Character Name: Aki Hayakawa
Canon: Chainsaw Man
Canon History: Here

Canon Personality:
  • Generally pretty stoic and serious. He's not really the type to joke around at all, because Aki knows what he wants and when he's determined to do something, he will make sure it gets done at all costs.
  • His main motivation in the series is to get vengeance on the Gun Devil for killing his family. He became a Public Safety Devil Hunter for this reason, and takes his job extremely seriously.
  • That being said, he's extremely softhearted and deeply cares about the people around him. He can't stand people dying around him, which makes him more human in this regard than others in the series. For example, while he initially doesn't get along with Denji and Power, he comes to care about them very deeply despite their differences. He was even willing to give up his goal of vengeance to keep them safe.
  • He's also prone to being petty. He joined Denji in kicking a guy in the balls, repeatedly, after said guy killed one of his friends. Aki tried to resist temptation at first, but that flew out the window pretty quickly.

AU Name: N/A
AU Birthday: December 30th

AU History:
Aki Hayakawa was born to a very modest family, with a younger brother to come two years later. There wasn't really anything remarkable about his parents – no accolades, fancy titles or anything of the sort. As such, Aki himself grew up living a very average life from elementary to high school. He was a good student and focused on his studies; he also did cross country as his extracurricular activity. Pretty popular at school for his good looks, athleticism, and academic prowess. He graduated high school with a fantastic GPA and a full ride to Kaisou University.

The day before his first day of college, however, is when his life turned upside down. Aki was returning from a trip when the plane he was in malfunctioned. It started to descend rapidly towards the ground and made a crash landing, in which only half of the passengers on board survived. Aki almost didn't, having sustained an injury to his chest that should've been fatal. However, a being from the Spirit Realm – the ghost of a woman who actually, in fact, died in a similar accident – was drawn to Aki's will to survive, and offered him a contract. In exchange for saving his life, he would be required to allocate at least half of his monthly earnings to pay off the ghost's massive debt from when she was alive. In the heat of the moment, he agreed to the contract in order to keep his life.

...Of course, once he was fine, he realized how hard it'd be for him to do so, being a freshman in college who had yet to step into the workforce. Luckily, he was able to pick up a part-time job as a barista at a local coffee shop...though with the contract in play, he didn't exactly have a lot of spending money. Still doesn't. At least he's a college student, now!

AU Personality Differences:
At his core, Aki is still similar to his canon counterpart. However, he has no desire for vengeance whatsoever, and his main motivation now is paying off his debt. No combat skills whatsoever, either. He also has more moments in which he'll fool around, mostly around those he cares about. Also really hates planes.

Still stoic, though. That's just who he is.

Element: Light
Purchased Powers: - Create small illusions the size of something that fits in your hand. Will disappear upon physical contact. (1 point)
- Summon a basketball size ball of light. (2 points)
- Can teleport to places they've been before (solo). (3 points)
Possession: Pulling from the history section! An ordinary ghost is possessing Aki, and his contract price is dedicating half of his monthly earnings to paying off the ghost's debt from when she was alive.
