It's not helpful, that's for sure, being out in a crowd and suddenly intimately aware of everyone else around you. I can more or less turn it off in the dorms when I need to sleep, because of course the people next door are in bed, too, but...

I'll take seeing in the dark for sure... that just feels like an anxiety inducing ability.

Pretty much, yeah.

Seeing in the dark could be neat, though. I can definitely see the downsides you mentioned, but there are a lot of practical applications. Not bumping into things at night when you don't feel like turning on the light, for instance...

It does keep me from tripping over books I didn't feel like picking up...
