i mean, let me put it to you this way:

first day i got the app, i woke up with my bed frozen over. it's january, so i figure it's just that my heater's busted, right?

and then greenie up there tells me to look outside and asks if i can see the northern lights, which: oh boy!! now i can!! even though we're nowhere near the range for that sort of thing? and he says it's bc i'm magical now!

naturally, i call Fucking Bullshit and go to wash my blankets.

except turns out, it ISN'T fucking bullshit. i can control ice now (ok control is a strong word but i'm working on it) and i'm more or less immune to regular-kaisou cold. which is kind of awesome, but also kind of what the fuck is this shit?

THEN a gate opens up to a bleak frozen hellscape full of frozen corpses and giant ravens.

THEN THIS MONTH i wake up one morning with red eyes and also did i mention I'M BLIND IN ONE EYE NOW, SO THAT'S GREAT, and my normie stepdad says oh it's always been that way honey, the cataract's inoperable, did you hit your head??? do we need to have a conversation about hard drugs???

also a magic baby penguin followed me home from the gate this month so now i'm a penguin mom or whatever.

so listen at this point? for me? SURE. OTHERWORLDERS MAY AS WELL HAPPEN. whole world's gone topsy-turvy anyway so what do i care!!

I was actually wondering about the powers thing...... the only thing that's happened to me is that I'm suddenly stronger.

I broke one of my tablet pens gripping too hard. I can see better in the dark, and I have a tiny mouse that keeps zapping spiders living with me.

But I still find it weird people from other worlds are here, and a lot of them are tech inept.

also keep your zappymouse away from king. he makes bubbles sometimes i think that might end badly. and while he is a piece of shit he is also my son and if anything ever happened to him i would kill everyone in this chat and then myself so

point being yeah it's super weird that we keep getting weird fantasy transplants but like, everything else about reality is broken so why not?
