As a character spends time in Kaisou, they can gain (or regain) different perks. These come in many different forms, and can either be things that came from their original canons or new items altogether, depending on what you're interested in! Instead of requesting threads for regains, a set number of regains will be obtainable each month. Each character will get a total of 4 points each month to spend on regains. Any unused points will get rolled over each month, so players can save up and spend big.

Memory Regains
Characters who are modern AU will occasionally get flashbacks to previous lives (aka their memories from their original canon). Memory regains are triggered organically through threads and interactions, usually through repeating actions that are similar to the original memory. At this time, no one is sure why these memories are surfacing. Perhaps it indicates you are a reincarnation, or it's simply an echo from another universe.
Memory regains do not require mod approval and there is no maximum number you can regain a month.
Item, Appearance, and Ability Regains
Characters can obtain items and abilities that came from their original canon world. It must be an item or ability that the character would've reasonably been able to have access to and/or owned in their canon (No Infinity Stones for Peter Parker, in other words). You can weaken abilities to regain them as at a lesser power level, and then boost their power by future regain points.
AU characters can also regain features to their appearance that they had in their original canon (OU characters don't have to bother with that as they come looking like their canon selves).
Characters may also gain new abilities that are unique to Kaisou. For more information about Kaisou's power system and the potential abilities, you can read up about it here.

Gacha Regains
Feeling Lucky? Not picky about what you regain? A gacha regain is an item/ability/world regain that is picked via RNG by the mod! The potential regains range from the useless (a paperclip) to very useful (new abilities!) to the very cursed (long furby). Characters with luck-based abilities will have a higher chance of either pulling something nice or something cursed, depending on which way their luck goes.
1 point will get you 2 gacha rolls. We ask that players only do a maximum of 4 gacha rolls per day (aka two points worth!).
Gacha Goodwill and Refunding Regains
If you're interested in obtaining gacha items with a LITTLE less relying on chance, OR you are interested in returning a regain you have purchased, you can head over to the Gacha Goodwill to take care of those needs! Currently, the Gacha Goodwill is only open on the first and third weekends of the month.
Starting September 2023, if you've purchased some items from the Goodwill that you don't wish to keep, you can turn it to this post in exchange for gacha pulls. For every 2 items that you turn in, you will receive 1 gacha pull. This applies to goodwill and grab bag items. While there's no minimum timeframe you have to hold onto these items, we will not do refunds on days Goodwill is open.

Birthday Skeleton
As of November 2022, the Birthday Skeleton is now offering his services in Kaisou. On the night before a character's birthday, the Birthday Skeleton will appear by their bedside and ask them for their birthday wish. Once they make their wish, the Birthday Skeleton will proclaim "The Contract is Sealed" before giving them the item and disappearing once more. The birthday skeleton cannot be killed because he is already a skeleton.
OOCly, this means players can make a item request during the month of their character's birthday. This item can either be an item that's reasonably found on modern-day Earth, or a regain item that's worth up to 2 points. Anything that they wish for that does not fall within these perimeters will either get the skeleton to ask for something else, or he'll give them an item equivalent (such as a toy of the item, or a photo of the person).
To get your Birthday Skeleton item, please fill out the usual regain form and note under the points that this is for their birthday!
If your character does not have a canon birthday, you are free to make one up! If their canon goes by a different calendar, feel free to pick a good equivalent. If they are primordial being that's older than the existence of the calendar - their Kaisou birthday is now January 1st.
Korok Hammerspace
As of August 2023, characters can now obtain free hammerspace slots via searching for Koroks in the Hyrule Realm. These Koroks are playful nature spirits that like to play hide-and-seek and other games. Each time you find one, they will give you a Korok Seed. Bring three of these seeds to a larger spirit named Hetsu, and he'll perform a magic dance that will give you enough hammerspace to store away 1 item that is no bigger than a typical weapon.
OOCly, characters can obtain a free hammerspace slot if they find three Koroks. At least one of these Korok searches needs to be threaded out (with a minimum of three comments from your character). When you request your free hammerspace slot, please be sure to link the required thread. Characters can obtain up to three hammerspace slots per month.
Re-Regains
Players who previously dropped a character and then re-apped has the option to pay half price (or rounded to the nearest whole number) for any regains they previously bought before. Re-Regains can apply to any abilities, items, and previously obtained gacha winnings.

When Should I Expect My Regains to Get Approved?
The regain mod team will hold office hours each day from 2pm EST to 4pm EST, so this will be the most likely time your regain will get approved. Sometimes regains will get approved outside of office hours if the mod on shift that day feels like it, but please don't count on it.
Occasionally if a regain request is particularly complicated, it may be put on hold while a decision about it can be made. However, even in cases like that it should take no longer than one week, so if your regain hasn't be responded to in a week - feel free to contact us and let us know because that most likely means it got missed somehow!
You should also expect no regain approvals on any major international holidays, aka Christmas & New Years. We also ask that you do not privately contact the regain mods about your regains. RULE UPDATE NOVEMBER 2023: While the Activity Check is underway (typically the 28th - 30/31st) we ask that you do not comment with a regain UNLESS you have completed your AC for the current month. Once you have cleared AC, you can go purchase as you like. Thank you!

