past regains

Congrats on your untimely death! After you die, you will awaken in a very drab waiting room. The only other people in the waiting area seems to be the others who also died back at the cabin. On the wall, there is a sign that reads: Welcome to Purgatory! Please take a number and wait while your soul is processed for its next destination. Thank you. Sure enough, under the sign there is one of those old number ticket machines.
From there, there is nothing to do but... wait! There are plenty of old chairs to sit in (some are even comfortable), along with stacks of magazines that are all discontinued. If you get hungry, there is a cabinet and fridge that is full of various discontinued snacks and drinks. Fancy yourself a New Coke or Pepsi Blue?
Finally, there is an old fashioned tv and antennae. You can use this either to watch some cancelled shows or watch a feed of what's going on back at the cabin. You'll have to deal with adjusting the antenna regularly and bad reception though.
That's about it for purgatory though! Enjoy your stay.
[OOC: This is the log for all the characters that die during the October Horror plot! It's up to you if your character is still affected by the roles given to them by the plot. Please do not discuss or link this log anywhere outside the Purgatory chat until October 15th. After October 15th, this log will be shown to everyone else. ]
Day 2 onwards
....Whaaaaaaat the flluuuunk?
[Or a bit later, you might find him peering at the snacks, carefully, he picks up an Ecto Cooler.]
...Oh my Goose, I haven't seen these since the eighties!
[And, naturally, gossip fiend that he is, he'll be watching the TV later, eating snacks. Because this is easier than processing the being dead thing. So much easier.]
Ohhhhhhh booooy I think we're about to get a cat fight. Me-ow.
Re: Day 2 onwards
[Because despite having met his own grisly end the day before and knowing perfectly well that Zulius would materialize here, seeing Zulius go through that was very concerning.]

Moooooxxx? What? [Moxixe died. He saw Moxxie die. He looks around them, this is...is this a waiting room?] Where are we?
[He'll get to the question in a moment, he's going through it right now. ]

Wh- wait. [Right. Right. He was dead. He was super dead. He's trying to process this.]
Is...did you come here last time you died? Also...honey, no. Let's- let's not wish for Hell right now okay? I think that mess was hell enough.
[He lets out a laugh. It's really not a healthy laugh.]
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my goose I'm actually dead. I actually died.
no subject
[Moxxie considers going over some of the better snack options he's seen here when he realizes Zulius is panicking.]
Zulius? It's okay. I mean, I really freaked out the first time I died and was super paranoid for a while, but it turns out dying doesn't stop you from living your best life or being okay. You'll get through this. We all will. But yeah, super dead. The whole thing was pretty horrifying, actually.
no subject
[Okay, okay, he can just take a few deep calming...oh. He's not breathing. Because he's dead. He buries his face in his hands, making a gurgling noise. But he does try to focus on his friend's words- to really hear what he's saying. ]
Yeah- yeah. I-I mean you were pretty okay, right? Between then dying and now dying anyway??? And YES that was super horrifying. I did NOT have "being sacrificed to an ancient god" on my bingo card AT all.
no subject
[Which doesn't apply here, because there wasn't anyone here that would be pissed off at them from this incident.]
Yeah, it wasn't really on mine, either...but at least we're done with that nightmare! And we can check in on how everyone else is doing on TV.
no subject
[No one can be pissed off at them! Except maybe those ancient gods if they come back to life, but Zulius is trying not to think about that right now.]
Wait...what? Really? [His head turns to the TV.] ...Oh my goose, have you guys been watching us this whole time?
no subject
[He's lying. The death was horrifying and painful and he'll be having nightmares for a long time, but right now he's trying to make Zulius feel better about it.]
And yes. We have. And now you get to, too.
no subject
[He had a really bad time and he doesn't know what's worse: the idea he might not come back and the people he cares about have lost him, or the fact he WILL and he has to explain to them that he fucking died.]
I don't know, it's pretty terrifying already, I don't wanna watch more people die, Moxx.
no subject
[That's overly optimistic on his part.]
Yeah, I guess I see your point. It's harder for me not knowing what's going on back there, though.
no subject
[He pinches his thumb and forefinger together. A tiny bit, Sir. But hey, at least he's standing up and...wandering over to the snacks. Maybe he can just eat himself into a sugar coma. Do dead people have sugar comas? He doesn't know but he damn sure is gonna try!]
I mean...okay, yeah, that's true. I guess. I reserve the right to look away when someone dies though. I'm just about full UP on that one.

