But it does suck a lot. I hope neither her sister nor her dad shows up here, that would be so, so bad.

Honestly? Probably not. I didn't expect anyone from home to be here, but less...like this. And I have bad experiences with amnesia. I know this isn't the same thing but it's close enough.

I just hate this a lot. I want to go home.

Maybe? I am definitely trying to make a portal to get home, I can do that. I just need to figure out how to get it up and running in this world, and then make sure it's pointed in the right direction to get people back to their worlds.

Oh, wow, thanks. I don't know how much would help with that. This world is as different from what I'm used to as can possibly be. But it would be nice to do something. Together.

["It's hard to mess up lifting stuff" settles uneasily in his chest. He doesn't like the connotations of that. It suggests that Fern expects to be a screw up which is a sentiment he is only too used to and certainly doesn't like seeing in others. ]

I don't think you'd mess it up at all, hard or otherwise.

I guess it might, yeah. It's always good building stuff, you know? Especially if it helps people.
