History: A write-up. That just covers her pre-game history. As for the rest of it, this basically. Some Rhel specific things, however:

A Realm Reborn:

As she'd been in Ul'dah for several years prior to the start of the main story, some of the beginning adventurer side quests were done then. While escaping the Bloody Banquet and the betrayal of the Braves, Rhel took a poisoned arrow to her left thigh. She recovered, but she has a scar and limps from time to time.

Heavensward:

Rhel fell for Haurchefant and losing him devastated her in a way only the Bloody Banquet had before. The only reason she kept going was a strong desire to shove her rod up Thordan's arse.

There was also much loud and protracted yelling at Estinien when he refused to wash his armor of dragonblood. And again when he woke up.

Stormblood

The stress of everything starts to get her at this point, and after the events of Doma Castle, Ala Mhigo, and then fighting Shinryu, Rhel was sent first to Ishgard then to Limsa to recover from some fairly major aetheric injuries that came about from pushing herself too far. Because of this, she was not actually present for most of the story events that take place in "Patch 4.1 The Legend Returns". She is called back for the rematch against Sri Lakshmi and all events following that, though she had not fully recovered.

Shadowbringers

Pretty much exactly as shown in MSQ, though being a black mage Rhel knew that something was wrong with her taking in all this Light-aspected aether. Otherwise: there was a lot more crying and calling certain Exarchs out than we see in-game.

Endwalker

I won't go into detail here, just know that Rhel will be looking at all of this as a fucking vacation. A shite vacation, but a vacation.

Personality: Though Rhel now seems generally calm and a respectable adult, that’s only half true. She really has mellowed out from her wilder childhood days (amazing what having to manage umbral and astral magicks can do for one’s self control), but it’s not hard at all to get her involved in shenanigans. Just ask her students, who love to get Rhel on a tangent about proper thaumaturgy or mistranslated texts, or her friends who know exactly how make Rhel's "umbral facade" crack like so much plaster. Or ask her family, who only really ever see Rhel's troll side unless they happen to brave the sands and visit her in the city. (Spoilers, only two of her siblings have ever seen that side of her.)

Being a teacher really did help Rhel mature, though, and she is very often the only person keeping a cool head in the middle of whatever crisis. She might have a moment afterwards, but Rhel will do her best to be the rock other people can cling to. There have been a few times where she failed to do that, times that have only gotten more numerous as she’s traveled about as the Warrior of Light.

She still hasn’t forgiven herself for the incident with the Braves or Haurchefant.

Though Rhel herself has no desire to make a clan like her older sisters, she tends to half-adopt anyone who needs her help. Some people eventually become "clan" to her, like the Scions, Subetei, and Ivanis. (Vint, being a childhood friend, doesn’t count here and anyway she’s godmother to any of his children provided she lives long enough for that so they’re basically actually-proper-clan.) It’s hard for her to turn away people who need help out of hand, though she’s thankfully learned to be a little skeptical thanks to her years in Ul’dah. Still, if she feels you’re being truthful she’ll do everything she can to get you whatever help you need.

Rhel is incredibly sociable, constantly needing people around for at least background noise if not conversation. The idea of being alone terrifies her and is in part why she has such an expansive collection of mammets. It may be childish or odd, but she genuinely feels better if she has one of her little toys with her and has for most of her life. It’s hard to explain where this fear comes from, but it’s there. It hardly bothers Rhel, though sometimes it may bother other people if she’s in a Mood and chatting up a storm. Still, everyone knows to worry if she isn’t interested in socializing.

And if she isn’t interested in reading? Panic. The only thing Rhel loves more than people and adventure is reading. Every room she’s ever claimed as her is filled with books and scrolls and maps and tablets in all languages; it took the Scions a week and a half to gather up all her books and move them into a room in the Stones once she finally agreed to claim one. She’s trying to get Cid to make her some automata that can organize her vast library. So far it hasn’t panned out--they all break under the stress.