Regain Details: Aesthetic Shapeshifting Ability regained for Paisley Park; think 'Silly Putty'. It will always clearly be Paisley when she changes shape, she just has a different shape. Shape range as referenced from canon seems to be from 'puddle' to 'object head', with little variation beyond this.

Regain Details: Paisley is able to move away from Yasuho/Yasuho's phone within a range of 50 feet. Harm done to Paisley will still reflect on Yasuho.

Since much of the above is based on guesswork re: points cost, I've posted in order of priority; if the expensive of the first one is greater, the last one can be abandoned, followed by the third, etc etc.

That said- is there a good way/place to go over some of the other things from the canon powerset so that I can make sure not to ask for anything 'out of bounds' in the future? Just to help avoid back and forth for the mod team, save you all some time.
(Also- for similar reference, is it possible to buy altered abilities, that weren't originally Paisley's to use? To be clear I'm not looking to do anything WILD, just pondering appropriately leveled replacements, like building a map or similar.)

First of all to answer your question about altered abilities, any abilities that are not canon abilities would either have to be powers from the elemental regain page or the gacha goodwill (and of course random abilities earned through gacha). Besides that we don't really allow for altered abilities.
As for a place to go over, you are welcomed to comment to this thread with a list of canon abilities you wish to regain, and we can go over which ones would be playable in the game. Please make sure to give detailed descriptions of each ability, that way I can give you a fair assessment.

As for the rest, I will be commenting here later with a concise and clear list of what I'm unsure about re: 'is this allowed'. It just might take a bit- I'll need to run it by some canon unfamiliars to make sure it's actually clear.

Abilities Check! (Shout out to my non jjba bud for helping...)
First: The most questionable ability, Paisley Park's 'Hacking' skill. This is what it says on the tin; Paisley is used to hack through security measures, accessing otherwise inaccessible files to download and so on.
The question is, could this ability be regained IF:
Basically, this ability would be limited to the capabilities of a skilled human and their mundane devices; what is purchased, is Paisley Park's use of that skill.
Second: In an earlier regain, I used 'abnormal luck' to mimic Yasuho's first canon manifestation of Paisley Park- specifically this entailed higher success rates in an internet search. Can this 'internet search specific luck' be further amplified?
As an example of this ability; in canon, a man wonders if he could find a doctor of a certain age within the area. Searching on her phone, Yasuho immediately has the result of that person's public hospital profile via a 'Our Staff' page. In other words, this skill does not Create information- it simply makes the most situationally Relevant information the first to appear in Yasuho's search.
(Success/Results would still be subject to player and mod permission of course)
Lastly: The remaining skills Paisley Park could have that I'm uncertain about are all physical abilities, unrelated to electronics. At full power they are as follows;

I'm going to address the first and second one together as I think they are interconnected. After discussing with the mod team, we're going to say no to giving Paisley its own individual ability to hack. We're saying no because we think even with those restrictions, there's too many ways that it could potentially cause problems.
So any hacking that could be done has to be done at Yasuho's own hand, and her hacking ability can't be anymore than what a normal hacker would reasonably be capable of (just like Yuuki and Ei, in other words).
However, based on your description of the second one, I get the sense that you're more asking for the ability to use Paisley like one would use Alexa/Siri/Chat GBT though with the added capability of basically using her for anything you'd use a computer for. Which, that's fine and would be allowed to do that for 2 points. Again due to her hacking ability being nerfed, Paisley would not be able to access any information that isn't reasonable for her to obtain.
As for allowing her to be more successful at bringing up search results....I don't think an extra regain is necessary because in the 8 years since Paisley Park was introduced in Jojo (2015 according to wiki), search engine assistants like Siri have come a long way in their speed and efficiency. So I think just a regain allowing Yasuho to use Paisley like a computer assistant would be fine.
Moving onto the last point... Since you already regained aesthetic shapeshifting for 3 points, we'll just have you pay 1 more point to upgrade that power into full body shapeshifting.
As for the other three inquires that all boil down to Paisley being corporal - I'm going to treat it the same way I'd treat a magical companion. Since you already paid 2 points for Paisley to be in the world, I'm going to say 2 more points would allow Paisley to be fully capable of interacting with the physical world.

This was wonderfully clear as a response, and absolutely this helped me immensely. (Siri really is a good way to describe Paisley now that I think about it...)
I'll be keeping the above in mind for future regains now, and for that matter now I can be a little freer with poking around the Goodwill, so thank you so much again! (And have a wonderful day!)
