[He finishes off his bottle, starts searching for a new one. ]

So when I tell you that you need to keep a fuckin' lid on it, I'm speaking from experience- because you might not be afraid of what they can do to you, but try and think what they can do to him- because I promise you, they fuckin' can and they will. He might not survive the next time.

[He finds another bottle, starts on that. ]

Now here's the not shit part. We're all in this exact same shit sandwich. Ain't none of us wanna fuckin' be here and all of us are leashed by those dicks one way or another. Point is, you're gonna have to find a way to survive being a Guardian - gotta find a way to endure this bullshit without flying off the handle and risking more than you're willing to lose. But you don't gotta do that alone. So, how about instead of throwing a goddamn fit every single time the Order open their mouths, you come talk to us? [For once, Husk tells him to listen and he actually fucking does it. What follows is the longest bit of silence Husk has ever received from Blade. No honking, no hyperfixating questions, just listening.

There's a keen sense of helplessness in all of this that Blade has been trying to avoid.]

Maybe they didn't suffer in the same way but the path here hasn't been easy for any of them. It sounds like Husk lost a family member and almost lost a second, and suddenly it terrifies Blade too.

He runs his hand through his hair and lets out a low sigh.]

[Husk patiently waits through the silence- he figures it's Blade absorbing what was said to him like an especially slow-reacting sponge. His feathery eyebrows do rise at the apology, though- he wasn't expecting that. ]

S'alright. Like I said, I get why you're so damn angry. It's a perfectly reasonable thing to be angry about. It's just a case of figurin' out a better way to handle that that doesn't get you in deep shit you can't get out of, that's all.

[He gives a dismissive little sound to the sharing comment. It's fine, don't draw attention to the fact he's helping and being supportive. People might get (completely correct) ideas about him being someone who actually cares about others' wellbeing!

The comment about Lapis does bring a little smile to his face though. He's proud of her- his one single non-fuck up. ]
