Elemental? Like you could control the weather, kinda? My mamí can do that, too. And my tía's cooking has healing powers.

[There's a slight pause in Zelos's response because SERIOUSLY? His mom can control the weather and being an angel is the freaky one???

No, I can't do anything that extreme. Just make fireballs and strong gusts of wind. It's a rare skill for humans in my world, but compared to elven magic it's not anything special. And even they wouldn't be able to control the weather.

Well, her moods affect the weather, I should say. Y'know, if she's happy, there are rainbows; if she's worried, there's a cloud above her... That kinda thing. But she's a normal human, too. And definitely no fireballs. I don't even want to think about Mamí having fire in the mix...

[ He grimaces, but it's obviously in good humor. ]

But man the weather changes around her based on her mood? Sounds like a stressful power to have.

Hey, I didn't say we were totally normal, I just said we were normal humans... w-with Gifts. It's only our family who has Gifts in our Encanto — I know we're not normal... But otherwise, more or less, compared to a talking horse or a literal angel, yeah, normal humans.

[ He's never... had to explain being a Madrigal. This whole experience is throwing him for so many extra loops for this reason. The name Madrigal means nothing here. Except, yeah, a growing reputation for a family of weirdos, but now without the celebrity worship they had back home... for better or worse. It's just different. ]

Aaanyway— You're not wrong. Mamí's Gift is stressful sometimes. Not just for her. We've all become pretty good at chasing clouds away, especially Papí and me; y'know, we make her laugh. But... even if it's stressful sometimes, it's better we know how she's really feeling, than... not? I'd take a thunderstorm at the dinner table any day over Mamí keeping it all inside, all by herself — no question. The rainbows are worth the rain.
