountains and almost no one ever travels there, and then one day you find out horrible monsters are real because they want you! Or one of your friends. Rand would like off this ride and it has just begun.
Lews Therin Telamon-TV and Lews Therin Telamon-Books, just because they're close but the second has more details.

    Canon Personality:
Ø 1000% Friend And Family Driven. Leave town because there's an invading army of monsters in the hills, with the woman and man who just arrived in town? Sure, it will keep my injured dad (and the rest of the people he knows) safe. His friend might be going mad, but the cure might kill him too? Time to draw his sword on the lady who might help.
Ø Impulsive, in a stubborn loving way. Separated from his friends? What would they do? Okay we're doing that and he's not changing his mind.
Ø Unambitious. Unlike many 20 year olds in fantasy, he didn't want to leave his sleepy shepherd town.
Ø Just A Little Naïve. The Dark One sending literal armies after him (and his friends) is one thing, but he still manages to trust most people after that. It takes nearly being stabbed with his own sword to realize humans might be a problem too.
Ø Compassionate and Not As Full Of Wool as he seems. They're trespassing on a farmer's land, and Rand talks him down by noting he isn't holding his bow right to be actually as ready to shoot as he talks.

    AU History:
Not too much, at this point he was only a shepherd and Things were Starting to go Sideways. Maybe instead of trollocs, bears were getting more active or something. Access to Dial-up doesn't change that shepherd life that much. Kari is still alive, and he's aware that he's adopted – standing at like. 6'6 while his parents are much shorter does make things come out.
He's headed to Kaisou for Higher Education, as his parents said make sure he doesn't want more in life before he really settled into being a shepherd and expanding their bandy operations.

    AU Personality Differences:
None. He hasn't gone through Shit in canon yet so he's still a mild stubborn shepherd.