[At least there’s content in hell.]
I think we are. Perhaps we’re luckier to be here, that’s the cannibal isn’t it?
no subject
[He'll cast her a side eye, because...uh. That was a pretty traumatic thing that happened between them and as tempting as it is to never speak of it again, he feels they probably...should. ]
So. Are we gonna talk about it?
no subject
[Is that how it works?]
[It doesn’t matter, though, because Rose doesn’t actually care. She’s trying to fill air, she needs to think about how to respond.]
I was hoping you wouldn’t ask about it.
[She looks away. What’s eye contact?]
Someone did the same for me once. At the time, I hated him for it, but now I think I understand. When someone you care about is in danger—-if you feel you can do something—-well, the alternative is much worse.
no subject
[And here they are. Zulius lets out an unhappy hum. From where they're sitting on the shitty couch, he crosses and uncrosses his forelegs, then crosses them again, unsettled, deeply unhappy. His ears flick back as he listens- not angry, no. Just...upset. He doesn't like this and he can't even properly pinpoint why.]
I don't hate you.
[It's important to get that out, he feels, to ease any concern she might have that he could ever hate her. He picks at the side of the couch.]
I mean, the alternative is me dying and that happened anyway.
[Which was...probably inevitable. He's thrown himself into so much danger since getting the app, trying to protect the people he cares about. Even if his battle skills are lax at best. This was always going to happen eventually, he supposed.]
...I don't know. Feels like a waste.
no subject
[Rose is just, going to sit down and lean on Zulius. She’s not asking permission, she just needs some quality friend time.]
But, I think even if I hadn’t—-I doubt I would have made it out. It could just as easily been them calling me with your voice.
[Translation; She saw.]
It’s been a long time since I felt this powerless.
no subject
...I mean, yeah. I guess. The stupid thing was I knew you were gone but...I dunno. [He raises his shoulders in a little shrug.] I guess I just really wanted it to be different.
[And he fooled himself into a trap. And got himself killed. And Edward bitten. ]
I hear you, I super hate all of this. Do you think the people in the city even know we're gone? They've got to have noticed by now, right?
no subject
[Not that she'd ever admit this when she was alive, of course. She was smarter than that. That's what she always told herself. That was the standard she always held herself to.]
[But in the end, this is what she was. Another idiotic hero.]
I doubt it. Something must have prevented them from realizing. If it hadn't, don't you think we would have seen Vash and Takame by now?
no subject
[He desperately wanted to believe Rose hadn't died. That he'd been mistaken and maybe there was life in her and he hadn't watched a second person who was close as family to him die in as many days. He wasn't so lucky, and now he's dead too, but he doesn't regret for a single second running to her aid, even if he knows it was a trap. He'd never regret that. ]
...Yeah, that's true. They would have for sure noticed we weren't at work. ..Hope they're okay.
no subject
[Just like she doesn't regret saving him. Even if it ended up being for naught in the end, she doesn't regret it one bit. She'd do it again if she had to.]
I'm sure they're fine. They're more capable of taking care of themselves than the rest of us.
[Is that a reference to their current situation, or just a general observation? Who can say.]
I do miss them, though.
no subject
I mean...yeah, that's true. They probably won't set fire to the theatre while we're not there.
[Probably. He gives her back a little pat. ]
Me too. Moxxie better be super wrong and we come back to life because I am soooo not ready to give all that up yet. We got a lot of people there to worry about.
no subject
That's no cat fight, Velvet means to kill her.
[ if he hadn't died he could put a stop to this. ]
Shit.
no subject
Wait, seriously? Aren't you guys on the same team?
[Okay so Eizen looks pretty concerned and that does add a touch of seriousness to the matter.]
...I really don't think we need any help in getting bumped off at this point.
