Despite having every possible advantage that they could have going into this, everything goes tits-up really quickly. Lapis uses her skills to aggro the undead but things end up lost in translation. Maybe it's the specific part of the Spirit Realm they're in, maybe it's the kind of undead they're dealing with- either way, the undead start yelling at each other, and then turn in a big group off through the maze. Weird. Rose and Lapis can follow them - stumbling through the thorns as they do so. Some stragglers are around to fight, but the undead seem REALLY focused on walking out of the maze rather than battle. Once they get out of the maze, Rose and Lapis have to deal with the skeletal boss- who ISN'T so enthralled by Lapis's powers. It's a rough fight- even with everything they have in their arsenal. While they're fighting, the undead pick up the crate between them and shuffle off into the night- if they listen hard enough, Rose and Lapis might be able to make up a croaky E-BAAAAAAAAY coming from them. Regardless, the crate is gone. They can beat the boss or make a hasty retreat, either way, they return to Garfield empty-handed.

You manage to escape with your life and whatever other injuries you sustained in the maze, but you swear you can hear the boss yelling "BOOOONNEEEESTOOOORRRMMMM!!!!" when you close your eyes. Garfield is deeply unimpressed and is unhappy he has to trawl internet bidding sites thanks to undead interference again.
